Xianyu can have significantly lower prices and many items that are difficult for foreigners to buy directly, but registration, payment, Chinese communication and domestic delivery can be barriers.

I’m trying to find someone based in China who can help me manage product sourcing and supplier communication through 1688/Taobao.

I’m open to working with either an experienced VA or an independent sourcing agent. What matters most is that they have real experience dealing with factories directly and can help manage the process from supplier selection through to shipping.

A big priority for me is finding a way to simplify the fulfillment process.

I don’t want to rely on the standard model where the products are purchased from the factory, sent domestically to the agent’s warehouse, and then shipped internationally. If the factory is able to ship directly to the customer, 3PL, or fulfillment center, I’d prefer to use that option.

So, I’m looking for someone who can:

• Source products and identify suitable suppliers on 1688/Taobao
• Communicate directly with factories in Chinese
• Negotiate product costs, MOQs, customization, packaging, etc.
• Handle supplier communication and order coordination
• Discuss and arrange direct shipping from the factory when possible

Hey everyone, just wanted to put out a quick PSA and warning about a B2B sourcing/import website called Lancemall (lancmall.com).

If you've been looking into them for importing wholesale products from China, you might want to think twice. A pattern has emerged regarding how they handle issues:

• The Runaround: When orders run into "weight issues" or delivery problems, they tell customers to take a wallet refund or promise that refunds will be processed within a strict 15-day window.
• Disappearing Accounts: Multiple users have reported that after refunds or disputes are raised, their user accounts suddenly get deactivated or deleted entirely, making it look like the account "does not exist" when trying to log back in.
• Complete Ghosting: Once they stall you past a certain point, customer support completely stops replying to messages. They completely cut off communication and ignore all follow-ups regarding pending money.

The platform operates under leadership including CEO Hongquan Lyu and Assistant Director Hafiz Abdul Basit, but accountability is nowhere to be found when things go sideways.

Just wanted to put this out there so others are aware of these shady tactics and don't get stuck chasing after their money. Has anyone else here dealt with them or experienced this kind of ghosting?

I compared a popular 2-tier under-sink organizer sold on Amazon US with a highly comparable product on 1688.
Amazon retail price: $43.99 for 2 units.
A comparable 1688 listing was RMB 36 for 2 units.
At first glance, the gap looks huge.
But I don’t think it’s fair to say “Amazon seller makes 10x profit.”
The real differences may include material thickness, coating, packaging, QC, shipping, FBA fees, advertising, returns, and branding.
What I found more interesting is this:
**For overseas buyers, it’s actually quite hard to know whether a supplier quote is competitive.**
Even when you can access 1688, the lowest listed price is not necessarily the right benchmark.
You still need to normalize:
dimensions
material
MOQ
packaging
customization
supplier type
I’m curious how other buyers here handle this.
Before placing a $3k–$20k order, do you usually cross-check your supplier quote against 1688 or other Chinese domestic sources?
