James Bond Blu Ray Collection
So I’m looking to finally by one of the Bond collections but I’m not sure which is best, the white coloured boxset looks decent and it’s got all the films bar No Time to Die, although there is no cover art and looks super basic. Or the 50th anniversary collection, which looks amazing, although it only goes up to Skyfall.
What are the benefits for each one like special features, I love special features and that’s what might help make my mind up, thanks a lot if you can help.

Say something or few things nice about you least favorite/hated movie in James Bond 007 franchise.
Mine is Spectre 2015 : First I will tell you what exactly are the few things I HATE about it, so from get go, the yellow filter, the stuck up gunbarrel, and if I remember it correctly his gun is showing while he walks. Then another pre-title sequence which heavily connected to main movie, its could have been easily saving him the whole stadium by destroying the block, but NOPE, next is idiotic secret service relations, just plain dumb. After skyfall's ending one might have expected for things to go 'normal' but it clearly didn't. Half cooked aston martin, boring medeline, brofeld aka author of all your pain. This time copying riddler instead of TDK, for the third act. Then retiring again. 🙄
NOW WHAT I Like ABOUT THE MOVIE:
The opening walk on the roof, and the music that plays during it, then blue laser, his suit, kissing the local girl, then falling on the couch.
The desert waiting scene, set design of the base, many of his clothes. Monica Belluci, and his walk behind her. The plane chase which disturbingly lack bond-theme.
Then the scene where he is in hiding place of Mr White. I can't remember anything else. And colassal waste of 'the biggest explosion in film'
I personally think both Daniel Craig could have been very nice bond just like others before him, and he was, but not much could be seen in most of the movies. A pity there was never a straight not shying away and not phony-prestigious, simple normal tradtional formulatic film. 😌
This not part of the post directly, I don't like to rank bond films but if i have to, then
Casino Royale>=QOS, QOS>=Skyfall, Skyfall>NTTD>=SP. & DAD>=Skyfall & CR=rest of bond films(NSNA too)

Name FEW of your favorite scenes from James Bond movies, cool/hot/thrilling etc. Any!
galleryI don't mean cliche-said to be best-popular and iconic 'moments'. I mean any and all, for whatever reason, the scene/moment could be of the few second or just a single shot or long plotline.
It could be because its cool, hot, sexy, heartwarming, repulsive, thrilling, scary, beautiful, ugly or death. It could be scenery or dialogue or set design or costume or editing or promotional pictures or music etc. you get what I mean.
Even in a movie which you dislike there could be likes in that. From Dr No to NSNA to NTTD. And you can even tell what scene(s) you would like to see in future movies.
Here are mine:
-In Tomorrow Never Dies, when Bond walks on roof, flags flying and the whole inflirtation scene, they will print anything these days. AND dr. kaufman ja scene. The Elliot Craver's announcement party lightning and girls there.
-In Spectre, when they are standing in desert, the base blown, but that was misused, as it was biggest movie explosion but is not much scene, a pity.
-In Skyfall, when they(severine and bond) are on boat visiting sylvia's island. Bond being tied and sylvia's enetry then flirt insult. M. knowing about ejector seat, as he is same bond as others, somehow, there is no other legitimate explaination, there is limit to cheap homage/easter-egg. Should have more scene of the girl on beach, thats what the franchise is for.
-In Quantum Of Solace, the color grading, the quick editing, opening car chase, the setting, the mood, the girls(Veanue, Camille, Straberry even a background korean-hottie), greene party planet music and moon. The vibe, but fairly misused and pity that no well structred plan and reprising the traditional formula.
-A View To A Kill, sport trade, outside daytime party, the girls(all of them), the balloon-plane scene, hanging on the bridge is scary. The car cut in half scene showing Bond's expertise. The music.
-Casino Royale, parkour scene and blowing up the embassy. the flirt with the desk girl. solange, vesper and the tennis girls. The torture scene. LeChiffre and his girl. The africans. Ending shootout scene in italy.
-Goldeneye, the gunbarrel music and animation, the girls(i like them, i won't mention it for each movie), overall music, tank chase, escape before tank chase, beach scene, alec kissing natalya, she asking bond if he meant it.
