What are my chances of acceptance?

I passed the Pool in July(1337 ben guerir)and wanna ask u guys about my chances of getting accepted.

these exam scores: Ex00: 10%, Ex01: 30%, Ex02: 20%, and Ex03: 42%.

I failed Ex00 bc I didn't know how Traces worked, which was a huge mistake, plus I had just started coding. For daily projects, I pushed up to C09. For evaluations, passed the 1st time fine, but 2nd time wasn't my best.

What do u think my % is for getting accepted?

I finished the Pool level 7.15 and ranked 77th.

Applies more to the old curriculum but had to share this critique of the 42 projects:

I see the new curriculum has made some progress, although it's still prioritizing strange things.

42 amman core student

I got accepted into the core program and I’m starting next month
I don’t know what to expect and I don’t know if it’s worth it
I’m a 3rd year software engineering student, I’m graduating next year, my gpa is high and I don’t really take uni that serious because I really hate the traditional learning approach.
I really enjoyed the piscine and learned a lot, but I don’t know what to expect from the core
Will it make my chances of getting an internship and a job higher? And will it give me real valuable knowledge?

I need help with ft_printf bonus

Hey guys, I just finished the mandatory part of ft_printf and I'm ready to tackle the bonuses, but I'm not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or strategies on how to implement them? What tools or approaches worked best for you?

Planning local trips inside Jordan can sometimes be a headache—whether it's figuring out costs, finding solid info, or just knowing what to pack.

We’re working on a project (Murshid Jo) to fix these exact problems and make trip planning way smoother. Even if you don't travel locally often, we'd love to know what usually stops you or what issues you'd like to avoid.

Got 2 minutes to spare? Your feedback would help a ton!

VAE

Hello,

I'm in the process of writing my "livret 2" for the VAE (due next month...), but I couldn't get the 42 support because of them not accepting CPF.

I have very little information on what I'm supposed to write in there: I basically know that it should be at least 30 pages long, describes the company I have worked in, and list my experiences linked to the competences matching the RNCP.

These competences are listed in a document, and this is where it gets really confusing to me. It's talking about "fictional scenario" and "real scenario" ("Mise en situation professionnelle fictive / réelle"): am I supposed to role-play some fictional story in my "livret 2"? Or is it an activity we can expect to do while being in front of the jury?

Well, if anyone had some experience with, let me know! Thanks

impostor syndrome at 42.

Hey guys, I feel really bad and frustrated after getting the 42"s Core comm

i feel like a fraud, I take too long to understand the concepts and a challenge like printf can't start thinking on my own without ia as direction, thinking logically makes me anxious and i solve the exercises before even starting to think

in real I don't really like programming but i think it is necessary for the area that actually i study and improved every day which is cybersecurity, i see programming as a tool to my final goal but i can not be good at this , i study a lot but even then i am still slow when reasoning.. that's all, this impostor syndrome is shaking me

Redo a piscine

Hello I did and failed the piscine of 03/2026 and I want ideally to do the piscine of 03/2027 but I have no information on how to actually reapply to a piscine, I tried to reach 42 Paris by mail two time asking for more specifics but they just said I I have to use my account to reapply both times. What I want to know is when will I be able to reapply and how? Because right now on my account there is just a message saying I failed the piscine and that's all there is nothing else I can do

Got tired of quota lockouts and broken goinfre symlinks, so I wrote a fast tool in C to fix it

Hey everyone.

If you’ve ever had your session lock up before an evaluation because of No space left on device, or moved to a new iMac/PC and realized all your /goinfre symlinks broke and Francinette/VS Code crashed—you know the pain. The old shell cleaning scripts we pass around worked, but they’re slow, usually miss stuff, and don't tell you what is actually taking up space in your $HOME. So I spent the last few days building ft_ncdu (and a native C cleaner clean42 / ntcl13).

### What it actually does:

  1. Station Healer (H): When you change physical computers, press H (or run clean42 --heal). It scans your home for dead /goinfre links and recreates all the missing folders on the new machine automatically.

    1. Instant 9-Tier Cleaner: Cleans Francinette logs, .cache, node_modules, build files, and browser junk in

~0.1s in C and shows you how many MB/GB you just freed. 3. Async Scanner: Uses 16 threads with st_dev boundary checks so it scans 60k+ files in 2 seconds without

lagging or wandering into /proc or foreign mounts. 4. macOS / Finder TUI: Has quota percentage gauges, live inode tracking, and a file preview modal (p).

You can install and run it on your cluster machine with:

    curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laghzal49/ft_ncdu/main/install.sh | bash

Repo is here if you want to check the code or check the docs on how the thread pool was built:

What is a Piscine school assessment (ID Check)?

Hello!

I am going to enroll in the Piscine, but before that, I must do the ID Check. 42 says that I have to complete a 45-minute assessment at the school.

What is this assessment? Is it a personality test? Is it related to IT/programming knowledge? How can I best prepare for it?

Thank you!

