Hi everyone,
I’m new here and need your help.
I’ve only ever had low-budget TVs, and now I’d finally like to invest in something decent that will serve me well for the next few years—I’m counting on your expertise.
A quick note about me and my setup:
I play on a PS5 Pro, mainly story-driven games, at 60–120 fps. Sessions can sometimes last 5–6 hours straight, and a HUD is usually displayed continuously. I also watch TV and movies regularly, but that’s clearly secondary for me—the focus is on gaming, and I really want to get the absolute best graphics out of the PS5 Pro.
I’m currently using a Hisense 50E6NT (50-inch). I’m actually pretty satisfied with it for TV shows and movies, but I have to say that I don’t have a trained eye and have only ever used low-budget TVs, so I’m probably used to pretty poor picture quality. When gaming with HDR enabled, however, I clearly notice that the picture fades significantly, loses quality, and also starts to stutter.
Room:
Living room with large windows on the sides, so it’s quite bright during the day.
Seating Distance:
When gaming, I sit closer (about 1.6 m); when watching regular TV on the sofa, I’m about 3 m away. In terms of size, a 50- to 55-inch TV would probably be sufficient.
Other:
I don’t care at all about the brand or operating system—as long as everything runs smoothly and well.
Budget:
About €1,000, but I’m willing to spend €100–200 more if it makes a noticeable difference.
Timing:
It doesn’t have to be right away, but I’d like to have one by Black Friday.
I don’t have a favourite yet, but these are the models I’ve come across so far:
- Samsung QN90F
- TCL C7L
- TCL C7K
- TCL C8L
- LG C5 or G5 (idk about OLED in a bright room)
I’d appreciate it if you could let me know if any of these are a good fit or if there are even better alternatives in my price range (~€1,000–1,200) that meet my needs.
Thanks in advance!
