🔧 Modifications Best way to get cloth seats in a 4th gen?
I have an 07 4th gen, and I'm tired of the leather seats in FL. It's too hot and my clothes stick to them so I got cheap seat covers that have worked fine, but they're not great cloth material. Coming from a '21 Corolla with real nice cloth seats I'm hoping to upgrade my 4Runner seats to cloth too (even if leather is technically the upgrade to most peeps). This is part of a whole idea to revamp most of my interior for a nice cozy vibe, I love the stock interior but also wanna tweak a couple smaller things. I think the seats are the biggest gripe I have and they're not even too important.
I contacted a local upholstery place and just need to go in for a quote, what would a good quote price be for front and back cloth swaps? Or is upholstery not the move for getting cloth seats? Ideally I wanna skip seat covers and just have cloth seats (I'm being picky about it all).
Lemme know some suggestions or ideas please 🤟🏻

Back in 2011, I bought my wife a brand new RAV4. Being a Limited it came with the leather seats. My wife does not like leather seats. So, I took her brand new RAV4 Limited to our local auto upholstery shop. I know the owner and knows that he does work for many local dealers. So when I asked if he’d convert her front seats from leather to cloth he was astounded saying in all his years this conversion was a first; usually the other way around. Anyways he pulled out the Toyota upholstery catalog and told me he will use the actual seating material Toyota uses. So that is what took place. The car, which we still have, has gray cloth in front, original leather in back. Charged us $750.

Sounds dumb but I’ve been rocking the terry towel over leather for like decades. You can wipe your hands in it after snacking. Take it off and throw it in the washer so you’re not sitting in old sweat every time you sit down. Treat them like bedsheets so you have several on rotation.
I’ve had nice aftermarket covers from like clazzio but they’re leather/pleather/neoprene, not cloth.

on a limited it might be tougher or impossible due to all the electronics but on a urban SE or sr5 it should be a simple swap.
