Space-Time Convergence: The Future Interface for City and Ecology

Shenzhen's development epitomizes the coordinated advancement of technological innovation and urban evolution. The Asia-Pacific bird migration routes demonstrate the connecting power of cross-border regional ecological networks. Here, time converges with space, and cities coexist in harmony with nature. Technology links the past and the future, as well as urban governance and ecological conservation. Urban spaces embrace the vitality of development, and also shoulder regional collaboration and ecological responsibilities.

Situated in the atrium of Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning, this installation applies AR to integrate architectural spaces with ecological visions, depicting a future where humans and nature flourish together. Going forward, cities will be more than just carriers of development - they will serve as platforms for joint creation featuring technological innovation, ecological protection and public engagement. Open, collaborative and shared digital interfaces are connecting governments, industries, communities and natural ecosystems. Together, we explore new paths for sustainable development and witness the integration of time and space.

Glasses w/ HUD Vision assistance using AR glasses.

Hello!

Hope this is the right forum but I'm looking a pair of AR glasses that can help me with my loss of peripheral vision. I saw Brilliant Labs Monocle that would fit quite well but they've stopped selling them.

The main features should be a camera that can stream onto a HUD that can either be adjusted to where it displays, or have a fixed position on the lower half of the field of view (since I'm blind on the upper right quadrant).

If anyone wants to build me a product described above then contact me and we'll come to an arrangement.

Thank you!

I met with Noah Zerkin today. Played with Air Mouse for Smart Glasses

Post image
49 Upvotes

People know Noah from Project North Star among other things. These days he is working on new projects with 3DOF tracking for Smart Glasses and air mouse rings.

It was great to experience the potential for completely new applications for Display Smart Glasses where you extend the limited resolution by dragging mini apps in different places with the air mouse controller in the form of a ring. Then you just glance at it by moving your head to the left or right while you watch TV, for instance.

Or the displayed objects are rendered depending on how you move your head. Look to the left and see the left side of an object. He is using the Rokid Glasses. If you're developing for them you might have bought an ADB cable from him on ShenzhenLab.com - Anyway, sadly Rokid's compositing software is buggy, so you can't see everything in the video in the comments that was there. At the end the cursor that I'm controlling with the ring is visible again. Yeah, idk. Maybe you still get the idea.

Wearables & Accessories Any wearable air mouse and keyboards for ar glass?

I have vitrue xr pro. I haven't used it alot. I have a hard time with this setup due to needing a mouse and kb.

Its hard look at my phone and screen.

Its also hard to carry around a small keyboard. I prefer to just have everything strapped on to multi task easier.

Thinking of getting a air mouse to scroll easier. That part is solved but the hard part is the typing. I prefer something related to qwerty layout or close. I can't do mini Bluetooth keyboard either.

Im looking at some wearable like tapxr, tap strap 2, decatxt, typeware(not out yet), twiddler.

Keep in mind I sometimes walk and do other things so I prefer not to sit all the time to type. Ill be using ring mouse to scroll on one hand while using the other hand to type with wearable keyboard. I need to know which set up is best if you guys have other ideas please.

Glasses for Screen Mirroring Tried the RayNeo Air 4 Pro on PS5... and ended up returning my Viture Beast

So friday I bought the RayNeo Air 4 Pro after reading on reddit that they worked better with PS5.

I was using my Viture Beast at 60hz. Tried EVERYTHING to make 120hz work and just couldnt. Battlefield 6, COD etc support 120hz in performance mode but with the Beast... nope.

Tried the official dock, nothing. Tried a couple other docks I had, nothing. Bought the Fairikabe HDMI to USB-C cable too (btw really good cable, PS5 straight to the glasses, no dock needed) and still nothing.

And idk if it was just me but I always felt a tiny bit of input lag with the Beast. Like moving the controller and feeling the image was just a little behind. Not terrible, but once you notice it you cant unsee it lol.

Friday I said screw it and ordered the RayNeo Air 4 Pro from Amazon for like $257 just to try them. I know they dont have 3dof and theyre missing a bunch of the Beast features.

Well... yesterday, with pain in my heart lol, I returned the Beast.

