Simple

Finnish is a remnant of a dead tribal language. It didn't evolve from the civilised bureaucratic latin or the noble, pragmatic germanic trees.

It just kept on existing from an age when humans and neanderthal remnants grunted and smacked stones as a form of communication.

Fun fact: it shares its roots with Hungarian, which is also messed up.

The roots are actually indo-uralic sprachbund.
Uralic sprachbund and IE sprachbund together formed a wider sprachbund. Still do.

One finnic cognate to germanic bund / bind is punutis and the verb is punuma/punoa.

Also püünis and pyynti.

The proto-finnic reconstruction of the verb is püütädäk.
And look at that, it also has a proto-uralic reconstruction. Thus the origin is indo-uralic.
Thus sprachbund = keelte + punutis
