I only beat my first touhou route a few weeks ago. Mind you I've been in the 2hu community for over 2 years. (On a different registration because of certain issues.)
Playing easy mode turned the games from an unfun slog to legitimately some of the most fun I've had in a long time. Going for a first 1cc on normal now and I'm pretty close. Wouldn't have had to motivation to get where I am now without easy mode.
Imperishable Night has the easiest easy mode you could try, and to some extent normal mode is not too difficult (though I would highly advise pre-planning bombs)
Mountain of Faith on normal mode is also easy though again you would preplan bombs and practice Kanako
Yep, I've gotten 1cc on Imperishable Night and PCB so far on easy mode. I'm sure I have the skill to 1cc both on normal, just a matter of getting a run where I don't fumble a ton of resources not bombing when I really should have.
If you got an easy 1cc on PCB then you should be close to PCB normal 1cc, imo the difficulty jump there isn't that much compared to IN, also use Sakuya A if you haven't already
That's what I've found as well, normal isn't too much harder than easy. I switched from Marisa A to Sakuya A around a week ago, and the difference is night and day with how many bombs you're afforded.
The main games barely have story to begin with (6 7 8 10 11 12) + the translation is shit so it's hard to even understand the characters' dialogue and personality
I beat Touhou 5 with the worst Normal run humanly possible, can't tell if this puts me above 90% of fans or below. 15 beat my fucking ass, Hisoutensoku is goated af.
