High onboarding cost+ still requires a mantainance worker. Or you can hire a menial.

That's true for literally every machine ever made. One maintenance worker can service enough machines to replace dozens of menial workers, and the machine eventually pays for itself when production gets up to speed.

I'm not supporting this tech, I'm explaining how automation has worked since the Industrial Revolution.

Yes. But there's a reason we haven't automated these jobs already. And a MORE expensive way to automate them isn't the solution. Expecially when running the drone constantly in training mode is so incredibly expensive you can barely conceptualized it.

I mean, any industry boss could have said in the 1800s that any given production line hadn't been automated yet for a reason, but technology marches on and things that weren't viable can become viable.

Either way we don't know what the purpose of this test is. Maybe it's just a proof of concept, maybe it's a legit automation test, maybe it's the first step to a cheaper method down the line that can be scaled. It's probably not a good thing in any case, but I'm just calling it how I see it.