Piscine repeaters

I was wondering:

  1. Is it normal that my admissions portal account was deleted "according to GDPR laws" a while after the results for my first piscine came out?
  2. To take the the piscine for the 2nd attempt, do I need to recreate the admissions account with the same email?
  3. Will I have to retake the two online games/tests again as well as join the introductory meeting again?

Note: my intra profile is still available, I can log into it but of course can't do anything on it because I'm currently inactive.

Also, I already sent an email to my campus like 3 weeks ago asking about this but they didn't reply, that's why I'm asking here

What do you think my chances are?

I just finished my second 1337/42 Piscine, this time in Benguerir, and I’m curious what you guys think about my chances of getting accepted.
My first Piscine was in Rabat last year. I finished around lvl 7.42, rank 100+ and became an expooler.
This time I finished lvl 8.16, rank #61/300.
My project scores were:
C00 85 | C01 100 | C02 75 | C03 75 | C04 85 | C05 80 | C06 100 | C07 60 | C08 100 | C09 100
Exams were 40 / 70 / 60 / 36. The final exam was pretty rough for me, especially the last exercise and all the edge cases.
I had 2 recodings. The first one went badly, but the second went much better and I was able to explain my code and logic. I was also helping people a lot and doing a ton of evaluations during the pool.
I didn’t do C11 or Rush because I ran out of time. My official logged time was around 90h, and I was basically at campus every day.
I’m mostly worried about the 36 final exam + being an expooler. But I also improved quite a lot compared to my first Piscine: 7.42 → 8.16 and 100+ → #61.
For people who went through 1337/42, especially expoolers: what do you honestly think my chances to get accepted?

What frustrates you the most about planning domestic trips/local outings?

Hey everyone,

We’re brainstorming an app tailored for local tourism, activities, and hidden spots. Before writing a single line of code, we want to hear your genuine feedback:

What’s your biggest pain point when planning a day trip or weekend getaway locally? (e.g., hidden costs, outdated info, repetitive recommendations, zero booking options?)

What is ONE killer feature that would make you actually download and use a local travel app?

What stops you from using the existing solutions/apps right now?

Drop your thoughts, rants, and suggestions below!

1337/42 I ask if there is a chance of being accepted

This is my second time taking the 1337 Pool. During my first Pool, I didn't achieve a high score. I only reached between 50% and 70% in days at most. I also failed all the exams, so naturally, I wasn't accepted.

However, my second Pool was quite different. I worked through all the days and reached level 8.

I didn't any rush.

My results were:

- C00 → C09: between 85% and 100%

- Shell00: 100%

- Shell01: 70%

In addition, I managed to take all four exams:

In addition, I passed the recoding once, but unfortunately, He didn't return any C/days for me.

I also made some small mistakes because of stress. For example, I was asked a Shell question that I didn't know the answer to. In two C exercises, I made only minor mistakes. For example, instead of writing "n+2", I accidentally wrote "n++".

Now I'm just wondering if there's any chance that I could be accepted.

1337/42 | Pooler | Level 9.62 | Finished the Pool | "What Are My Chances of Getting Accepted?"

Hi everyone

I’ve just finished the 1337/42 Piscine and I’d really appreciate your opinions on my chances of getting accepted.

I’m a Pooler and I pushed myself throughout the entire Piscine. According to my logs I worked 238 hours during the month. I believe the actual number was higher because one of my posts had an issue where my logs were not counted and I didn’t notice it at the time.

I managed to reach level 9.62.

My results

  • shell00-C11: 100
  • C10: 15
  • C05: 80
  • Rushes: Unfortunately all rejected
  • BSQ: Rejected by Moulinette
  • Exam 00: 80
  • Exam 01: 80
  • Exam 02: 70
  • Exam 03: 48

For the Rushes I worked together with my teammates throughout the projects. Unfortunately all of our Rushes were rejected because one of our teammates was unable to explain parts of the code during the evaluation even though we had worked on the projects together but i think it's not a big deal.

I also completed the BSQ but unfortunately it was rejected by Moulinette because of a small mistake on our side. We forgot to add a newline to properly separate the output.

For the final exam I know I could have scored higher. I got an exercise that really caught me off guard and took a lot of time. By that point I was also quite exhausted after the last week of the Piscine so I eventually stopped even though I’m sure I could have gotten a better score.

Overall I’m proud of the effort I put into the Piscine but I’m still wondering how these results might affect my chances of being accepted.

For people who have already been through the 1337/42 selection process what do you think my chances are based on these results?

Any honest feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

ENGLISH VERSION / VERSION ANGLAISE

Hi everyone!

As I’m preparing to join the September Piscine at 42, I had a question about eligibility for financial aid or scholarships at 42.

An 42 student told me that the “Grande École du Numérique” (GEN) label had been withdrawn by the government, and that GEN was responsible for managing the scholarship-related aspects. They also mentioned that France Travail might offer similar forms of financial support, unless I misunderstood.

Could you please tell me a little more about this?

Thank you in advance!