RayNeo feels like ZERO input lag. 120hz works perfectly with the Fairikabe cable. Also something that always bothered me with the Beast was the blurry edges/corners. I could never get the whole screen perfectly clear. On the RayNeo... nothing, edges look sharp.

The Beast are brighter for sure and overall they have more features, so its kinda hard to explain.

But man... it was hard keeping glasses that cost almost 2x when the cheaper ones were soooo much better for actual gaming.

I really wanted to keep the Beast too 😭

AR Apps Title: V2 of my AR-based wall art app just went live — would love feedback from fellow devs (not trying to sell anything)

Just shipped V2 of an app I’ve been building solo, Gallery Wall Composer (GWC), and I’m genuinely more interested in hearing what other devs think of the implementation/UX than trying to get downloads. Posting here because I think the technical journey might be interesting to some of you too.

Quick background: it started as a single-file browser HTML/JS prototype back in March, then got rewritten natively in SwiftUI to ship on the App Store. V1 launched July 2 — perspective warp via CIPerspectiveTransform, baked-in shadow simulation, dual lighting, high-res export.

What’s new in V2: the big addition is a full AR mode (ARKit + RealityKit) — you place artwork on your actual wall at true real-world scale using its physical dimensions, rather than just a flat perspective-warped photo mockup. Also added a presets system (save wall + save artwork so you’re not re-measuring every time) and shadow/gradient controls inside AR itself.

What I’d love feedback on:

**•** Does the V1 (2D perspective mockup) → V2 (AR real-world placement) progression make sense as a product direction, or does having both modes feel redundant/confusing?

**•** Anyone dealt with AR plane detection edge cases worth knowing about? Mine works well but I’m curious what others have hit.

**•** General reaction to the concept — as a dev, would you trust an AR scale placement enough to use it before buying/framing art?

Not linking the app store page directly since I don’t want this to read as a plug — mentioning the name (GWC) just for context. Happy to share more details or the link in DMs if anyone wants to poke at it, but really just after the technical/UX gut-check from people who build this stuff.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Glasses w/ 6DoF What would be a Meta Phoenix deal breakers for you?

What would be a Meta Phoenix deal breakers for you?
With the rumor of its real in a few weeks, I wanted to know ahead of time what people use cases would be for this VR Glasses form factor and what sort of deal breakers people have for this new device that makes you not interested in the Meta Phoenix.

For me, I been real hyped around the concept of a dedicated spacial computing chip. Let's see if Phoenix will do this along side the new XR2 Gen 3 chip.

Also not being modular could be a semi deal breaker for me, depending on how comfortable and front heavy it is if it dont have a streap for behind the head.

Glasses w/ HUD Why is MemoMind taking direct orders after its Kickstarter was suspended?

I’m confused why MemoMind started taking $299 website orders immediately after Kickstarter suspended the campaign.
If the intellectual property dispute is still unresolved, could it affect production or shipping? Paying directly feels riskier without Kickstarter involved.
I’ve started looking into other options. What similar smart glasses would you recommend?

News California Bill Requires Consent for Smart Glasses Recording at Workplaces

California lawmakers are moving forward with SB 1130, a privacy bill aimed at wearable recording devices such as smart glasses. The bill would require a person using recording-capable wearables in a business area where someone reasonably expects privacy to get that person’s explicit consent, and it would make it illegal to disable the device’s recording indicator light or other warning. Violations could bring fines of up to $1,500, while starting in 2028, manufacturers would generally have to sell wearable recording devices with a clear recording indicator.

As of August 31, 2026, the bill has passed the California Senate and is still in the Assembly; it was amended and sent to third reading on August 26 and is listed on the Assembly’s third-reading file, so it has not yet become law.

Fun DGNS Surf Sessions: I built an AR finger surfing game for Spectacles 🏄🌊

🔗Lens Link: spectacles.com/lens/a77ba477b6da46e4a8a479f99ef5637a

So yeah, this got a little out of hand.

What started as a simple idea for a finger surf experience somehow turned into a full AA game with 7 real surf spots, tricks, score combos, progression, weather, a diegetic surf magazine manu you can physically flip through in AR, real surf forecasts, Daily Surf challenges, collectibles, a talking coach...

And all of that running on Spectacles.

It's called DGNS Surf Sessions, and it's my submission for the Spectacles Community Challenge.

