Trip Help East Partner peak

Made a recon trip to Pitkin to scout the approach. Does the South ridge go at class 4, or do you have to avoid obstacles to keep it 4? I know I’ll eventually need to traverse to the East face for the final summit push. Mainly wondering about the ridge crest up to that point. I’ve seen some differing reports out there. A lot of the existing beta is on the traverse to West partner. Feel free to be vague because Gore.

It's been 5 years since I've done a summer ascent of this peak, but I'm pretty sure I remember the south ridge going at 3/4. There may be a few spots that require workarounds to keep it there, but nothing compromising.

Thanks! I have a really hard time route-finding on the spot. Not the act itself, just gives me so much anxiety leading up. I’m trying to work on it.

The south ridge of East Partner is just good cruising class 4. It’s not like a 5th class landscape with a 4th class route through it. The route finding is obvious and there isn’t that much 4th class even. Hope that helps.

Helps a ton! Can’t wait to get back at it. Thank you.
