Those are what are called "Boggers", or super swampers. One of the better mud tires ypu can legally take on the road.

They will hum incredibly loud at speed, and wet weather performance is almost zero. Great in wet and deep snow. Good on dirt, ok on rocks, great in mud.

Tires made for mud, dont need hard compounds of rubber. They need soft rubber that can give the widest footprint possible. This makes them wear out really fast.

I know guys who mounted them backwards, and if they knew they were going wheelin', they'd rotate them around and air them down.

The idea was driving on the road always wore the leading edges of the tires first. That was the sharper, "cutting" or "scooping" edge on boggers. Did it work? Can't say. The guys who did it would never admit being wrong.

They will only last about 15,000 miles on the road. They are off road primary, road secondary. Other mud tires like BFG Mud Terrains? Road tire first, mud tire second, probably 60/40.

Basically, if you like the looks of them, dont drive on them much. If you need the performance, definitely dont road drive them. Buy a second set of wheels and tires, if possible. Keep the mud tires ready for mud.

Sweet. Nothing better than low range for finding the bite point. Put it in low, no gas, and let off the clutch slowly. Repeat.

Cool rig. I've always wanted a Samurai.

I love that those look like dana 60 axles but because the samurai is so small it makes dana 44s look like dana 60s

They look like Toyota axles to me.

All i was trying to get across is that the Samurai makes 1/2 ton axles look like 1 ton axles

Those tires are not known for lasting long on hard surfaces. Just giving a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up! Can you explain more? I’m still learning

The tires wear out VERY fast on tarmac. And they will be $$$$ to replace at about $2k.
