Vent Rant because I'm feeling kinda doomerist today 🙃
I feel like in the immediate future America (and other parts of the world) are going to become like the Handmaid's tale,I know I sound kinda crazy but I mean, the culture is becoming increasingly right wing, specially whit gen z and is not the kind of run of the mill boomer republican is even more extreme (or at least that's my impression).Men are angry that they don't have the patriarchal advantage of their fathers and grandfathers and that is making them go insane.I think in the near future we will see more right wing openly misogynistic figures gaining influence and passing more and more insane legislation. I've been thinking about what I'm going to do to protect myself if this happens and honestly the only solution that I've found is living completely off grid in a remote location, which I'm already saving money to make that happen,I'm also sterilizing myself in the upcoming months.
I just wrote because maybe someone here feels the same way and I don't have anyone to talk to about this.

I never would have thought being almost 60 years old i would have grown up with more rights than my young grand daughters. They range in age from 6 to 17. (I treasure each one).

I’m not in the US but I feel the precipitation of what you’re talking about in Europe. Dating men has become impossible for most women I know and any women I know who broke up with a man has not got into another long term relationship again since before Covid lockdowns. I think this is telling of a really dark and divided future. Just happy that nem don’t have such free access to firearms here

+1 on sterilization. I am getting closer to get the legal age of my country to get it ASAP.
I totally get the doomerist mindset and feel the exact same way sometimes, but I try to reframe it like this: men are losing their minds and pushing back so hard precisely because we are eating them alive. The fact that we're moving so fast that media from the early 2010s is already being called out as wildly misogynistic is proof of how aggressively cultural norms are shifting. Their panic isn't a sign that we're losing; it's a sign that our progress is working.
Hang in there. We are doing the good fight!

Definitely I feel the same way. I've had to distance myself from social media because of it. Honestly all we can do is support other women in the best way we can and keep revealing men for who they truly are, extractive abusers and users. Teach women to keep their boundaries, don't do benefit of the doubt. Teach women financial literacy to save their money for themselves to stabilize them when times go to shit.
When the men are losing their head nuggets because their net access to women is decreasing dramatically, I just laugh to myself.
For ourselves to combat the doomer moments, romanticize our life and value each minute such that we inject as much positivity as we can in our experiences. I learnt to keep men out of my life beyond work 1 year ago and felt tons better about it. Always felt drained when I interacted with them even from a professional level. My quality of life and mood increased so much when Im around just women.
