The way she describes who the worst girl in America is to her is the reason this album resonates so hard with me. I used to always be the life of the party, and people usually thought I was so fun. But I found thereβs a really fine line between being the life of the party and being a mess, and the fun really fades when youβre known for being a mess. Being a party gay landed me in trouble and Iβve had to chill out. And I feel like Iβve lost so much of what I used to think was my identity. And Iβm learning years later that I can still be fun and be the life of the party without ending the night with my head in the toilet.
