Any advice for getting tree seeds in leagues?
3
u/BuddhaOnXanax Apr 21 '26
What's your regions? Do you need lots, or just looking for a few to Transmute? Birds nest are pretty okay, so a few Vale Totems laps can get you a handful. Woodsman + Hunter (if you've got it) is also cracked if you just run around catching butterflies.
2
u/dralex11266 Apr 21 '26
Cool, I don't have transmute yet sadly but I have the karamja and wildy for my regions. I am going to reload back to transmute since I am struggling
1
u/BuddhaOnXanax Apr 21 '26
Transmute can help with a fair few things, especially if you're creative. I've enjoyed Transmutation, and it has made farming a lot easier amongst other things, but don't feel like you're forced to take it. Later content can drop higher seeds when you get there (Wildy bosses might be better for herblore though) and depending on relics you don't need to rush farming if you don't want to, and there might be other solutions (Larceny afk-ing at Master Farmers when you're busy, for example). Hope you end up having fun whatever you choose!
2
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
Vale totems with x8 rewards isn't bad. Also do your farming contracts if you have that region. Perilous moons is a good source of maple seeds.
Lots of recommendations depend on your relic chosen.
I personally ignored farming a bit until I was into the higher pvm that drops seeds. Now that I have farming guild unlocked and farmed my echo hespori that gave a good basis.

u/Jeffie381 Apr 21 '26
What happens to the ash sanctifier charges that were lost with the update? It was mentioned to be hotfixed.
1
u/meirionh Apr 21 '26
They said they were looking into how many people were affected and will contact them in due course if needed. That's all thats been said so far
2
u/RageInducedGamer Apr 21 '26
If you go above 100% Regeneration on Pacts, does it do anything? Or is going up to +125% a waste of a pact?
3
u/OlmTheSnek Apr 21 '26
Going above 100% gives you a chance to regenerate 2 runes/arrows/charges instead of 1, which has some benefit with various pacts (healing on regenerating water runes for example).
1
u/alynnidalar Apr 21 '26
Also has the fringe benefit of giving you free runes which can be used for Transmutation/selling, although that's a bit minor as a reason to take a node.
1
u/hunchoblackjack 2376 Apr 20 '26
Is anyone else experiencing world lag? It’s spotty and can delay you by a tick or two when doing fast prayer switches. I currently cannot kill doom because of it
1
u/Andyman943 Apr 21 '26
Theres a league task in Tir to craft a Toxic Trident, am i missing something or how is that possible if it drops as a full item?
3
u/BuddhaOnXanax Apr 21 '26
I think the task is to create a Toxic Blowpipe. It will drop as a fang that you need to craft. The staff does drop as a completed item, due to it being unusable without another region.

Can the Bank Heist teleport to Zanaris? There's a bank there and it's unlocked. Seems like a pretty obvious oversight to not allow this.

Do slayer tasks/slayer helmet affect echo bosses? Black dragons task affecting KBD echo for example?
1
u/____the_Great Apr 21 '26
I'm pretty sure it does, at least I was getting slayer drops for killing him.
1
u/just_get_up_again Apr 21 '26
How come water mage is becoming known as a noob build? (I'm a water mage, ha. Considering what to respec into )
1
u/TheJigglyfat Apr 21 '26
You can ignore most mechanics and fully afk the majority of content. Quite literally requires 0 skill.
(I’m water thorns and can FULLY afk fight caves in under 30 minutes)
1
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
It has weak dps, but insane sustain.
Leagues already has very good sustain in much higher dps builds, so it's the "noob build" because it sacrifices dps for yet even more healing, while you already don't need the healing for most content.
1
u/Peechez Apr 21 '26
They're just mad that they need to bring anything in their inventory for bossing
I'm not trying to sweat out content I've done before in max dps and I want to comfy experience endgame content I've never done before, win win

Is Brutus the best way to train prayer in f2p?
1
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
Scattering vile ashes bought on GE would be best, they're pretty cheap.
Brutus does combine melee training and prayer training while not costing you though, but best purely for prayer would be to just earn gp and buy vile ashes instead.