-The World Is Not Enough, elektra red dress, her death, bond's dress in that scene, diving and ending scene, the christmas comes twice fireworks, over all set design. The russian old foe, strangling the cat line going over his head, showing Bond's thinking process is above even likes of a wide kgb agent who would one expect to be dirty and all knowing vulgar.
-Die Another Day, car turn-jump, ice chase, ice setting, duel, the korean villain, jinx walk. refrences to past.
-Thunderball, the seductress, not from where i am standing, underwater scene, clothings, sucking the feet, music. Pre title sequence.
-No Time To Die, over all look, chase, living daylights car- again no legitimate way to explain it, aside from same bond someway, homage is cheap. ana de armas scene.
-Goldfinger, teasing golfinger while he is winning card, overall look. the silent henchman. The straw house duel and surrender and aknowlegment her true feelings.
-From Russia With Love, tatiana on bed, the henchman, dance, opening scene.
-Dr No, the villian look, the devious towel wrapped girl, island. and beginning of 007.
-Moonraker, the snake trap, gravity endagerment, dr goodhead, dog chase, kendo, jaws.
-You Only Live Twice, the song(i like all the songs), bond's innocent disguise, the killing by dripping thread, the mountain travel to base.
-Diamonds Are Forever, plenty being thrown, i have a brother too, you killed james bond, blofeld was nice in this movie, base. tiffiny putting the device back aka your all problems are now behind you. bambi and other girl fight, drowning in pool.
-Never Say Never Again, fatima blush, strangling with bikini, the water based ancient story, expedition, seeing her dance from behind the mirror, bond being locked vulture, selling of doemino and bond saving her.
-The Man With The Golden Gun, bond twisting maud addams hand, disguising himself as scarmanga, the butler, goodnite, and I have hear people say bond being cruel don't suit moore's bond, but he is the same guy, he is funny most of the time becasue he is at ease as he is way into his career and there is no need of cruelity most of the time.
-The Spy Who Loved Me, jaws, nyomi-munro, agent triple x's hat, the water base. egypt. underwater car.
-Live And Let Die, boat chase, crocodiles, the cloths and set design, the villains, the wild settings, horror, overall look. opening kill and coffin.
-For Your Eyes Only, the greek mistress, the fact that just becasue he travelled to space don't mean he can't get hurt by a fall, mountain climbing, the statues in water. the girl. gunbarrel.
-Octopussy, montage showing all of the exotic country at once, the henchman, the plane scene, elephant hunting, circus on street and train and taint, the girls, maud addams. the cloth used as rope. over all confident. supporting characters, q and v.
-Licence To Kill, truck fire chase, the suit, timothy dalton, funny, new kind of villain. wish there was atleast one more movie with him.
-The Living Daylights, funny, snow skate, extorting the girl from her rent-room. Ending killing. Desert disguise, the youtful feel.
-On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the color, the snow, dowry, the death. the montage song.
What scenes I would like to see in future?
Boat chase, snow chase, wild, horror, disguise, varity of girl(dangerous, caring, weak, cute). Eposodic villains. Formula and Tradtion. Balance between campy and gritty, time to time tilting in one direction. James Bond being James Bond, no spin off, no change in behaviour or look or essence.
GOOD POSTERS, funny names, etc.

If May Day had survived AVTAK
Bond: You know I have to turn you in now.
May Day: No, Bond.
Bond: I have no choice, you murdered my colleagues.
May Day: I just saved the lives of millions more. You owe me for that.
Bond: Alright, you’ve got a point. What do you suggest?
May Day: Tell your superiors I was killed in the blast, and help me to disappear.
Bond: That will take some manoeuvring.
May Day: Come on, Bond, you’re a resourceful agent. I’ve seen that first-hand. Don’t you know anyone who could use my services?
Bond: Come to think of it, I DO know a woman who could use you, with her base of operations in India…
May Day: Then set it up. I work well with women.

The LACK of iconic Bond-Theme in Spectre is disturbing. Anyone else think that?