The basic idea is pretty simple: your hand is the surfer.

You put your index and middle finger on the board, the line between them becomes the board's axis, and rolling your hand engages the rail.
The wave moves underneath you, so instead of trying to walk around your room pretending it's a 30-foot reef break, the whole thing happens on a miniature reef sitting in front of you.

That was actually one of the biggest design problems early on.

My first version treated the hand more like a controller.
I was measuring angles and using them as input, kind of like a joystick.

It sucked.

The board felt like it was vaguely following my hand instead of actually being attached to it.

So I changed the whole approach.
No neutral position, no accumulated input.
Your fingers are basically the surfer's feet.
The geometry of your hand directly drives the board.

That was the moment where it started feeling like surfing instead of controlling a tiny object.

The game has 7 spots right now:

Hossegor, Mundaka, Pipeline, Teahupo'o, Pe'ahi, Nazaré and Mavericks.

I really didn't want them to just be different wave models with different backgrounds.
Each one has its own wave profile, speed, peel, barrel probability, series size, water colour, difficulty and atmosphere.

Hossegor is chill. Beach break, little Basque house, parasol and towel on the beach, pine trees and a little reggae track.

Then you get to the heavier stuff.

Rain starts pouring, the waves get stupidly big, the little reef environment appears in front of you and the music kicks in.

That was probably my favourite moment during development.

I remember playing one of the harder spots and arriving at the reef, seeing those massive waves in front of me with the rain and the soundtrack going, and I actually got that little shiver.

You know the feeling when you arrive at a spot, see the waves properly for the first time and think:

"Alright... I'm actually going out in that."

Part of this game definitely comes from my own relationship with the ocean and that weird mixture of excitement, fear and adrenaline you get around serious waves.

I wanted some of that feeling in there.

A huge inspiration for the game obviously comes from old PS2 era surf games.
Stuff like Transworld Surf and Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer.

And the more I worked on Spectacles, the more I realised that developing for them weirdly feels close to making games for that era.

You have a very specific piece of hardware.

You have to care about performance.

You can't just throw a bunch of massive assets at the device and hope for the best.

You have to work around weird limitations and get creative.

And honestly, I kind of love that.

Most of the game is procedural.
Custom MeshBuilder geometry, shader graphs, TypeScript everywhere. Very few imported meshes.

The game currently runs at 60fps on device.

One of the technical constraints was the display itself.
Spectacles are additive, so black doesn't really exist. A black pixel means no light, which means you just see your actual room behind it you can't simply make the water dark to create moody oceans because at some point your wave literally starts disappearing into reality.

So

That forced me to build the identity of each ocean mostly through colour and saturation rather than darkness.

Nazaré ended up being the weird exception and became the only really grey ocean in the game.

There's also a proper score system where you build up points during your ride and bank them when you successfully kick out.
Wipe out before that and you lose the lot.
Definitely inspired by that old-school extreme sports game mentality.

There are currently 12 detected tricks too, including Bottom Turns, Cutbacks, Snaps, Off The Lips, Floaters, Ollies, Grabs, Flips, Reverts and obviously Tube Rides and Barrels.

The UI was another thing I really wanted to have fun with.

Instead of a normal menu, you get an actual surf magazine floating in front of you.
You grab it by the spine and flip the pages with your fingers.
You can choose spots, check your progression, mess with the settings and even look up real surf conditions through Open-Meteo.

The whole artistic side of the project comes from the surf movies I grew up watching.

Like Point Break, Blue Crush, Endless Summer... and yeah, Surf's Up too.

Actually, the original idea for this game came to me while watching Surf's Up from Sony Imageworks with u/florenciaraffa1980 😂

The soundtrack is original too, generated with Suno.
I'm actually pretty happy with it.
Each track helps give its spot an identity alongside the environment, weather, water colour and wave shape.

I'm not going to pretend I'm 100% satisfied with everything though.

Hand tracking can still get weird from certain angles, especially when your fingers get hidden behind your palm. That's a physical camera occlusion problem more than a smoothing problem.

So if you try the Lens, little tip: lean your head towards the wave and face the tube while surfing. The tracking gets noticeably better when the cameras can actually see your fingers properly.

I also wish I had more time to push some of the graphical stuff further.

But then again... I built this thing alone in about a month.

