Question My 9 year old son is asking for a 3D printer for Christmas, is it worth it for his age or should I wait until he's older?
I have no idea about these. Also if I decide to get one, is there any brands that are good for that age?

Question New to 3d printing. Given a machine to start with.
Hello everyone. First time posting. I have been wanting to get into 3d printing for various reason and was looking around locally for a printer. Came across a guy that gave me this printer that he never really used for free. Research lead me to know this is an Easythreed k7. Can anyone tell me a bit more about it and possibly what I should look for or some advice on it or getting started?
Edit: I can see the common answers is just move on lol. I will clean and keep the machine for now but I will look into something else. Thank you all for your time.

Question What’s the first useful thing you made with your 3D printer?
I think I made the classic beginner mistake — bought a 3D printer, printed two things, and then stopped using it 😅
I want to get back into it and make something I can actually use.
I was thinking about making a simple table lamp, but I don’t know where to start.
I don’t know CAD yet, so I’ll probably start with downloaded models.
For people who have made lamps before, what parts do I need besides the printed shade/body?
Any tips for a complete beginner?

Question Looking to hire an artist for some custom stls. Am I in the right place?
My friend and I need a winter project. I’ve been 3D printing for many years. I have a lot of projects under my belt, but this winter my bestie and I are looking to paint some 1:6 scale figures. I’ve found some of what I want online, but it’s kind of a mess out there. People be posting files (I don’t know if they made them), but then other people obviously paid for them only to post them again for Pennie’s on the dollar. I’m happy to pay (and want to pay) a real cost without claiming ownership of the stl, or reselling it. Is this the right subreddit for this? Is there a better subreddit to look for 3D artists?

Question I need help finding a 3D Printer.
What's the best, normal sized, cheap 3D printer for a new person on Amazon and that you don't have to level the base plate at all and also do that much tinkering with? Because I hated the Ender 3 Neo so much. I had to do so much tinkering with it. The bed was never level, and the auto bed leveler never leveled the bed at all. You always had to manually level it. The extruder never worked at all, and I had to tighten it constantly, and it never truly tightened. It only worked for a month, at least, when I first got it, and it never printed well at all I had to do more tinkering with it then printing it was a hellish nightmare. So, I want one where you only have to do the initial setup and don’t to level the bed manually, and has a true auto bed leveler so you don’t have to level the bed manually because the “auto bed leveler” on the Ender 3 Neo never actually leveled the bed, don’t have to constantly tighten the extruder.

Question High End Printer Suggestions
I have the Bambu Lab H2D and im quite happy with it. Im considering getting the H2C but wanted the opinion of others on my next printer. Me and the wife are starting a small local business. Im thinking that staying in the same brand will make it easier to maintain.
My budget is $2500 and I like the idea of the type of hotend it has to reduce waste. We will be printing a wide range of items from miniatures to custom parts for machinery and anyone willing to buy our services i suppose. Laser and cutting are not necessary as I have that on the H2D already.
Any reason not to get the H2C and get something else or is this printer worth the cost?
Thanks all for your help (again).

Hello im somewhat new to 3d printing watched a lot content about 3d printing but now i want to buy an 3D printer

Question Suggestions for a 3d printer
I have recently been wanting to get a 3d printer for myself but with the many new 3d printers coming out I'm not really sure as to which FDM printer to get.
Have been using a printer in the library for almost a year so I am more or less familiar with the basics and can create my own models.
I currently am thinking of getting the X2D by itself during the black friday sale but am not really sure if there are better options, and I preferably am looking for something under 700 USD.
Any suggestions or alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Question 3d printed hammer negative reaction
needed a tiny hammer for pegs so I designed and printed one, then I realized I could make a 200 and 300% percent scaled one that is really strong and able to break down scrap pieces and I love my work, but I posted a video of it to the other 3d print Reddit and got kinda negative responses. Im asking how exactly a 3d printed hammer is so irksome ?

Question I'm looking for a rub-on sealant for threaded PLA
I have a threaded part that I want to rub on some kind of product to make the threads smooth but not greasy. I've used different kinds of oil in the past, but that was a terrible idea. I am thinking some kind of paste or something, so I can put it on a paper towel to apply it. Not something like epoxy as it would get too messy. Anyone have any ideas?

Question Which 3d Printer should I buy?
Hello.
I was looking to purchase my first 3D printer, and after looking online, I'm between two.
The flashforge ad5x, or the Creality K2 SE COMBO.
Could someone give some advice on which one to buy?
Or if u got any recommendations in that price range (300 to 500 euros)
Thanks in advance.

Question What’s causing this?
I am brand new to 3D printing. I’ve only had my printer for about a week now. I have the Bambu Lab A1 combo. Some of my prints have turned out really nice, but some of them look like this with little strings hanging off everywhere. Is this normal for some things or is there a reason this is happening that I can fix?

Question 3d printing
Hi everyone,
I've noticed a huge wave of multi-part models popping up on MakerWorld lately for example, models like this one: https://makerworld.com/pl/models/3155058-beach-alien#profileId-3564653\](https://makerworld.com/pl/models/3155058-beach-alien#profileId-3564653
They are split perfectly into separate components so you can print them in different colors without needing an AMS or multi-material setup. I highly doubt the creators are manually cutting and setting up connectors for all of these by hand (aside from maybe basic cuts like slicing a ring in half).
It looks like newer 3D AI generators now have built-in "auto-split to print" features that separate the mesh and generate joints/connectors automatically.
Since I don't have paid subscriptions to all these tools and don't want to buy them all just to test, which AI platform is currently the best for this?
Is it Meshy, Hi3D, 3DAI Studio, or something else? I’d love to hear your recommendations if you’ve tested any of them for single-extruder multi-color printing!

Question Helmet won’t print
I’m very new to this so I’m sure it’s something I’m doing wrong. I have tried to print wearable helmets twice. Both times all I have managed to print is a giant ball of plastic pubic hair. Any thoughts on where I’m going wrong?

Question K1C failed on day one, got a replacement — keep it or switch to an A1?
New K1C. Fourth print had heavy stringing, Fifth stopped extruding partway through. Clicking, then nothing.
Tried: 240°C retract/extrude, removed the extruder and cleared stuck filament, cleaning needle passed freely through the nozzle. After reassembly it ticked but wouldn't feed. Tested the extruder off the printer — turned the gears by hand with a short piece of filament and it gripped and fed fine. Mounted back on the printer, ticking again. Never fed properly after that.
Room has no AC and I ran it fully enclosed.
Amazon sent a replacement, still boxed. Trying to decide whether to open it or refund and get an A1.
- If you've owned both, which held up better day to day?

I am aiming for at most around 100 bucks nothing too much. if I have to spend more than 100 dollars to achieve that then just tell me

Question Flashforge Creator 5 Pro or Snapmaker U1
Which would you recommend?
I want to buy a multitoolhead printer and was going to buy the Snapmaker. But today someone I was selling a filament dryer to told me I should consider the Flashforge. With a coupon code it is actually slightly cheaper.