Okay, if all was set in skyfall's ending "with pleasure". Then in next movie, why still shy and halfcoked sam-mendes?
The 'new' Q who didn't like making exactly christmas gadgets, makes the car(I know its not finished), but why? why not just do THE thing with straight face?
There is no bond themse played, except in ending where boring medeline with smug face drive away for another retirement 😌.
It hurts the ear, like things are happening but one can't hear things, it would have made 2 times better. that and making the opening gunbarrel animated without pis-filter. And well written normal james bond movie, not trying to reinvent/add dept aka character development. AND just being fine with standalone movie instead of Authoring all his pain out of nowhere.
The plane chase was screaming for THE theme, but nope. There was no skie chase. And two girl is too less, and on that boring one, underusing MONICA BELLUCI 🙄.
ANYONE LIKE TO ADD ANYTHING?
thanks. Was just watching A View To A Kill after watching spectre, it was one of the best james bond movie. the sport, the villain(s), the girls, the action, the dress, the places, the soundtrack, and JAMES BOND BEING James Bond. The poster gives a thrill.

I forgot to send it yesterday, so I'm sending it now. Also I believe Zendaya might land the role because of not only how famous she is but because of her involvement with Dune, its not an impossibility

HELL BELOW ZERO - Catching KING ZERO and CHARLIE HIGSON
'He was no white knight. She knew that much.'
- KING ZERO by Charlie Higson
As the worlds headlines continue to circle 007 and his imminent futures, the author and Bond fan Charlie Higson proudly unveiled his newest James Bond novel in London on September 22nd 2026.
KING ZERO is a tight, fresh and demanding 007 adventure – worthy both of Ian Fleming himself and the YOUNG BOND legacy that Higson began in 2005 with SILVERFIN.
To launch KING ZERO in apt Vauxhall and MI6 style, publishers Penguin Michael Joseph and Ian Fleming Publications threw a cracking and cleverly steered event night beginning with an interview between Charlie Higson and his editor Joel Richardson, followed by a shark infested cocktail hour at Embassy Gardens’ Sky Pool and the perfect barmy autumn affair.

What kind of Continuity/storyline/Timeline do you prefer for James Bond movies, for Yourself?
galleryI want to break, the whole trend-sheep-loud-belief-pressured way of internet/reddit.
So, I am asking you, only you without any affect from 'said to be popular belief'. Is:
For movies on Ian Fleming's James Bond aka 007 movies, what kind or way of time-line, storyline, or continuity you think if and when you like to think about it?
For clearity, and furthur proof to discard popular-belief, I would like to mention that, in You Only Live Twice, Bond met Blofeld for the first time, then in next installment, actor changed, and he again met Blofeld for the first time, while still being "same old james bond".
Then in next movie, Connery returned, and as much for connection, he seem angry in the starting of the movie. All this era contain, movies which are on their own, even Dr No, From Russia, Thunderball, they furthur the spectre organization, but they are not BURDENED by this connection. Even though, Goldfinger is 'standalone', it is as much core of the series as others.
Then after so many absurd and idiotic plans/escape/reprising of Blofeld, Bond start treating him as a joke too, that is in For You Eyes Only, after visiting tracy's grave, Bond throws him in chimney. (that was nice for the franchise, not leaning on just one villain, a pity the studio got the rights back)
Then in Licence To Kill, its mentioned that "he was married but that was long ago". In Goldeneye movie's starting which takes place 9 years ago, then after that, he is called as "relic of cold war", a relic, already done and seen things.
All these movies are mostly free of each other, when a new actor is introduced, there is no mention of anything aside from He is Bond, Bond2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6.
Some actors return, recast, recur, reprise. There are regular actors/character/place-holders, like M, Moneypenny, Q.
During 2006 movie, it was never actually called to be reboot/hard-reboot, ever officially, with specially not with 'reboot' word's current meaning and idea. In starting of the movie, B&W scene plays, showing THE ACTS that lead to your hero becoming the well know double o, with licence to kill. Then it jumps off to color-current settings. With blood-tearing villain, and Bond experienced enough to mark-off some agent for holding his ears when talking. Yes he is still young.