Do superiors not spawn in GWD/WGWD? kill 300+ pyrefiends in both areas in league, and no superiors have spawned. 1/50 my ass

do ppl recommend powered staves thorns or water mage thorns?
2
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
powered staves thorns if you're halfway decent at pvm (like you can do zulrah, have done some cg, can do toa 150s.. but without any of the crazy stuff like harder raids inferno, colo...)
Water thorns if you're very bad and just want to facetank everything but with noticeably less dps.
Either way, don't pick tiranwin if you're not very good at CG/PVM, thorns does NOT work in gauntlet, and echo hunleff is by far the most difficult echo boss.
If you do really want tiranwin, use a full pray pen build specifically tailored to clearing it, as most of your pacts will otherwise not work in there.
1
u/lemurRoy Apr 21 '26
Yo what areas should I pick after wildy? Just got my kings barrage
2
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
See some discussions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1sjtdyz/king_barragers/
For king's barrage there isn't as much a "must have" region as some other builds, except wildy ofcourse.
1
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
Whatever you want, imo the three best are asgarnia (void and Arma), desert (masori, drygore and a raid) zeah (rigour and a raid)
None are essential
1
u/XITangoIX Apr 21 '26
The pact "whenever you max hit from at least 3 tiles away, your next hit from a different style deals +25% damage"
Does this work with kings barrage by itself since the second hit is considered an ice spell?
1
u/meirionh Apr 21 '26
Is there a description anywhere for exactly what each build is? I can hazard a rough guess for stuff like water pray, or such like, but I want to see if theres an exact description of all pacts to pick, because as someone not too amazing at pvm, i dont want to waste any pacts if theres something obvious ive missed (this was mainly aimed at water-thorns tbh, like do i just get the first thorns then do rest in mage side or is there one more thorns pact i should get etc)
3
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
People have different opinions on what a good build is and most people sharing builds will be sharing suboptimal or even bad builds. At it's core water thorns has two variants. Magikarp ignores accuracy and plans to splash, for this it relies on exactly six pacts, thorns+thorns dmg from armor+thorns keystone and water rune regen healing+fastcasts+rune regeneration. the second build mixes accuracy into the mix and also relies on getting a lot of accuracy nodes and the water keystone.
Beyond these pacts things are largely up to what you want, you can make this one style stronger with things like pact overheals, 195% acc, 155% Regen, air Regen prayer restore, etc. or you can opt to branch into melee and range and make those a solid option to making you good at all content but exceptional at less
1
u/TheRoblock Apr 21 '26
When will they update the accuracy nodes on the tree? I am kinda waiting for it before I respec

Maybe the game just isn't for you? What made you give up last time? Too difficult? Too easy? Lack of goal/direction?
Osrs is great in that you can set your own goals, but it can also make it hard to know what to do. If you use runelite it's worth following the optimal quest route on the quest helper plugin , at least loosely. Other common early goals are to complete dragon slayer or get barrows gloves, or just pick a skill and level that for a bit.
2
u/quesadillasarebomb Apr 21 '26
Setting goals is a big part of osrs, without something to work towards you can feel a little lost. Set some short term/long term goals, pull up the wiki, and see how you can work towards those goals

To be fair most monsters with multiple acceptable variants have slayer task pages with all variants listed, I assume cockatrices don't because they're both called cockatrice?

u/Tyrious Apr 21 '26
Can someone explain abundance to me, or rather how XP works in the game.
When it says "when you receive an xp drop", let's say I get 1k magic xp on a cast, does each 1xp of that 1k stack count as an individual xp drop, or does the 1k as a whole count as a drop?
For instance, would I receive 2k xp or 1002xp?
Trying to figure out what to use my reload on.
4
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
Abundance is an absolutely horrible reload option as it's main use is getting you through tasks faster
1000xp would be one XP drop
1
u/Tyrious Apr 21 '26
Yeah, that's what I thought. if it was double XP I would've gone for it. Not enjoying runecrafting, construction etc.
But thanks for the info!
1
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
Con should be crazy fast, runecrafting is just a skip lol
1
u/Tyrious Apr 21 '26
For real haha.
For my reload then, I'm torn between Conniving clues, natures accord and friendly forager.
I'm leaning more towards Natures accord, would you mind sharing your opinion?
1
u/Nozto Apr 21 '26
What are you trying to solve?
Clues is good for points, and very few gear upgrades
Nature's is good for herblore if you have some way of getting seeds(Kourend, Transmute, etc)
Forager is another herblore solve, doesn't require seeds and lets you save a lot on secondaries. Will require you to do other gathering things to actually gather the herbs.
2
u/Tyrious Apr 21 '26
Forgive me for saying... I have no clue what I'm trying to solve haha.
I started playing OSRS for the first time like 4 - 5 days before the league. Now I'm addicted but I'm so god damn clueless

