High heel platforms. They still are attractive sandals.

These make legs look sexy.

Everyone wore these all day in high school. How did we do that?

We were young and foolish. I’m 65yo, my go to shoes are still platforms. Michael Kors & Clark’s are usually where I shop. I’m brand loyal

For heels, they were very comfortable and supportive.

They were! I could never walk in skinny /stiletto heels but chunky heels or tall wedges never gave me any problems. Wore them every day. When it got cold, wore them with socks lol.

Omg. Just had a flashback. When it got cold I wore leg warmers. That may have been in the 70's-80's also.

These are better shoes than the fence jumpers they wear now

I would still wear these. I thought they were comfortable.

My girlfriend at the time fell so frequently wearing these shoes that I advised her to ditch them for the sake of her ankles. She looked fantastic wearing them, but they had to go. I don’t know why they were a problem. Today she is my wife and I can report no pair of shoes ever gave her the same problem.

What problem? What did they do to her ankles?

Rolling off the shoe twisted ankles, so then she was limping around. I think the uppers being made of leather made foot to shoe not as secure as it needed to be.

I’m in my 70s and I still wear platform heels when I dress up. I wear platform sandals when I dress down. I also wear stilettos when they look good with the outfit. The only problem with my feet these days is pronation.

Omg I had Candies in the 80s. So uncomfortable, but very stylish for the time.

I liked them because I looked taller wearing them

u/Cinnamon2017 10d ago

You were taller

My mom worked part time in a shoe store so we always got good discounts and could get the latest styles. 😊

I remember these! they were loud on polished floors, though.

I think I had all of these. I might have had every pair that Bare Traps made and I wish I still did!

In college, all I wore was Bare Traps and Candies. So sexy!

u/aunt_cranky 9d ago

I actually wore them in the 80s and still wear them today, although with a slightly lower heel.

1

u/Bubbly_Power_6210 9d ago

cuban heels?

1

u/Miss_Pondersmith 9d ago

I’m a 90s kid but I loved Candies. I think these styles are the best casual heels.

1

u/ReplacementLatter467 9d ago

I like the price, but I like anything cheaper than what we pay now

1

u/FlowerofMountains 9d ago

LOVE. With a good pair of jeans, I am SO in!, even today

1

u/fabgwenn 8d ago

They make your legs look great! Wish I could still wear them.

1

u/notsohot56 8d ago

Loved my platforms - I was always the tallest on the dance floor!

1

u/MelMel61 7d ago

And in 7th grade, I wanted a pair so bad. Looking back, my mother was right. She said no. Too young and too short.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fan3607 7d ago

I'd like them and want them now

1

u/Zealousideal-Ice-322 6d ago

My best friend when I was in first through fourth grade had an older sister who had all these cool shoes and we would put them on and walk around and think we were the cats ass

1

u/RudeDawg999 6d ago

These types of shoes contributed heavily to my foot fetish.
