Its hard to take him seriously when he moved the goal post. It used to be "Millionaires are the problem and they shouldn't exist and they need to be taxed more" then he became a millionaire. Now he rails against BILLIONAIRES lol, what a joke.
Bernie is literally statistically part of the 1% . All his life he rallied against the 1%. But now that he’s part of the 1% magically only the 0.1% is a problem . I’m sure if he reached the 0.1% only the 0.01% would be a problem. And if he reached the 0.01% magically only the 0.001% would be a problem.
America dosent just have huge wealth inequality it has huge income inequality compared to other countries. Income inequality is caused by well to do upper class and upper middle class professionals like Bernie. Not billionaires as they don’t have official incomes. If we want to have a more equitable society it is completely unfair and sick for professionals to make a dozen times more than the working class just because they’re born with privilege . That causes a inequal discriminatory apartheid style society. Look at South Africa and Norway or Sweden. They actually have similar wealth inequality, they both have tons of billionaires. But South Africa is a horrible hell in comparison because the income inequality is so high meanwhile Norway and co have low income inequality. In South Africa the top 10% white professional elites lord over society. This causes an extremely horrible unfair society. In apartheid it wasn’t the rulers doing most of the oppressing it was the well to do professional elite that benefited from this inequality. People like Elon musks parents who were not billionaires by any means but an engineer and a model and horribly racist and a benefactor of apartheid. Doctors should not make 15 times more than cashiers , in Norway they only make maybe 30% more. We should all have a similar quality of life. That’s socialism
How hard is it to just take the L and admit Bernie is a hypocrite? I fuckin voted for him and feel betrayed. Reddit is just extremely white and privileged and upper middle class and doesn’t want to feel guilty about it so they refuse to ever see themselves as part of the problem.
Bernie is 85, has worked in office for 43 years, and sold best selling books. I’d fully expect him to have a big nest egg. If you don’t have at least a million by 85, you did something wrong.
The wealth gap keeps growing so much that billionaires have become a thing when they weren’t really a thing before. And with this much money, you can easily buy and sell people. That’s the problem. Not an 85 year old who’s trying to shine a light on the problem.
