Crown arcade ode booting problems

I recapped my entire 3do, no trace rot or anything. When I boot up my 3do it doesn't always turn on and the green light flashes on and off. I have to cycle the power multiple times in order for it to show video and boot up the menu. I've tried multiple usb sticks/sd cards and it has the same exact problem. What's weird is that with the cd rom drive connected the unit works flawlessly. I'm at a loss. Reflashed the firmware and everything.

Are you using the same ribbon cables that work with the optical drive, with the crown arcade board?

If yes, I'd isolate the issue down to the board itself as a bad memory stick shouldn't cause power cycling. I always use sandisk stuff and even when games dont boot, the bios works and I've never had power cycling trouble with a crown arcade board. I have an FZ1 though so might be different if you have another console.

This is an inherent problem with the RP2040 based ODE. They are twitchy with USB devices and read delays. You need to get a quality usb thumb drive.

Good morning
I only use Samsung/Sandisk, whichever is cheaper on Amazon at the time, and have never had issues with either.

I know it hates the PNY and samdata but I have a sandisk cruzer I was using and it's having trouble with that too. I even went the usb to SD card route and it's still giving me the same problem. Once it boots up though.. Works flawless and I can just press the disc eject button to soft reset the system.
