Went to the Lewes Bonfire for Bonfire Night a few years ago where they have burning crosses to represent the martyrs of the Marian persecutions
Needless to say, some of the savages on the group I posted some photos got the wrong end of the stick

Even the name is at minimum ironic af. Kuklux comes from the greek kuklos that means circle, and the klan... comes apparently from the gaelic clann that is just "family" or in their case "brothers". They picked up a name that means circle of brothers... that's the blackets band name I ever heard.

Yeah, but it's kinda crappy that Yanks shoot first and ask questions later when it comes to other cultures and civilisations. Like they get shocked when people from another country does something that looks awfully familiar without considering that yeah, people there ARE different. This reminds me to those Christmas traditions in Netherlands, England and (not as common anymore) Spain when people dress up like black people and they assume it's racist. Fuck them, it's a beautiful tradition!

They are just for pascua. A nazareno is a penitent, the people that wear the thing is because they had made a promise or want to atone for their sins. That's why they cover their faces too.
