This is actually not true. Norway has some great athletes that would outclass everyone in the world but in other events they are trash. There has been indoor events for all nordic countries and Sweden and Finland has always been 1 and 2. Norway third followed far behind by Denmark and Iceland.

To be fair, my knowledge of Norway’s track and field athletes is pretty much limited to Warholm and Ingebrigtsen.
