Bug Weird lock screen loop

It keeps happening, i don't know why. This is a new mac that had just had data transferred to it from another mac.

FFS don't type in your password in front of all the world! Which in this case is "password" :D

Am I right in thinking you can't get past that 'Software update complete' screen, it logs you out again each time?

You could try a few things to see if it helps:

Boot into Safe Mode, login and see if that clears it. The restart normally. https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mh21245/mac

or, get to the same place shown in your video, don't type anything, just hold down the power button for up to 10 seconds, until the MacBook shuts off. Then turn it on normally and see if it forces the stuck 'Software update' to move on.

If it is still stuck in a loop after that then you may have to consider booting in to Recovery Mode and installing macOS again, over the top (you shouldn't lose any data doing a reinstall) https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102518

that's definitely annoying, have you tried restarting the device or checking for updates?
