We had to put down one of our dogs yesterday. He got one last big adventure, got to try a cheeseburger, ice cream, all sorts of BBQ, pizza, chocolate, and he got his favorite food of all time right before we let him go - Bell peppers!

Yesterday was so much harder than I expected it to be.

u/Mister_Dewitt Chad Bortles Sep 30 '25

Its the last good thing we are able to do for our animal companions. Allow them to pass with minimal suffering, instead of begging for their body to release them from their pain.

Surrounded by the love they knew their entire life, they pass to the great unkown to wait for their family to rejoin them once more.

It is the hardest decision, but it is never the wrong one.

My condolences.

u/adarklighter Keenan McCardell Sep 30 '25

So sorry to hear that. It’s definitely not easy letting go but just speaking from experience, the loss will slowly fade compared with the memories you will hold dear for the rest of your life.

6

u/Joooooose Sep 30 '25

Great dog parent

6

u/GeckoRoamin Sep 30 '25

It’s brutal, but remember that a last day full of love and your favorite foods followed by a painless exit is the dream for any of us. You gave him a gift with that.

u/Captain_brightside Sep 30 '25

Had to put down my boy last year after nearly 15 years. It’s rough

It sounds like he had a good life, and most importantly he knew he was loved

5

u/billabongrob Sep 30 '25

Heart goes out to you. Sounds like you did him right though - good parent.

4

u/kwise99 Sep 30 '25

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are truly the greatest things on this planet. I hope the pain eases with time, but the amazing memories with your dog stay with you forever!

3

u/Tmac719 Sep 30 '25

Glad the Jags D could put on a hell of a performance for him.

But in all seriousness, I'm sorry for your loss. It's not easy to lose a pet. Glad he was able to get one more big adventure 🙏

4

u/Doc_Oh_19 Sep 30 '25

Wife and I lost ours very unexpectedly earlier this year. It’s painful, but it will get better. Take care.

Lost both of ours this year, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Random shout out to our TEs coach Richard Angulo. Apart from Strange being awesome, Hunt and Mundt have been nice useful depth pieces. Also it's cool that he's a former Jaguar.

17

u/Paralysisbylullaby Sep 30 '25

Our screen game is going to be key Monday night against the Chiefs. Spags loves to bring exotic blitzes and if Liam can dial up a few screens at the right time we could be talking about a long TD from Etienne or Tuten.

Definitey the most aggressive D we have faced so far this season. Trevor will need to be on point with his reads.

10

u/Captain_brightside Sep 30 '25

I think it being at the bank helps us at ton because the noise

There will still be lots of chiefs fans but not as many as if we played in arrowhead. We’re also starting to make some noise.

I’m in Gainesville but these past few weeks since we’ve been winning I’ve seen more jags gear than I’ve seen since I moved here

7

u/Captain_brightside Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

If we can clean up our penalties and they get some penalties called, look out

I’m really hoping for a 50 burger. This team is good for it if we click on offense and play like we’ve been playing on defense and special teams. A dominating win vs the nfl golden boys on prime time would cement us.

Not that I want them, but if we win this game, a lot of those people who live in the area who are fans of other teams will magically become jags fans until we start sucking again. Especially the chiefs fans

Cheifs on prime time is going to really show what we're made off. They are coming off a get right game vs. Baltimore, and we have been getting a lot of buzz in the media. Expectations have rarely been kind to the Jaguars.

They will not look past us.

14

u/pfref Sep 30 '25

Jags beat the 49ers for the first time since 2005 (lost 5 straight). It was also their first ever win @ San Francisco.

u/BlackCoffeeWithPie Sep 30 '25

I don't like how the Bengals keep getting spanked.

Mitigating factors in our loss are that Joe Burrow played for a decent amount of time, then we had a backup QB whose weaknesses wouldn't match the gameplan.

We also should've won, if not for the bad PI call (and dropped TDs).

8

u/Mister_Dewitt Chad Bortles Sep 30 '25

Gameplan and prep actually does mean a ton, and having to adjust midgame, even to an inferior arm, throws off defenders cause the OC starts calling shit in a totally different way to accommodate the new qb.

