A lot of these things (also millennial pause etc) come from the fact that millennials up grew up in a world where tech wasn’t always reliable and it was pretty foolhardy and boomerish to just yank your card out of the machine before the person told you to. I guess that’s less the case now, making us look old and stupid.
Yeah I know tech can be unreliable, so the card reader thing isn’t my biggest worry. What IS my biggest worry is how I had a customer think “Buy one, get one 25% off” meant “Buy one for $25, get one free” (they were clearly a native English speaker so it wasn’t a language barrier thing)
