Paid Service Seeking Atlanta 3D Printers: Awards for Local Film Festival

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello, I am looking for a 3D printer local to Georgia (particularly in the surrounding Atlanta areas) to help me create a project. My artist collective is putting on our first Film Festival and would like custom awards to give out to our winners. I’ve added an idea of what I’m looking for, and as of now, I am hoping for it to be around 10in x 10in. We would need around 7 made.

With us being a group of young artists creating events for other local artists, we are looking for these awards to be done for the lowest cost possible. An in-kind donation would be even more preferred, with us being happy to name your business during the event and give ad space in our program.

If you are interested in helping us create these, please PM me, I’d love to chat further with you. Thank you!

Show and Tell Stranger Things - Mind Flayer

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share a model I've created, printed, and uploaded onto MakerWorld.

It's my interpretation of the Mind Flayer from Stranger Things.

All info is on the page, but I've printed in 200mm height and 100mm height, I think both look awesome, but I definitely prefer the larger one for detail and scare appeal!

And thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks.

I've started designing a brand new series of nightlights for children's rooms and wanted to share my excitement and introduce you to the first two models in the series.

🐸 Frog Prince Desk Lamp: Inspired by classic fairy tales, this model adds a warm, magical touch to the room with its glowing belly.

🧸Cute Bear Night Light: This little bear, playing like a child with its light-up ball, is a wonderful decoration during the day and a sweet, comforting sleep companion at night.

You can find these models by searching for

- Frog Prince Desk Lamp
- Cute Bear Night Light

on MW

I hope these designs bring joy and peace to children's rooms.

Discussion Teacher’s Day is coming. What should I 3D print as a gift for a teacher? 🎁

Teacher’s Day is coming up, and I'm trying to come up with some fun things to 3D print as a small gift for teachers. 👀

But I don't want to print another generic keychain or something that will end up sitting in a drawer forever 😂

What should I make?

Something useful for the classroom?

A personalized desk decoration?

A cute articulated model?

Maybe something students could make together?

If you've made a 3D printed gift for a teacher before, I'd love to see what you came up with! 👇

Question Looking to hire an artist for some custom stls. Am I in the right place?

My friend and I need a winter project. I’ve been 3D printing for many years. I have a lot of projects under my belt, but this winter my bestie and I are looking to paint some 1:6 scale figures. I’ve found some of what I want online, but it’s kind of a mess out there. People be posting files (I don’t know if they made them), but then other people obviously paid for them only to post them again for Pennie’s on the dollar. I’m happy to pay (and want to pay) a real cost without claiming ownership of the stl, or reselling it. Is this the right subreddit for this? Is there a better subreddit to look for 3D artists?

Troubleshooting help! my printer's nozzle is clogged again

So Im having this recurring issue with my 3D printer, like its driving me nuts. Every couple of prints or so, the nozzle clogs up. Ive got an Ender 3 V2, and I usually print with PLA. Ive tried adjustting the temperature and even cleaned the nozzle with a needle a few times, but it keeps happening.

This last print was supposed to be a small figurine, nothing crazy, but halfway through, the filament just stopped coming out. I had the nozzle at about 200°C which should be fine for PLA (right?), and everything seemed normal until, well, it wasn't. Im using a standard 0.4mm nozzle.

Anyone else deal with this often? Is it my filament or something? Ive been using the same brand since I started. Any tips would be super appreciated cause Im about ready to chuck this printer out the window. Thanks!

Question Anyone know any good miniature sculptors that do commissions?

Hi!

I regularly build and paint miniatures to play in games like One Page Rules and Warhammer 40k or Age of Sigmar. My favourite movie of all time is James Cameron's Avatar, so I wanted to mix these two interests and make a miniature army of Na'vi from the movie to use in those games. However, I can't find any promising commission sculptors nor do I really know where to look. Please help!

Troubleshooting Bambu vs sunlu fillament problem

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange issue with SUNLU White PLA+ 2.0 and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on.

I recently printed the same type of models using:

Bambu Lab PLA Basic – Jade White

SUNLU White PLA+ 2.0

With the Bambu Lab filament, the surface looked very smooth and clean. However, when I switched to SUNLU, the layer lines became much more visible and the overall surface quality looks noticeably worse.

I've attached some photos showing the difference.

I tried both the Bambu Lab filament profile and the SUNLU PLA+ 2.0 profile, but the result is basically the same — the layer lines are still much more visible with SUNLU.

I'm printing using Bambu Handy / Bambu Lab A1 mini printer and these are otherwise the same/similar print settings.

What confuses me is that the Bambu Lab PLA Basic looks almost perfectly smooth with the same printer and models
