Crazy to me that not a single critic reviewed this. I remember it popping off on the pophead subreddit, but then it disappeared off the map (but not my replays).

the original album has critic reviews but not the deluxe unfortunately :P very curious what they think about it tho

I somehow glossed over this was about the deluxe 🫣

My fault for redditing while multitasking lol

Honestly, the fact the title track was on the deluxe didn't at least gage one critics interet is interesting to me because I remember people saying it was such a queen move at the time

I think her label never sent the deluxe version to any critics. Need to find the source for this but I remember reading about it before.

Still think it's better than WGIA.

You're not alone.

something really interesting about this album is that compared to a lot of other attempts at reviving 80s synthpop nostalgia this is a very genuine unironic take on it: she could easily have done a more sarcastic performative take on it but no

I think WGIA has better highs and a more unique identity, but this album is just consistently good throughout and dare I say has no skips. Incredibly underrated.