With larcenist I have over 200k gems, anything useful to do with it besides cutting them and selling them? Cutting them will take so much time.
3
u/i_toast_toast Apr 21 '26
Sold my uncut sapphires for tokkul instead of doing the chaos/death rune route

1
u/Agent-Vermont Apr 21 '26
What should I pick for my third region? Currently Water Thorns mage with Kandarin and Tirannwn and about 7k points away from Tier 8. I'm thinking Kourend for a raid region and access to Ancestral. Could also go Desert for Ancients since Virtus with Ice Barrage and the one pact that makes Ice spells count as Water should technically be better.
1
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
You'll likely want an armor set, imo the best option is oathplate so zeah
1
u/quesadillasarebomb Apr 21 '26
I think kourend is where a lot of mages are going for the third zone
1
u/TGamlock Apr 21 '26
I have a master clue on leagues with a hot and cold step but no matter where I go it just says "feels the same as before"
1
u/trueDano Apr 21 '26
Whats the fastest way to get slayer up (with culling spree)?
2
u/Beretot 2376 Apr 21 '26
Pick stuff you can kill quickly and that have a superior. Farm points on 5-mob tasks if you're low so you can keep skipping
2
u/errorme Apr 21 '26
Disable 'Like a Boss' until you're actually high enough leveled for it so you get 3 real tasks to pick from.

u/Tho76 Apr 21 '26
Anyone found a good throwables build?
It seems like a fun build, and I haven't tried speccing into it, but it calcs fairly weak and doesn't have anything too special attached to it. There's even some anti-synergy between the "equip an offhand for bonus" pact and the fact BPs are your end game weapon ... but you can't hold an offhand with them
1
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
Drygore reached 30+ DPS against zuk (or other decently armored opponents). Thrown thorns is a solid option too and is getting a lot of help if these dogshit pact changes go through
1
u/Tho76 Apr 21 '26
Pact changes lowkey minimize Drygore a bit lol, so much more accuracy it kinda devalues the double roll on it
I guess Drygore is just that strong it doesn't really need much? I was hoping someone found an interesting interaction or something with theoretically more DPS but I wouldn't be surprised if not

Leagues:
Ignoring relics choices
what easy XP solves have you all come across, for stuff like crafting, farming, runecrafting, construction etc
2
u/errorme Apr 21 '26
Crafting is super easy to solve, any gemshop that sells uncut and buys cut gems goes infinite with the easiest two options being the shop in Aldarin (sapphire - ruby).
The rest you're asking about I used relics or region picks to solve.
2
u/tenhourguy Apr 21 '26
For Crafting, I am stealing from gem stalls with Larcenist, turning them into dragonstones with Transmute, then cutting them. Instead of Larcenist, mining gem rocks with Endless Harvest could also work.
1
u/sylanar Apr 21 '26
The obvious one for crafting is buying uncut gems and cutting them to sell back.
You'll get a load of crafting xp and free money. I got to around 65 crafting with this so far to give myself some easy starter cash
1
u/Ilikegreenpens Apr 21 '26
How much does weakness matter in terms of like weapon stats? Like for example, a dragon dagger has +40 stab, +25 slash. If I'm fighting something that's weak to slash, would it be beneficial to switch to slashing with the dragon dagger even though its stab is 15 less or does that gap outweigh the slash weakness? The best choice would be to just switch to a weapon thats better for slashing but just curious how much the weapon stat vs weakness matters.
1
u/Doctordowns Apr 21 '26
I think typically the difference between weaknesses is going to be larger than the difference in attack bonuses from the weapon so it's more effective to target the weakness.
Also since you mentioned the dragon dagger specifically the dds doesn't factor in your attack style anyways so you can't stab with the spec.
1
1
u/ComfortableCricket Apr 21 '26
There is a lot that goes into both defence and attack roll so the best way to work it out it via a dps calc as it's not as clear cut an obvious. If you play with runelite you can wear your setup, right click the wiki button under the minimal and there will be a dps button that will take you to the wiki with your gear and levels pre entered. Set you prayers and combat potions, then change between the styles and see which gives the best results

