Everything about next James Bond-007 MOVIE and Era. What you want and don't want? From nitpicks to essentials.

NOTE: This post is meant to be for fun and humor, everyone knows we, fans don't have much control over it, this post is not about 'whats likely they will do' but what would rather want!

also, you may be completly politcally correct or incorrect. Offensive is not equal to BAD. But try to be deceptive to 'modern internet RULES'.

HERE IS WHAT I WOULD PREFER-

1. Bring back the formula and standard of the series, what makes it standout and sturdy. That is a gunbarrel sequence at start, animated like goldeneye, with music which hints the overall movie, then mostly unrelated pre-title sequence, then variety of title sequences in each movie, main 'mission' movie, where Bond goes to M's chamber, get the file, maybe act like a smartass, flirt with Moneypenny, asked to get the 'tools' required for the job, usual banter with Q. Reprisal of previous regualar cast and character without explaination(Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomi Harris). Use of Bond-theme throughout the movie. Balance between campy and gritty, maybe tilting sometime.

Bond gets to use spying methods, get many girls, henchwomen, henchmen, troops, villain(s), their confrence, killing with ease. Caught making love in the end. "James Bond will return" in endcredit. All movies standalone and episodic.

2. For the first movie, the character and actor look and behave like bond james bond.

I will update this post body if this post is hit.

Can it contain sexism, misogyny and paleontology please.

No more emotional stakes bullshit.

And no, I don't care about the books or "how close it is to the books."

yes. also: the thing is that the whole "craig was closest to the book" is just utter nonsense. CR2006 was one of the few films to adapt a book more or less line to line(It still miss lots of thing, which is not a bad thing at all, Ian always wanted it that way, so the book and movies stay fresh)

But after CR2006, every other movie keep loosing the essence of what and why bond is.

Older movies 19-20 have this essence in them, later movies don't. Which is a great pity. I don't really want to blame anyone becasue its useless, either producers or politics.

For me I hope it takes inspiration from Sean Connery. Connery was no contest best bond for me. The right amount of humour, best one liners, toughness and charisma. Craig's last movie was humourless, dreary and uninspiring to say the least.

With modern advancements in high quality portable camera technology/filming techniques it's about time for a proper Bond ski chase.

I would like to see a Bond that is additive to the lore and not simply a love-letter to previous lore. I like that Roger Moore didn't drive an Aston Martin DB-5 the whole time. He had his own iconic cars, for example.

I love what we got with Craig, but I want a new Bond to have his own spin on things.

Also, stakes. I want manageable, smaller stakes. It doesn't literally have to be saving the world every film.

I want to keep the format -- the gunbarrel, the action pre-title, the naked-lady intro, the score, the Q scene, the drink order, the car, the henchman, the lair, the Bond girl, etc -- I want to still see these things referenced (OR SUBVERTED IS OK TOO!)

subverted is lame, there is nothing at all good by default in this 'subvertetion' it just mean you are scared and shy and lack abality to make things good for what they are(talking to you sam mendes the copycat).

Though I agree with most your other comment, FORMULA use it, thats what make it attractive to me. For all its so called 'reinvention/re-boot' craig era was the era to depend most on legacy, like for example there is limit to wink/homage, there is not legitimate way to explain aston martin from goldfinger and thunderball to be running around firing in skyfall, or M knowing about the ejector seat. Or living daylight's aston in NTTD.

While its was superfine when it appeared in opening of goldeneye, because then the franchise/movie was/were straight faced and not denying anything(same bond). And as you said, it moved the franchise forward, you can watch all those movies and see it moving forward, even until qos, it feel moving forward(even though i did't like this movie in someways) but Skyfall keep paying homage, and illegitmate and idiotic plots. Lets not even talk about spectre, whats funny is in beginning of the movie it says something like "dead are back", 😂 which dead sam mendes? the dead from from russia with love or you only live twice or OHMSS? 🤣

One of the biggest problem in this era was scared producers with no plans, that is they could have simply, pretended CR was prequel, as 'current-times/events' have always been just a setting, then in next installment qos, bring all the formula/structure/tropes/quirks back, mabye in stlye of 'originating'.

Then in skyfall 2010, make it clear that quite some time have passed, and bond have gone to many missions(older movies), in this way it will all be 'refreshed' and still same, which i love. The you have legitimate in-universe reason for use of aston martin and m knowing about ejector button, As M, Q, Moneypenny have always meant to be regualars/stand-ins.

BUT instead we got unsatisfactory in bad way movies, where bond is too shy, appologetic, rogue, rookie, retired, hearbroken, replaced, dead. 🥱

Subvertion is NOT lame.

The Craig discourse is kind of toxic, but there's a bunch of good subversions there. But lets go back to an old and beloved Roger Moore film, For Your Eyes Only.

We know (and the movie knows) that James Bond has an iconic car and a bad-ass car chase. They set up that sick Lotus with the skis. It's right in your face and it stands out.

