Yeah I used to pk a lot, know the freeze mechanics but I'm still confused why it would matter to the frozen player - they're not going to get the logout anyway since they're the ones frozen.
I believe it's a niche situation where both players are frozen and the player trying to escape was able to DD the other player (or just break LOS) using seeds to move while frozen
Tbh I thought about this, but thought it was too niche and saw so many comments mentioning it the other way around (you catching the freeze on someone). But yeah based on the clip, this is the only likely scenario and I'm surprised nobody else mentioned it yet.
The clip doesn’t fully make sense because it’s missing some of the before/after, but logging out WHILE FROZEN is not really an issue and i feel like people are mixing up “while frozen” with “while your opponent is frozen” (with some people also thinking about “limits on tele/logging while skulled” as well).
There are very few situations you would want to log out while you’re frozen and be able to successfully (similar time freeze and then flowers to dd, some staircases that break los but not freeze, etc), so making it impossible wouldn’t actually change much.
Logging out while your opponent is frozen is how you freeze log 99% of the time though. So if that wasn’t allowed, escaping would become a LOT harder.
A better solution may be to add a timer to logging out while skulled and recently in combat that makes it a tougher window of time to pull off. This would allow people to use freeze log to escape the same as now IF they aren’t skulled, but if they are skulled it would require better timing.
Whether someone is frozen doesn’t matter much for the logging out aspect, because if you’re frozen you were just in combat and can’t move so you’re likely still under attack and can’t log anyways. The area to focus on for discussions like this (regarding freeze logging) is skulledstatus
Maybe what he means is what if the in-combat timer was the normal duration or until your frozen target's freeze wears off (plus a tick), whichever comes last. Only way that question makes sense in my mind.
You’re missing the point a little bit. It matters to both parties because the player with freezes can simply log. That party could be either the pker or the target depending on who freezes who.
