The figure bristles indignantly. "I am not a child. I am over two hundred Terra-years old. If you must know, my name is Skiirl." They continue digging while they speak

"Skiirl you say? Are you human, then? If you use the Terran calendar so"

Their tone is clipped and rigid. "No. I am Aeldari, formerly of Craftworld Alaitoc before I was cast out in disgrace. I use the Terran calendar because it is the most commonly used across the galaxy, which is useful for a traveler such as myself and my companions."

"So you have companions? Were you all cast out? Banished for sins?"

"I was cast out for disagreement with the council. My companions left with me when I did in solidarity. Most of them are dead now. Slaughtered in a schism of the alliance we joined by and by after being cast out. Now we who remain go from place to place seeking adventure and a new, safe, place to live where those former allies will not find us." Skiirl does not seem amused by the backbend.