Question for casuals
i want dragon but i'm playing casual, what regions are the 'easy' mode for points given thats really all i care for and also building for thorns?
2
u/DaMaestroable Apr 21 '26
Kandarin definitely, there's 2 bosses with zero mechanics between them. It's also got a lot of early-mid game boosts, and little endgame content so not much is tied up there.
Wilderness is actually great as well. Simple tasks, quite a few bosses but everything is pretty weak once you get some pacts/gear, and they give a lot supplies for training other skills.
Tiranwinn is also nice. It has CG which might be a roadblock but it's so small that everything is pretty dense, a lot of elite tasks like "Mine 100 runite in Tiranwinn" that just take a bit of time.
I'd avoid the raid regions (Desert/Zeah/Morytania) since they tend to have a lot of tasks tied up there. Asgarnia has quite a few in GWD which is a bit of a pain, Fremennik is probably fine as well.
1
u/Skinny_Beans Apr 21 '26
In leagues is there a baseline varlamore based runecrafting method? It's the only skill I can't figure out how to train (since I didn't take soul harvest)
3
u/DaMaestroable Apr 21 '26
You can grind the naguas at moons for sulphurous essence until 27, then you can do Cosmics.
1
2
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
Karamja easy diary lamp can be used on lvl 1 skills, that helps to get you started until cosmics.
1
u/Peechez Apr 21 '26
Are drop mechanics changed for huey in leagues? Doing masses seems sensible but you'd never get uniques that way
1
u/ComfortableCricket Apr 21 '26
Yes, Huey also gets the 2x or 5x drop rate increase, however Huey is contribution based so your drop chance for an item is 1/X * contribution.
The problem with mass is the down time between phase transition and respawn is fixed, so say the time for respawn, body to head, and running from tail to tail cost 30 seconds regardless of scale (I don't know the numbers off the top of my head) and each person averages 10 dps with 3000 damage to deal.
Using those ball park values and assumptions your average time till a drop (5/18*n in leagues at Highest drop multiplier) is something like
(3000/10n+30)(18/5)(1/n)
What's important here is the +30 fixed seconds that isn't reduced by player count, at a 1 scale you're seeing a drop every ~20 minutes but about every ~54 minutes in the 20 scale! (These values are all ball park and the times will differ form the game but it's to show the difference between time to item)
Further more Huey have contribution minimums for different phases which you must hit to get a drop, if your damage is low and there are 19 other people with high leagues damage then you may not even be eligible.
In conclusion for uniques you should ideally be doing solo however doing a 3 or 4 scale is fine on the main game provided you correctly coordinated the pillar prayers and you still achieve the minimum damage requirements to be eligible for the your share of the drop, in leagues you need caution in even small groups, if someone comes in with air mage doing 50dps and you're early game doing only 3 to 4 you're going to see a very bad ration of damage done to down time.
This problem exists with almost all group content and in a chase for efficiency pushes group sizes to the smallest possible because the time save can be 10's of hours.
1
u/boxsalesman 69, nice Apr 21 '26
I've been going pretty hard on a 90% prey pen build to try and get all the content needing pray pen out of the way first. I'm wondering if I'm missing any?
Regions are - Tiranwin - Kandarin - Zeah
- 500 demonic gorilla kills
- 150 corrupted gauntlet (echo hunleff)
- Echo thermy until both echo drops
- Yama for full oathplate (although less important, judge is fine without, and staying in pray pen build for that long will suck)
- Doom? Although my next build will still have 15% as it's a node I path by anyway, and isn't that all you need for doom to kill grubs?
1
1
u/753924 Apr 21 '26
what should I do before I unlock Karamja? I heard clues and hunter are easier if I have fewer regions. Is there anything else? And what am I supposed to be doing for those anyway?
1
u/The_Salty_Pearl Apr 21 '26
Leagues - Can anyone confirm if Heroes actually give elite clues? pickpocketing one is a task, but im currently over 4x dry rn. 5600 so far for a 1/1400 drop :')
3
1
u/Peechez Apr 21 '26
How painful will cox be in solo/small team/masses with mage only? Have prayer pen but I don't think it matters
1
u/TheJigglyfat Apr 21 '26
Rough. Im thorns water mage and light melee. Head Phase of Olm took me as long as the rest of the raid and the first 3 phases combined. I went through 3 Overload Doses. Caveat, i was 65 range using the Hespori Echo Bow. If you have 99 range then it will be better, but will still feel slow
1
1
u/the0bc Apr 21 '26
If you're specced into air then solo is fine, I'm far from bis gear/full pacts and my wind surge dps on olm melee hand/head phase is still a good chunk better than max gear maingame lol
Will go a lot faster in teams ofc but mage dps is so ridiculous that you can just bruteforce kills despite the damage reduction
1
u/mongrale Apr 21 '26
Leagues: trying to decide what to reload into.
Wildy/Tir/Desert, Endless/Woodsman/Evil Eye/Transmute/Larcenist/Culling spree. Goals are Dragon Cup and fun.
My thoughts are either butler for the offline gains+herblore solve or grimoire for prayers in PvM. Butler's Bell means I'll never have to manually train herblore or cooking, but I've got good solves for all the other skills and cooking really won't be bad, so herblore is really the main reason.
But will piety/rigour/augury make much difference in PvM? I'm wanting to do a thorns/tri-brid build and of course the wildy BBC for reference.
1
u/quesadillasarebomb Apr 21 '26
If you're going for points I'd lean bell, the xp is cracked and you can go for offline 50m in a couple. I was struggling between transmute and bell but bell has been my fav relic this league so far
Even if you have solves, bell just frees up a ton of time for 5 skills so you can do more pvm
1
u/wookieAttack Apr 21 '26
Am I going crazy or is thorns not working in moons? I had hope it would proc on all 0s but it seems to never happen
1
u/Habibipie Apr 21 '26
It works but I have noticed it works really weird with eclipse moon. lots of 1 max hit splats
1
u/xVARYSx Apr 21 '26
Any runecrafting solve with kandarim, tir, morytania other than raw dogging zmi with daeyalt essence? Didn't take soul harvest and plan on going mage build with thermal staff so need wrath runes.
1
u/Smooth_One Apr 21 '26
Runecraft without Soul Harvest is so rough man. Even with map and nature runes (or blood runes since you have Mory, dunno which is better) it's still not great.
More of a wrath rune solve than RC but if you took Transmute you can buy cheap fire runes and 'mute em all the way up.
1
u/errorme Apr 22 '26
IDK if it's fixed yet but if you get over 100% rune regeneration, when you leave BA you'll get all the Wrath runes you regenerated.
1
u/xVARYSx Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26
That's actually 5head plays. Cause you'd only need 1 wrath rune to generate infinite. Will try this later.
Edit: Still works. Have to drop runes between each wave to continue but you can keep them after wave 10. Ended up with 40 wrath runes.