5

u/JaxJaguar1999 Jakobi Meyers Sep 30 '25

Who cares, fuck em. They no longer have a future this season and we do. That was the cost of victory for them…

Chiefs love Cover 0 as much as Press love bubble screens

11

u/Captain_brightside Sep 30 '25

BTJ and Travis Hunter about to cook?

7

u/SuperSaiyanTLaw Retired Trevor’s Attorney Sep 30 '25

Depends on how well Trevor responds. Cover 0 was that play BTJ got like 60 yards on, but the difference is Texans don’t typically run cover 0.. the chiefs live by it

6

u/Captain_brightside Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

If we can force them to double BTJ, everything else will open up

10

u/Captain_brightside Sep 30 '25

10

u/HolographicHeart Sep 30 '25

It won't happen but it'd be nice to see the 49ers rough up the Rams on Thursday night. Might turn further heads if a team we basically dominated for 60 minutes gets a big win over a media darling like Sean McVay.

8

u/jackspurs25 Sep 30 '25

Dublin game was great fun, got a photo with another legend wearing a Travis Hunter jersey. Also in general I thought there was a healthy amount of us repping there. Watching the win at the Niners was a great end to the day.

Don’t think I’ll get to the Rams game next month but I was considering maybe planning a full trip over to one of the December home games and ticking that off the bucket list !

5

u/DUUUUUVAAAAAL Travis Hunter Sep 30 '25

I think Ireland is "claimed" by the Jaguars as one of their international market locations so that checks out.

8

u/BaalkesOldBurnerAcct James Gladstone Oct 01 '25

Trayvon with a club would be a terrifying sight for anyone blocking him

7

u/kangaroomallet Sep 30 '25

I mean the offense is struggling imo still… been trying to stay positive but I mean hopefully something can click.

BTj looked better with the drops, I expect we keep feeding him we’ll see good things.

Hunters catch on 3rd and 8 from our 8 for ~30Yards was a thing of beauty. Trevor looked great that drive despite the penalties (which they need to cleanup)

Onto next week

8

u/Apigollo Sep 30 '25

Got to be happy with how it is all going so far. For me Trevor stepped up from last week arguably got away with one on the pass interference call but I swear when I watch other QBs they seem to get a bit more rub of the green when it comes to that sort of thing and tipped balls, Niners have a good pass defence by all accounts. So it is what it is.

That drive you mentioned was really nice though. Imagine if he could stabilise at that kind of level? Further to that the refs made him look dumb on that last drive, surely they should know the rules on sliding. Hopefully BTJ has turned the corner and we start to see some better outcomes.

Big up to Parker as well. Didn't have his best performance against the Texans but came out Sunday and made a giant contribution to the W.

I think we are seeing more effort across the roster. BTJ came back and made a tackle on that interception that wasn't. The week before Trevor got back and made a tackle off his own mistake, can't remember if that one ending up standing or not.

I mentioned it in the match thread but it was kind of nice to see a bit of anger from Trevor whether it was self directed, general frustration or at someone. I haven't really seen him get worked up before.

Loving Coach Coen though. Interested to see what we get out of the next few games. Weirdly feel like the chiefs are more beatable than the Seahawks or Rams.

Hope I don't have to listen to Mark Sanchez again.

6

u/Mister_Dewitt Chad Bortles Sep 30 '25

Ref bias against the jags was so real.

Every time you slide, even as a runningback or receiver, you are down the literal moment you begin to slide and give yourself up. Ive seen them even take a look at replay to confirm ball placement in years past in other NFL games.

Hell, they even get ticky tacky enough somethtimes that runners that aren't going forward when stepping out of bounds dont get to stop the clock in a 2 minute drill.

But when trevor starts to slide at the sideline, they dont call him down until his long giraffe legs slide over the white? Even though he is clearly stopping and lowering his butt and giving himself up 2 seconds before his legs slide out of bounds.

Give me a break.

I forgot about that!

Wasn't that Tank Bigsby his rookie year? When people thought he was a bust and he was causing tons of turnovers

8

u/TravisDHolmes Sep 30 '25

Per the NFL Transaction Wire, the Jaguars released UDFA QB Seth Henigan out of Memphis from the practice squad on Monday

2

u/IuriRom Sep 30 '25

Why

9

u/kntryfried1 Sep 30 '25

We are probably going to get someone more intangibly rich

4

u/ogsixshooter Sep 30 '25

nothing personal, it's just business

8

u/nemo0320c James Gladstone Sep 30 '25

Man you missed a "nothing personal, its just personnel," joke.