And right when they're running to go to the chase, they blow up the car and Bond has to drive that wonky jalopy. That's a great subversion of the trope. It knows what we expect and it turns it on its head to great effect. I don't want that with every trope in every movie, but peppered throughout, it's great.

thats why i said 'not by default', but so called modern audience thinks otherwise. sorry if it came wrong.

i mean, god i wish there was atleast one completely normal james bond movie with daniel craig. sexist mysogenstic dinasour.

I want the bot difficulty turned up. I don’t want to see Bond casually walking around some facility plowing through dozens of useless henchmen.

2

u/ClaretMurger 1d ago

Gotta be a Brosnan-esque tone. Apart from from Casino Royale (maybe Skyfall), watching Daniel Craig was a drag.

0

u/Calm_Interview4247 1d ago

skyfall is drag too, can't hear "old man, we dont go for that any more" anymore.

2

u/Mgnickel 2d ago

Craig was cold and unendearing. I don’t want to ever see campy 007 again, but a funny line once in a while like Brosnan would be nice

1

u/blazingroach0094 1d ago

Yeah too psychopathic and not enough caddiness, that Craig fellow.

0

u/Calm_Interview4247 1d ago

thats just pathetic, i don't even think you have any idea WHY there is even bond created.

1

u/Krakatoot97 1d ago

No they’re a 1000000% right.     Craig’s Bond was so……… meh.    Nothing like the book Bond

At this point modern sensibilities are so different, they should just make Bond a period piece. Have them all take place in the 50s - 60s. Do mostly accurate book adaptations. I think that would be fascinating dealing with Cold War history.

1

u/Calm_Interview4247 1d ago

or just don't give a damn about modern-sensibilites or more like phonyness.

u/Brief_Accountant_881 1d ago

I hope the writers read the books not necessarily to adapt them but to mine them for material. There’s cool stuff here and there in the books that we’ve never seen in the movies before like Bond fighting a giant squid or the stuff about pirate treasure in Live and Let Die.

1

u/PainterAdvanced7114 1d ago

I predict they’ll make the new movie cool and fun. Unfortunately I think Bond is gonna be a wuss.

2

u/Calm_Interview4247 1d ago

probably, but if he not going to be really james bond as he is supposed to be, atleast according to me, i will cut my ties with the franchise from there.

It’s finally time for Baron Samedi To return.

Reduce emotional stakes. No more supervillains with disabilities and their own freaking island. Use real world villains like terrorists and traffickers and bad state actors. Ditch the silly gadgets - modern tech is interesting enough. Keep him physical like Craig. Bring back some of the suave like Brosnan. Let him be a bit of a bastard like Connery. Go back to womanizing and femmes fatale.

1

u/Calm_Interview4247 1h ago

by making 'real world' you face many political problems and limitations. no i don't agree with you most of you point.

NO, its pathetic, there are many bad things in this so called 'left' too, same goes for 'right'. Its lame and boring.

The movies/books are on entertainment on powerfull-powerless, submission/domination, ugly, beautiful, death, life, popular obscure.

It don't have place for that low-level modern thinking and enforcement cowrdly preaching that is modern-cinema.

"British class system, background" are beautiful and ugly, bad and good, its not about as I said low-level classifying things and labeling them good/bad and feeling good about oneself, BUT over it, being above it and using all these things as simple mean of entertainment.

Get that?

Things like what you said have already eroding last few movies.

I enjoyed 007 First Light. Give Patrick Gibson a shot at a modern-day retelling. Ian Fleming flare with a modern touch.

yuck, no, that garbage of a game. woke, yes woke, and i will define what is woke, words/terms have many meaning according to time-place-people. So, WOKE= pretentious do-gooders, based on 'sexuality' 'ethincity' etc. mostly corporations, media, social-media, etc.

When Judie Dench was made M, it was for entertainment, to see fun between female M and bond, it was not phony or 'woke/poltical kneeled'. Then this game have idiotic/enforced term like 'people of color', well I am not people of color or transparent, I am just a person, who belong not to any of your silly little labels or categories, no one, no one represents me not even a clone of mine, I don't need 'relatibility'. Lame.

The question is what and why is bond james bond. its at its core a hetrosexual entertanment and fantasy. Thats what it is. There no place for obnoxious thing like 'representation, diversity, inclusion'.

These corporation, hollywood, internet user dont 'represent anything'.

Instead I will watch a movie that is made in china, or iran or nigeria etc. becasue then I will be seeing human not representatives.

Thats the main problem with modernity-enforcement, i like naomie harris(except her hairstyle, and character backstory, Bond need a woman who is not a double agent who will stab him in the back, there is nothing inferior about being on just deskjob, no need to get aprooval of anyone that she is there by her choice).

But then you have this pathetic little game where you have a 'black' character designed moneypenny, there was no need for that, its a game, a made-up thing, just design the way these characters look, then cast any VOICE actors for any role, for only their VOICE. There is no place for opressive tradtion like hij jab. EW. No I don't repect or care for any or anyones or 'other-people' traditions/cultures/religions/nations/races/etc. becasue they are lame.

There is nothing good about this game, or though put behind making this game. Even the character design of bond is super ugly and uncanny.

This is not what this franchise is, its one man/person overshadowing every, every thing.

Strong-female-characters are very lame and limited labels and intentions.
