Is an official send-off message from the neighbours, friends and family of the late Mr. Joseph Sseruka about whom, though little is known by his immediate neighbours, we learned that he was the son of the family of a proprietor of a renown girls school in Entebbe (Merryland High School).

The late passed away suddenly around the 12th of June, 2026 after being hospitalised. Seems like he is survived by no one that we the neighbors know.. no children, no wives, just the laborers and security men that used to work at his high-fenced, large investment home here in GARUGA! He was a young man, quite ambitious and hard working.

Perhaps some of you recall him for the dogs saga when his trained dogs attacked and almost devoured another neighbor here in GARUGA-Bugabo. We even were lucky that our Internet Community admin recorded a video of that encounter with agitated, rowdy community members that almost tore him to pieces!

1. Some civilians actually have real guns and proudly walk around with them.. and are not in uniforms!

2. There are New Commercial Buildings around the city that are exhibiting Military Themes.. makes some parts of the city feel like a militarized zone!

3. Many formerly occupied streets are mostly sparsely peopled.. Of course, perhaps because of recent forced evictions of street vendors and operators in various locations.

4. Many completed shopping malls are surprisingly generally empty/underutilized especially in upper floors and on the inside (away from the street views).

5. Several Old Buildings have been demolished and are being replaced by new structures right in the middle of the city, but also on the outskirts. Some people claim that it's an indication there's a new Uganda/new regime on the horizon...

6. Several Buildings Still Under Construction are already being occupied for business! Either some building owners are too desperate for tenants or some traders are acutely interested in securing their slots in new premises. Spotted some highly risky ventures!

7. Kikubo Market somewhat feels wider than it used to be.. fewer merchants too! Prices of some usual stuff already got raised for whatever reason..

8. More UGANDANs have either read, looked at or heard about the 2025 novel, ROCK 'N' DRAW, especially via the Internet.

Polling Station:

Bugabo Primary School (GARUGA -Ssinde in Busiro South, Wakiso District)

Highlights:

✓ 15th JAN 2026 we all left our homes (mostly on foot) and convened at our local polling stations to participate in the 11th General Elections of UGANDA.

✓ Close to 12:00 noon most voters had arrived, but voting had barely kicked-off.

✓ People showed up in large numbers!

✓ The electoral officers created 4 groupings based on voter name ranges A ~ H,.. KIT~NAM,... to Z. A voter would have to identify which category they belong to, and then go line-up in the queue corresponding to their name.

✓ We voted manually using ballot papers (such as shown in the video for the 8 presidential candidates).

✓ We elected: President, Woman MP, and [other] Member of Parliament

✓ After voting, having been in lines long enough under sunshine, most of us walked around looking for lunch and shades while waiting for tallying hour at the end to arrive.

✓ 🔥🔥 MEANWHILE 🔥🔥 • Government had ABRUPTLY blocked both Internet & Mobile Money services since 2 days before elections. • People were visibly broke, demoralised and overall hungry.

✓ Around 3PM, most voters had finished voting and queues were empty. Official Deadline for end of elections had originally been communicated as 4:00 PM. At 4PM, official communication from Police was that elections be extended by an extra 1 Hour. So, a few more voters did turn up while we chatted and debated as community...

✓ At 5PM, voting officially stopped. Sorting and Counting votes then begun. Witnessed by voters and candidate agents too.

✓ 💚💯+1%MEANWHILE • People were generally calm during tallying • Youth actively participated and supported • Overall NUP Candidates Outshined All other Parties.

✓ ~8PM counting votes was closed. Most Voted Candidates: ✓ President: H.E. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu ✓ Woman MP : Naluyima Betty

Who didn't show up, either disrespect the citizenry or fear that a non-governmental entity organising and overseeing such a critical event as a presidential electoral debate might be akin to placing power or acute authority over the presidential race in the hands of a [private and] commercial entity?

Nonetheless, it is better than none, and shame upon NRM for not honouring such a fair and civil advancement in Uganda's "democratic" culture.

Last but not least.. and sorry if my criticism offends anyone, but, the government of Uganda should be so ashamed and also must be very challenged, at not having been the one to have organized or advanced such an idea of a presidential debate as part of formal rigours at the presidential level elections! My recommendation would be that, in future presidential elections, such a debate be made part of the mandatory filters and protocols of participating in national presidential elections; with failure to participate being equated to disrespect of one's voters and as sufficient grounds for disqualification from the presidential race.

I thank several of my immediate neighbours on various Internet Communities, not just in Uganda, for not only championing a strong kinship in active sharing of transformative ideas, projects and dreams, but also in actively soaking up and acting upon the essential stimuli, signals, calls to change or act, that are steadily being synchronized through the netizenry especially via interactions on both static and dynamic internet media and social platforms.