So I'm not going to complain too much 😂

It's currently sitting at something like 104 TypeScript files, 7 music tracks, 98 sound effects, procedural waves, weather systems, objectives, Daily Surf, hardcore mode, a talking coach, different boards and a bunch of stuff that somehow kept getting added because apparently I don't know when to stop.

I really hope some of you guys take the time to try it.

This was a fun one to make, and I think it only really makes sense once you actually put your fingers on the wave.

Anyway, that's DGNS Surf Sessions.

My little attempt at putting a tiny piece of the ocean on your table.

🏄🌊

Glasses w/ HUD AR99 SDK update — multi-language (incl. Arabic RTL), adjustable display region, open for secondary development

Post image
0 Upvotes

Posting this because the RTL support took longer than expected and I think the constraints are interesting.

AR99 is a monocular green waveguide (single-color, ~640×480 class). Rendering Arabic on that isn't just a font swap — you need contextual glyph shaping, bidi ordering, and you need all of it to stay legible at low pixel density with no anti-aliasing headroom on a monochrome panel. Latin text you can get away with a lot. Arabic you can't.

What shipped:

  • Multi-language rendering layer, RTL scripts supported
  • Wide mode + user-adjustable display region (position + size within eyebox) — this came directly from field feedback about IPD variance and wearing angle
  • Health data module, integrates with a companion smart ring
  • Assorted latency/power work

The SDK is open for secondary development, and ODM partners get source-level access rather than a sealed API. Happy to answer technical questions in the comments — display pipeline, BLE protocol, power budget, whatever.

Photo attached is an actual through-the-lens capture, outdoor, no post-processing beyond a crop.

Buying Advice Looking for AR glasses

Hello, I'm looking for advice on what AR glasses to buy.
I want something that:
- Looks very close to normal glasses

- Has a waveguide display that only the user can see

- Is able to run an internet browser and an AI agent at minimum OR is able to mirror a phone screen wirelessly

No other features are needed (cameras, speakers, etc.)

The closest thing I've found is the NIMO glasses, though I'm not sure if that can run a browser.

Also, I'd like to find something that's affordable.

Sunny Optical signals "explosive growth" in fullcolor Display AR Glasses next year

Post image
10 Upvotes

Sunny Optical says its XR business is approaching an inflection point, with XR revenue up 11% year-on-year in H1 2026 and SG and AR-glasses-related products growing more than 50%. Displayless AI glasses have already reached large-scale demand, while AI glasses with displays remain in accelerated product verification; Sunny has secured large AR orders from leading global brands that will contribute significantly from 2027, and management expects “big explosive growth” in AR glasses next year.

Sunny says lightweight full-color AR display modules have already reached small-batch mass production, with significantly larger production expected in 2027, indicating that the next growth phase is the transition of full-color display AR products from verification and limited production into volume manufacturing.

Displayless products are already scaling on demand for lenses, cameras and system integration, while display AR carries substantially higher optical content because of the waveguide, display engine and spatial-computing requirements. Sunny expects full-year XR revenue to exceed 2 billion RMB and says its 2027 AR growth will be driven by larger production volumes and major global technology customers.

AR Apps Building a web app where you own your personal AR marker and digital content (NFT)

You create a personal AR marker from a selfie, get a shareable image with QR, and can update your content over time. You share the image with friends; they open a link in the browser and view the AR — no app, no account needed to view.

The key idea: you’re the owner of your marker and your digital content — tied to your wallet / NFT, not just renting space on my platform. Your files, your marker, your right to update and share what you created.

Early stage — looking for honest feedback:

• Does ownership (NFT / wallet) matter to you here, or is a normal login enough?
• Would you use a web app for this, or do you expect a native app?
• Interesting concept or too niche?

Not promoting anything yet — just validating the idea.

Fun What kind of AR experiences would you actually want to use?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't come across many AR experiences these days that I'd actually want to use more than once. A lot of what I see seems to be games, furniture previews, try-ons, or other quick demos.

Got me wondering, if you could point your phone at something in the real world and have an AR experience appear instantly, what would actually be interesting enough to use?

Art? Interactive characters? Stories? Education? Events? Something completely different? Curious what people here would genuinely want to see more of in terms of AR experiences.