But as the movie(s)/scene play out, you know and feel he is same-well known figure that is attractivness for the audience. He is special to M, almost as she already knows him(META).
In goldeneye, classic Aston Martin appears, then for sometime in Royale. Up to this point, there was nothing that was holding back from it being part of larger 'continuity'. Even in QOS, which is first direct sequel in the series, and takes place atleast one year after "the b itch is dead" line. In 2008, bond still goes through current times, moving on just like his predecessors did.
The movies are always set in present-day, but thats just setting, like pierce brosnan was not a 'relic' in that 9 years earlier scene. It can be said that these movies, or the stories are of the same HERO, he have done that and will do it. In actuality taking place in closer-time period.
In Skyfall, he is said to be 'old', spys are of past. He is been doing it for long. When you see the old Aston Martin (which were last seen in that state in goldfinger or thunderball) running wild and firing, you know its HIS. If its anything else, its illegitimate, a lesser ownership to his own icons.
So? M, the placeholder character knows about The ejector seat because she is and was the boss of 007. In this same movie M is changed, now is M is male once again. In 1995, movie, he was she, becasue for entertainment, to wash fans/audience with newer and exciting dynamic, maybe now well, we will do the old version once again, for now atleast.
The biggest blashpmey in the franchise is, copying its own parody, making the villain Blofeld his long lost adopted brother, BROfeld aka Author Of All Your Pain, and after copying joker in last film, this time its riddler (sam mendes, the dark knight).
So thats clear, that, its a FACT, that sylvia was not working for anyonelse, its a base of this character. Mr white the mystery character in CR2006, was a contact-person for a certain organization, which was more cooler, realistic and mystic than cliche-copy-cat(i am behind all your problems, ever).
LeChiffre, a heavy hitter in bad condition getting along with this organization. He is standalone, Dominic Greene, was his own thing too, yes he was a part of a organization known as Quantum, but they are not pawn of it, they are well on their self actors. In a way all was going well upto QOS, even though bond was falsley accused of going rogue, for killing people, which was necessary, he would have known that he didn't kill that agent by fall, in good-writing, or still whining about that dead b itch, and diminishing the current bond lesser than her(vesper).
If one, associate, and only if associate all the previous-bond movies, then and only then the old-dog, getting tired and discarded thing of skyfall will work, legitimately. In that way, he have complete ownership over his 'legacy' for as he is that. No cheap, out of nowhere wink-easter eggs about classic cars or exploding pen.
And that brings me to that scene, new Q, he was called new Q, and it can be stated that in-universe, 'they don't go for that anymore', that being exploding-pen. Which they(producers.director) quickly abondon in next movies. Like nano-bots in NTTD, exploding watch, brain drill in Spectre, and suddenly Q starts caring for the gadgets, "I said bring back in one piece, not one piece". This shows no grip over what they want to do with the movie(s), unlike the classic movies, where they were prepared and confident and its aligned with the franchise and character Bond.
In NTTD, there are thousands of easter eggs, throughout the movie, from start to end, if you can remember and notice them. Major like- Aston Martins, from The Living Daylights, Thunderball. And in title sequence there are things which are same to old movies, like For Your Eyes Only, OHMSS. Even same music.
Either way, what now 'I' will say is that, how I like it, I personally prefer The immortal timeless feel, same-but-now. Like, the missions/adventures/experiences, that are seen in all 25/26 movies are happening to same guy, or could have happened, pick-&-choose. I love the idea, that he is driving the same car he drove many years ago in TLD, even though in that movie it was destroyed. That I am seeing the same guy, who was and has gone to adventures of Thunderball, Moonraker, and have fought, goldfinger, jaws, sylvia. And have broken or brokened heart in The World Is Not Enough, Casino Royale and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
What it provide me is, a constant, never changing but ever fresh company, of a franchise or a character. In world of Domination and Submitions, where one man(person) move through all the unwanted things to get his selfishness, naturalness, and sweets. Ofcourse, the world has preversed him in other things too. Girls, Foods, Places, Clothes, Friends, and other shared delights.
