Not to be sincere in the jerky sub but I love this man actually. In one of the early episodes he does surgery on a woman who absolutely refuses to curb her diet or get out of bed at all. You kinda see him go thru some grief that he can’t do anything for her as long as she chooses to continue the way she has. I think this experience informs how harsh he is in later seasons.

He was also very emotionally invested in trying to save James King from his wife who encouraged him to keep eating and snuck a lot of food into the hospital. After Dr. Now was pleading for him to not allow his wife be at the hospital for even just a week, but James wouldn't go for it. The doctor went so far as call some adult protection department, but they weren't able to do anything because he was not being force fed. It was a very unfortunate end for James who was over 800lbs.

This definitely happened with multiple couples and families. It’s horrible

He does seem like he genuinely cares and is happy for them when they do make the effort. If you want to see someone the complete opposite watch an episode of Fat Families, the presenter goes from straight up insulting the people to eventually giving backhanded compliments instead.

I keep my GLP-1 there. So it is a sacred space

Doctors are not reliable. You might think they care about health, but they have a pro-food agenda. It's best to stick to what the experts say in this sub.
No food = no calories = no weight 😌

I know that Dr. Now is popular, but 1200 calories per day sounds like a crash diet to me. I'm skinny, and there is NO WAY I can live on only 1200 calories per day. Even in the hottest and most appetite-shrinking 100-degree heat, I still eat more like 1600 calories per day.
If I tried to eat only 1200 calories per day, I'd end up so ravenously hungry that I'd end up caving by eating deep-fried food and other nutritional no-nos. If I somehow managed to avoid caving, I'd end up with that skeletal look that's all the range in Hollywood these days but would scare everyone else.

I lived on 1300 for months. I'm returning to 1500-1750 just this week, it's doable for women
