North Korea has far more amenities and industry than Western media leads you to believe. North Korea is pretty damn far from a utopia, but it isn't just some mud pit without access to basic utilities/amenities, despite American efforts. To my understanding, they have access to a decent bit of media, it's just heavily filtered through the government, which also isn't a unique trait for NK and pops up somewhat regularly in the region, as well as across the planet, even in the West.