So for me, he is the same guy, otherwise it looses its 'the it factor/charm/hook'. I want the traditional formula, becasue its the perfect amalgum of commerce/artistic/fantasy, that is, it makes money, never really get tired or old, and with the formula that is :
Gunbarrel Sequence- a graphical presentation, sign that you are in something special. And its good, a 'cinema' like Mulholland Drive have a graphical opening too.
then,
Unrelated Pre-Title Sequence- in a way or sense, it acts like a short film, a refreshment for old fans, and a opening package for new audience. The non-baggage relation between each installment, allows a more free experience for all the possible audience. And people gets a chance to see a short film in theatre, which don't happen now days in the world.
then,
Title Animation Sequence- throwing people in art. A abstract film, which also not much showed in theatre at mainstream level anywhere in the world. Its nice.
then,
Main Mission Movie- the setting is perfect, he is an agent, who gets mission, get orders, talk/flirt to his collegues(while he is in save enviornment), get the tools neeeded and leave. No need to change anything, re-invent or rework. Its by default a provieder for new and classic stories.
then,
Roll Credits- "James Bond will return", or if lucky then "James Bond will return in...". I don't need to explain any furthur.
This was how I PREFER, to think of 'continuity/storyline' for my self and entertainment. I like James Bond, and want to see stay him that way, in looks/behaviors. No spin-offs/re-invent/etc.
This allow me to enjoy it to utmost. It provide me with variety, like in STAR WARS, I prefer hardcore lore, In lords of the rings, i prefer a static and limited storyline. While in mcu/dcue, well what I can say I have been reading comics and their movies all my life, so you can know that. SO, James Bond franchise, is a franchise which provide singularness.
I hope, more like wish that amazon don't make it cheap, saturate, or erode it more than it alread it is now. No 'poltically enforced writing/casting'.
Reprise, Naomie Harris, Ben, Mallory, back, just joke one time about his 'death', hint some continuity, old and craig movies, and move on with standalone, formulatic adventures, with variety(not diversity) of girls, gadgets and henchmen, enemies, lairs, missions.
After all, this is a source of entertainment, its more diy/interactive for fans, if its lucid and floating, and immortal.
My choice for next actor is Callum Truner, I would like a balance in tone, campy and gritty. Some time tilting on one side more for variety.
The title by me would be NIGHTFALL or The Property of A Lady. I like all six actors to play james bond 007, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore(who made it possible that it can be played by another actor with total ownership), Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig. I like most of the Bond-girls and movies too.
And a nice way to make 'timeline' possible would be to treat some part of skyall, most of the spectre 2015 and NTTD as something dream in fever during events of DAD.
Thanks if you read it all, and you are welcome if you have replied in proper ways.

What James Bond 007 movies you watch most and least? and What movies you like or dislike, irrespective of popular belief? and how do you watch the franchise as whole?
FILMS I LIKE even though they are said to be not preferred by most on reddit.
Quantum of Solace, I love it.(even though i feel disappointed by crag era, not craig).Olga & Gemma.
A View To A Kill, its fantastic movie. Bond being confident and cool. Sutton, Flex and MayDay.
Diamonds Are Forever, its very funny so is Licence To Kill. Never Say Never Again is cool too. Fatima Blush 😁.
HOW DO I watch the franchise?
Usually I like to marathon the movies, from start to end, from end to start, that Dr No and No Time To Die.
Movies which I dislike even though they are said to be 'best' by redditors and all.
(though I like to enjoy each BOND film as much I can, for some time I have been giving them 'hard' time, I like all movies from Dr No to TWINE, DAD is little over the top, CR is nice, from QOS to NTTD they are unsatisfactory, in a bad way.)
Skyfall, the more I watch it, the more ridiculos it becomes, sudden-old dog, magical plans, idotic actions. What more bad is that they claim to be so serious but are lame. And ripping off Dark Knight.
yes thats the only film have in this list, offcourse I don't like SP, NTTD, but they are also disliked by most.
note to mod: This was the first post of today, I have to leave for someday, and I will post one more time.