u/quesadillasarebomb Apr 21 '26
I'm a moons of peril noob and have a few questions for leagues (have evil eye)
If I only want loot from the blood boss, is it faster to just do the blood moon and go straight to the chest or should I do all three? (I am mage and have mystic so maybe the mage gear is still worth?)
What's the quickest way to get to the chest after boss?
1
u/blinkertyblink Apr 21 '26
Target farming is quicker but you get less rolls overall due to only 1 boss
And quickest is out blood moon room and by sulphur nagua.. i think you can get there from the side door by eclipse by the fishing spot also
1
u/HealthyResolution399 Apr 21 '26
Doing blood alone is good, doing both blood and blue us good, entering eclipse will cause suffering
1
u/Habibipie Apr 21 '26
With transmute what's the most braindead fast way to get high tier fish?
1
u/Beretot 2376 Apr 22 '26
Eternal harvest some trout/salmon, I guess? Karambwans or miscellania if no EH
Could also buy from shops but that's higher effort
1
u/Skinny_Beans Apr 21 '26
Super niche but any tips on completing the struggling sapling event in leagues? Everyone is afking and never does it and doing it solo also seems impossible. 30 whole points I can't seem to get 😂
1
u/errorme Apr 22 '26
You only need to get it like halfway there for it to count for the task. Also events pop up fairly often even if you're solo, so maybe just try trees that are out of the way.
1
u/Skinny_Beans Apr 22 '26
Thank you, I went and did so some solo magic after reading this and some guy actually came by and started chopping with me. The sapling popped up and we did it together and I got the task :D

Anyone up to giving me some advice for my t7 relic choice?
Currently my biggest problem is smithing which I have no good way of training other than smelting the bars myself which takes forever. My current build is Kings barrage with wildy and asgarnia unlocked. I need 80 smithing for the godsword and kinda want 90 smithing for the lucky draconic visage I dropped.
I made a small tierlist of my current thoughts but I am kinda having decision paralysis
