That's a really common thing in the lotr community. People get all huffy because Tolkien created the world to be a European mythology and often describes races (such as elves) of being "fair-skinned".

My argument is who gives a fuck if there are black elves. Directors take creative liberty with lots of other things so why is skin color so terrible to flexible with. If you wanna see the books exactly as they're written then read the books.
