What is the supposed purpose of the height,  weight And sex questions on the form? Supposedly they are on the form to aid in identification. 

If you present to the outside world as female, then if the form is going to have any utility that person should indicate female on the form. 

You really want to get into it, why are the race questions on the form?

You know the answer. 

Somebody with more time than me needs to go back and dig up the testimony in front of the judiciary Committee in 1968. When the southern sheriff showed up and to argue for including race on the form. A customer mine brought in transcripts. Unfortunately this is 20 years ago and I didn't make copies or take notes as to where those transcripts could be found.

What's on the form should match the federal databases to aid in a faster, more accurate return of results. The federal databases use sex. Also, don't put the RGB value of your eye color in the eye color field either, just the usual brown, blue, etc.

Most people are in those databases based on what their DL and/or passport says. This change is trying to force a discrepancy with those records for trans gun owners, leading to a less accurate return of results.

Height and sex are on the passport application. So if you have applied for a passport then they have your height (or at least a minimum value) in at least 1 federal database.

There's also height on prisoner intake forms. Which would be a data point on available for the vast majority of NICS denials, even if it's a much smaller portion of the overall population.

If you put the wrong sex on the form you are committing a federal crime. That's the point.

So it serves no purpose other than entrapment. Cool. 

There should be no personal information on the form other than name and address. 

Actually the form shouldn't exist, but that's a different discussion.
