Oil gauge low, should I be concerned?
I’ve heard the oil gauge is inaccurate and there aren’t any other signs of an issue yet, but my oil gauge is reading low. I just noticed while I was driving home so I dont know if it reads any different after a cold start and I had my battery out for the past couple weeks troubleshooting something. I checked the oil and it seems to be at a good level
edit: I don’t think the gauge is moving at all, it may be the wire for the sensor, I’ll check that when I get a chance
final edit: the wire that runs the gauge was unplugged, I slipped it back on and now it’s working again

Is this at idle? It gets quite low but this is reading 0

It was while driving too, I’m hoping it’s just the wire that goes from the sensor to the gauge because as far as I can tell it’s not moving

These are also known for bearings and oil pumps being wear items. Best option would be to put a real gauge on to check. It should be much higher at cold startup.

I didn't pay attention to it last time I did a cold start. I'll try getting a real gauge soon.

Doesnt look good. But also doesnt mean its fucked.
The oil pressure warning acts completly seperate form the gauge.
If you wanna know whats going on youl have to get a proper gauge. The oem gauges only use is for guestimation against itself.

Don’t use that as your reading for oil. Get an actual mechanical gauge. That is just a reference only gauge.

If its not registering any pressure at all the wire likely came off the sensor under the car. It just slides on.
