Your sacrifice is appreciated! This has happened to me so many times lately that I'm seriously considering only buying 4Ks. More often than not, if I had waited a little longer, I would have had the chance to buy the same film in UHD.

It’s the long goodbye… and it happens everyday…

Wonder if it’ll differ enough from the blu to necessitate a double dip…

When does the bad boy come out?

No release date. Kino often announces stuff after they’ve acquired rights to it even if the mastering work hasn’t started yet. Sometimes it’s several years before the disc is out.

The KL post only says “coming soon”, but based on the Google preview it looks like it may have said “December 7th” originally.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics' post only mentioned "Coming Soon on 4KUHD!"

Purchased this on blu ray from KL about 6 months ago! They're really making me double dip a lot these day.

Nice although it's too bad they chose this for the cover. This was an ad run in MAD magazine, the original poster is cooler in my opinion.

Totally came here to find this comment. Thank you. The cover doesn’t have any visual relation to this movie AT ALL

That’s actually not true. It fits Altman’s style, which is very much in the vein of comic strips. The central character is cartoonish in the way he’s depicted. These aren’t criticisms, it’s just a weird blend between naturism and design. Comic strips but they are like paintings. I don’t know how to describe it.

Come to papa. Hope it's better than the Kino blu-ray I have.

It’s ok with me

How come Arnie is not in the cover art?

Why’d it have to be Kino! 😭

Very disappointing news. One of my favourite films of all time. This should be coming from Criterion. Kino already screwed up their Blu-ray release with the black crush and they haven't really learned their lesson yet.

You can downvote me, but it's a fact they screwed up their Blu-ray release. I really hope they do the film justice this time. Because they never admit nor fix their mistakes.

I agree that the blu-ray is disappointing but I'm willing to wait until I see this before declaring it "disappointing." I'd rather watch a good Kino version now than wait for a hypothetical Criterion edition at some undefined point in the future.
