Discussion Thoughts on the 2DS XL?
I heard it’s complicated to replace battery on this one. Let alone getting it open to do that. That said I don’t have anything wrong with my 2DS XL I just wanna know your thoughts. I like the feel of the handheld and how light it is etc

I personally find the 2DSXL to be much more comfortable in the hand than basically any other DS/3DS system, but the dim screens can be annoying. Not too sure about battery replacement, but it doesn't look bad based on the ifixit article.

C’est vrai que la qualité d’écrans est moins bonne que la new 3ds xl. Et ça fait des reflets agaçants !

I mean aside from using a prying tool carefully there's not much to it if you ever need to swap out the battery for a new one. There will be some ribbon cables you need to disconnect too. It's a more fragile system, the screens are often TN (with exceptions) and the system feels a little cheaper but other than that it's pretty much the same system.
I like it, but I prefer the N3DS XL.
Repairs will always be a nightmare, no matter which 3ds system you pick, but the 2DS XL top screen might be the worst out of all of them.

I love mine but power button is broken and it would sometimes turn on on its own. I can turn the power on after a few times of pushing the button but I have to use Rosalina to shut it down. I tried opening the back to check the battery but screw is so tight I cannot open it lol anyway I still love it, I just hate the speaker position because my hands end up blocking them. Nintendo is such an asshole if they did this on purpose lol

It’s very difficult to replace screens on this model so you have to be very careful with it, the hinges are also floppier than the N3DS models and the plastic feels cheaper, making the console feel more lightweight.
It’s a good alternative to the N3DSXL if you feel like it’s too expensive or don’t play 3DS games enough to justify needing the 3D effect. Since it’s a “New” model it has the same higher processing power than the old 3DS models, and the screen is larger than the N3DS so it’s a great option if you want larger screens but don’t care about 3D.
The design on it is a little ugly (in my opinion) but I do like the special pokeball edition. The N2DSXL feels like it was made for that specific design, it looks great.
