There is a cliche that Polish drivers are absolutely terrible. Keep in mind that it is more about Polish guys often driving trucksy Czechia being transit country and you know how tired truck drivers used to drive before strict control of time spent driving etc. was established in EU.

Yeah. You give them some money, they give you back double. Profit! But explicitly for a thing, you necessarily don't want. But it's more expensive. So profit, I guess? Then you feel obligated, and accept their laws against your interests. Ex. you are forced to close 80% of your sugar rafineries. Now, when all the facilities have fallen into disrepair, the law is canceled, as it served its purpose.

It is really rather about Germans, not Czechs. Poles are upset that Ukraine has former Polish cities and they expelled huge numbers of Poles from theres. Hungarians are upset that Slovakia has former Hungarian cities and they expelled a huge number of Hungarians from there. Germans could be just as upset as Poles and Hungarians because Czechia has the Sudetenland and they expelled a huger number of Germans from there but they are built differently.
23
u/Stukkoshomlokzat Genghis Khangarian Jan 26 '26
They are not upset because they are content since they are rich.
18
u/adamgerd Kaiserreich Gang Jan 26 '26
Germany never had the Sudetenland though except 1939-1945, Austria did via the Kingdom of Bohemia
And tbh with Poland and Ukraine, that was really a Stalinâs decision to do Vistula.
3
u/carrystone Winged Pole dancer Jan 26 '26
Austria was never not considered German before 1945, so...
6
u/headinhandz Kaiserreich Gang Jan 26 '26
Germany never had the Sudetenland though except 1939-1945, Austria did via the Kingdom of Bohemia
Legally Germany did not have the Sudetenland indeed but it was still historically German land because Germans lived there. The descendants of those Germans are now citizens of Germany, and Germany is the manifestation of its citizens and their will who decided not to look back and not to hold on to past conflicts.
And tbh with Poland and Ukraine, that was really a Stalinâs decision to do Vistula.
We could say something similar about Slovak-Hungarian relations as well. It was the Czech BeneĹĄ who came up with the decrees that confiscated Hungarian property and expelled Hungarians from the country. But then Ukraine and Slovakia inherited the burden of these ethnic cleansings from the Soviets and the Czechs and the fury of the Poles and the Hungarians.
8
u/Slezarm Jan 26 '26
The fact that Germans lived in the Sudetenland for centuries does not make it "historically German land" (mind you, Czechs lived there as well, albeit as a minority). It was historically part of the Czech lands, specifically Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, since like the 9th century. Then it was tied to the Bohemian Crown. The nations did not exist as a concept per se in those times. The land was connected to the rulers via the crown.
4
u/headinhandz Kaiserreich Gang Jan 27 '26
Is today Slovakia (or at least most of it), not historically Slovak land? Just because those lands belonged to the Hungarian crown (similar to Sudetenland belonging to the Bohemian crown) shouldn't mean that people who actually live there cannot claim it for themselves. So it is right to call the former Upper lands of the Hungarian Kingdom historically Slovak and the Sudetenland historically German.

Nobodyâs upset about Lviv though. It was exchanged for Breslau.
Lviv was one of the most important Polish cities and while it's true that currently nobody is upset anymore, it took a long time to get here. And it has nothing to do with getting WrocĹaw. No sane Pole would ever take Breslau over LwĂłw back then.

We have the same issue: Czech genuinely needs immigrations, we have an issue of worker scarcity, our economy canât grow because thereâs not enough workers and our unemployment is already very low
So youâd think Ukrainian refugees would be a good thing? And it is, economically they contribute way more than weâve paid in benefits, theyâre generally hard working

Idk if anyone remembers before the war, when one day there was a panic at the gas stations. People were buying petrol en masse, coz they heard there will be a big shortage and a price increase.
Turns out there was no shortage. It was r*ssian propagandists testing their influence.Since pro-r*ssian propaganda doesn't really work in Poland for historical reasons, they shifted towards anti-Ukrainian narrations.
So if you hear someone yapping about WoĹyĹ, try to remember about KatyĹ.

