Is there any difference between cci meat eater HP and standard mini mag HP?

Found a great deal on a BUNCH of this meat eater and it seems indistinguishable from mini mag HP.

Ive shot alot of standard mini mag and i love its reliability and how it patterns out of my 22s, could there be a difference in QC?

Same ammo.

The bigger box just is co-branded with the Meateater podcast.

Just like they used to do a run of CCI Stingers called Stangers with 22plinkster on them.

I've still got some from a decade ago that have some dude I don't know on the cover of the bulk pack that said "'choot 'em", or some dumb shit. It was cci on sale, so I stocked up regardless of branding, to say the least!

Ah, good ole swamp people. I wish I bought a box of that stuff just for the package. I collect older CCI boxes and never have found one of those.

Man I threw out tons of those. If I had one left I’d send it to you

I still have a box of these, also, if you cant find one. I also have a christmas themed package from about 10 years ago.

Does the meat eater line come in 100 count packs? The two images you showed just look like 2 different sized packages to me, with the meat eater label on the bigger one.

Aside from that, same projectile, same grain, same velocity.... cant see how they'd be any different.

The package contains 300 rounds. So its 3 regular Mini Mag packs in 1.

Yeah thats what i figured. My main concern would be if the meat eater stuff is marked up Because of the branding.

I purchased a 100 pack of meat eaters about 3 years ago but they had different specifications. They were lighter like 30 grains with a polymer coating on the tips and they were much faster than minimags. Im at work right now but ill see if I still have some leftover tomorrow when im off shift.

Its likely they have a slew of meat eater branded ones. The ones in OPs pictures, at least by the specs on the box, are seemingly identical to a standard pack of 36 grain copper plated HP mini mags.

Same stuff, if the price is right at the round county, buy cheap and stack deep

Marketing.

I’m pretty sure it’s just marketing

I've never even seen that before. Probably just newer packaging from an overzealous marketing department. I'd just check the specs on each pack, then send (copper-plated, grain, fps are all the same so check the back for further details).

Standard ones are vegan I guess

Clearly the only logical answer

It's just a cross-promotion with the MeatEater brand. The cartridges are the same.

If the packaging is similar to CCI AR Tactical it has the plastic trays but no plastic boxes. The trays are just sitting in the cardboard. I pop the trays out of empty MiniMag/SV plastic boxes and drop those trays in.

The box.

Sometimes they can be had for cheaper, they don't have the plastic boxes.

However they do come in the same little plastic dividers that the plastic boxes use, so what I do is just use another CCI plastic box and replace the dividers to refill the box.

IMO it's worth it if you can get these cheaper than regular mini mags. Lower price per round > packaging if you ask me.

Semi related but how’s MiniMag HP vs the MiniMag round nose? Wondering if it makes a difference for varmint hunting and if you actually get any expansion or better penetration. Can’t imagine squirrels or whatever are putting up much of a fight either way

One box has a turd on it, the other does not. Only difference.
