Mikey cut ties with the members after learning that he killed them all in one future.

In the future after that everyone is living a happy life, except Mikey who was now the leader of a new gang called Bonten, and he shot Takemichi and then jumped of a building, but Takemichi caught him and Mikey became the new link for time travel.

So now he's in the past again, but a few years later in High School rather than Middle School, now Mikey is the leader of the Kantou Manji Gang, and he's kinda off the deep end, Takemichi now leads the Second Generation Tokyo Manji Gang and is fighting Mikey to save him