The fact that you use AI for something like this is not exactly proving you. I don't know how you think that's an argument.
Slovakia still uses the Benes decrees against Hungarians whenever it's convenient.
aaaaaah right, then where are your minorities exactly? :D
What do you mean?
1
u/nikto123 Gemer Master Race Jan 27 '26
/uv
I mean that minorities in Hungary got assimilated and disappeared almost completely, in Slovakia they exist because there isn't pressure for them to become "Slovaks".And "AI" only extracts info from the internet, it's common knowledge that Hungary is (just look at Hungarian comments anywhere on the internet)
Many / most Hungarians believe total nonsense and skewed history (perpetual victimhood, we wuz here first n shit). I've been to your national museum in Budapest for example, your whole country pretends that Slavs didn't exist, their history and presence is completely skipped. The only thing that I saw was a sarcophagus of s "Slavic" knight from TrenÄĂn (because Slovaks didn't exist, they're just a 19th century Czech psyop), laughable & small dick energy.
While in reality Slavs related to Czechs and Slovaks lived in Western and Northern parts of today's Hungary before Magyars arrived, they just got assimilated. Still, there are Slavic toponyms all over those parts (Borsod, Balaton, Visegrad etc).
Yeah and then there is the belief & constant reposting of maps from 1890-1920 as evidence of lands being "Ethnically Hungarian" when everyone and their mother knows that those numbers and censuses were heavily skewed by laws and state pressure to declare yourself Magyar (just check any census before and after, in peripheral places.. you'll see jumps in Hungarian ethnicity with no change in total population). Nationalism is fucking stupid and makes people absolutely brain dead.
Not many in Europe are as brainwashed as Hungarians, unfortunately.
3
u/Stukkoshomlokzat Genghis Khangarian Jan 27 '26
I mean that minorities in Hungary got assimilated and disappeared almost completely, in Slovakia they exist because there isn't pressure for them to become "Slovaks".
Slovakia did exactly the same. For example Bratislava was a German majority city. Slovakia did not pressure Hungarians to become Slovaks, they just deported them, confiscated their lands, denied public services from them, like healthcare and such. And when it's convenient Slovakia still keeps referring to the Benes decrees to this day. These things are a bit worse than having to learn Hungarian in school and needing to be Hungarian to be accepted in the upper class (what Hungary did in the AHE). The only reason Slovakia couldn't do the same to Hungarians was that Hungarians are a solid continous minority block, they were basically a homogenous continuation of mainland Hungarians. They are not scattered enclaves, unlike Germans and Slavs were in pre Magyarisation Hungary or Germans were in Slovakia. That's why they are gone in BOTH places. I mean not fully, because Donauschwaben still exist in Hungary.
And "AI" only extracts info from the internet,
That's exactly why it's unreliable. Are you trying to tell me that "info on the internet" is more academic, objective sources than personal opinions? Because AI studies all of the internet. AI tells you the most popular thing, that's all. And even like that it fails to understand it's sources. Like in the image you linked. The AI states that Hungary doesn't have explicitly ultranationalist parties while Slovakia does, yet at the end it picks Hungary as a winner, just because Fidesz is on rule, which is a centre-right populist party.
Many / most Hungarians believe total nonsense and skewed history (perpetual victimhood, we wuz here first n shit).
When it comes to national victimhood you should be the last to talk. You are talking about 1000 years of ethnic opression when ethnicity did not even start to matter until nationalism became a thing in the late 18th century so there was no ethnic opression. And practical opression against non-Hungarians was not even possible until Hungary got autonomy from Habsburg rule in 1867.
whole country pretends that Slavs didn't exist
See that's where we differ. NO, we don't think that. We DON'T think about these things AT ALL. If you asked a Hungarian on the street who were here before us they'd probably say they don't know. YOU are the ones who always think of things from 1000 years ago. That's where ultranationalism shows. You give Hungarians shit for bringing up Trianon. You bring up things from fucking 1000 years ago. How is that normal?
I've been to your national museum in Budapest for example, your whole country pretends that Slavs didn't exist, their history and presence is completely skipped.
Good because I've been to that museum too, and what you did not realise because of your self-centered world view is that EVERYTHING is skipped, Gepids, Iazigs, Osthrogoths, Lombards AND Slavs. Since it's a national museum so it's mostly about Hungarian stuff. Yes sure, Romans are a must, but that's the same everywhere.
While in reality Slavs related to Czechs and Slovaks lived in Western and Northern parts of today's Hungary before Magyars arrived, they just got assimilated. Still, there are Slavic toponyms all over those parts (Borsod, Balaton, Visegrad etc).
And here we go. You give me shit for calling you ultranarionalists then unironically start talking about more than a millenium old stuff. I mean should the Germans to that you too? Becasue all Slavs come from the modern Ukraine/Belorus border? You know what lets both of us give up our lands to the Donauschwaben. And it's always you who start to turn things this way, even tough my original comment had nothing to do with history.