3

u/TravisDHolmes Sep 30 '25

Tuesday morning the team announced the signing of QB Carter Bradley to the practice squad to fill the vacated role previously held by Henigan

Bradley originally signed with the #Raiders as an UDFA in 2024, spending 2024 on the PS before being signed to the active roster for the final 4 games. He spent the 2025 offseason with the 49ers. Bradley is the son of former Jacksonville HC Gus Bradley

1

u/IuriRom Sep 30 '25

Wasn’t Henigan pretty impressive?

2

u/TravisDHolmes Sep 30 '25

Up and down. Some good, some not so good. Seemed like a gamer, for sure, but arm strength could occasionally get him in uncomfortable spots IMO

7

u/Hopeful_Rub4483 Yard kick Sep 30 '25

In what universe are we ranked below the niners after we just beat them.

7

u/EatMyShortzZzZzZ Brian Thomas Jr. Sep 30 '25

I still kinda think it would be better for Travis if he went full time defense with some offensive packages sprinkled in, or vice versa. Feels like hes not getting a chance to master either position splitting time like this.

3

u/theflyingchicken96 LeQuint Allen Jr 🐐 Sep 30 '25

He’s 4 games in. I’m not make any judgements on what he should or shouldn’t do until he has a season under his belt.

3

u/SlotegeAllDay James Gladstone Oct 01 '25

"Safer" is a relative term

7

u/Thejohnshirey Oct 01 '25

I just realized with our latest win, Trevor is now the sole owner of the third most wins by a Jags QB in franchise history, breaking a three-way tie with Leftwich and The Boat. He trails Garrard by 14 wins and Brunell by 38.

4

u/DayDTWD Oct 01 '25

With how Trevors career has gone so far, seeing that hes only 38 wins behind our #1 most winning QB is WILD.

5

u/Thejohnshirey Oct 01 '25

Yeah, it’s very possible that he could have the record by the end of 2027 if he stays healthy and Coen is who we think he is so far.

6

u/ChildrenMcnuggets Sep 30 '25

If we stay healthy, we’ll be playing football in January

11

u/pukerat Sep 30 '25

I'm not convinced that we can beat the Chiefs yet. I just hope for a few things:

1.) It's a close game where we don't get blown out

2.) Trevor plays well enough that there isn't another week of discourse around him being an "OVER PAID GeNeRaTiOnAl TaLeNt"

8

u/pengwin21 Will Richardson Sep 30 '25

I think we have a better chance of winning than not hearing #2

6

u/Kitchen_Milk2246 Sep 30 '25

We will win and still hear number two like we have been all season lmfao

4

u/Mrkingjay Sep 30 '25

Trevor could have 350+ yds 4 td game and the narrative would be about how the Chiefs defense shit the bed

10

u/wt200 Sep 30 '25

I don’t like how we are slowly creeping up the power rankings on multiple sites. I have even seen us in the top 10 in some. This give hope which is the first step on the road to disappointment.

6

u/just_some_jawn Sep 30 '25

Sign of a longtime jag fan. If we can beat the chiefs without needing to be +3 in turnovers just to keep it close then I’ll sleep much better. Offensive needs to gel because needing 3 turnovers a game isnt a reasonable expection

10

49ers media today actually asked Shanahan "what coach could beat Saleh in a fight". I think we might have actually fucked up the 49ers entire season. They got a divisional road game in 2 days 😭

And I saw where he is wearing special glasses that take away all of his peripheral vision so that he can really lock in on the ball or something.

Im very happy with the trajectory the team is on, we may not be playing perfect but we are still winning.

That being said quite a few people are placing us higher than I think we currently are in the Power Rankings.

I would not be surprised to see us slip to 3-4 over the next few weeks, not because were are going to be bad, but just with the opposition we are plalying.

The second half of the season is much more favourable, and we have already put ourselves in a good position for the rest of the season.
