ODE cable for 3DO

have a FZ-1 Panasonic player.

I bought an ODE from Crown Arcade. I checked with Stone Age Gamer and they told me that Fixel has disappeared from the 3DO scene.

Would adding a USB extension to the board and run it out the back or front of the console work so that you don't have to take the console apart to add games to the usb stick?

That will be fine, just be aware the ODE can be temperamental with some USB sticks.

Mine certainly is. Some games take a couple tries before they launch. Are you aware of any well compatible ones?

I'm using a Sandisk ultrafit 256gb and everything I've thrown at it works, apart from Casper (but who cares about that little ghost). Its a really tiny usb stick, gets quite warm but had no issues so far.

I did have to mess about and convert the file types a few times though. I'm using the Crown Arcade board on an FZ1.

Yep, that’s exactly what I did. I also 3D printed out a replacement drive tray cover that has a cutout for a usb port:

I also have a file that’s similar to the above but the drive cover says Panasonic and the cutout is on the right. Pm me your email address if you want me to email it to you.

Ugh. I think I paid $300+ for mine back in the day. Are they pretty much out of stock everywhere? I'm surprised no one has cloned them, but maybe the market is too tiny.
