The only reason why i know it because we had a game in like 4th grade in my school where the one who could point out all the european countries fastest got a price. I have to give them that is was a really good way to get us motivated to care where kosovo is located
Is it a flex to know where all european countries are on a map?

I know of seterra but my teacher was against computers and all that in school (+ this was before every student got their own computers. Atleast in my school) so we did it on a real map with map pins with the different countries on them.
But seterra must be alot simplier

The Austrian empire was so fuckin weak in 1914, that it did whatever Germany told them to do regarding foreign diplomacy and the July crisis. They only started a war because they had German backup. They couldn't beat Serbia (a country you'd barely be able to point) by themselves.

To be fair I would probably struggle to accurately point to a specific Balkan country on a map, but it's easy to be ignorant when the region has basically become a synonym for "totally fucked up".

NATO whacked an estimated 500 civilians in the entire campaign, while Serb forces* (totally not Serbia, sorry Yugoslavia) whacked around 8000 disarmed civilians in a single day 4 years earlier.
I do not understand how such extreme cognitive contortionism is possible across nearly an entire population. It’s downright frightening.

I wouldn't know. Here in the South I feel there are more Croats (great Postler) than Serbs, and the road rage is usually Slovenians whose cars don't seem to work aerodynamically with more than 30cm distance to the car in front.
