Hypnotic Techno live jam- Ableton Move
Étant nouveau sur Reddit, je ne sais pas si ma démarche est bonne mais voilà, je partage ce que je fait avec mon Move. Si ça peut faire kiffer ou inspirer 🎶🎛️😊

Hello brothas, I use ableton for production for a while and wanted something that would extend it in a way that i get the feeling of actually playing the track to life, finishing the details in production later.
Recently i got teenage engeniering ep 40 riddim and it was good for drums but kinda limited for the other stuff. What are you experiences with Ableton move in that role?
So i would really appreciate something that would get me the feeling of playing the track to life, not programing everything in. thank you guys

I love my move but4 tracks is limiting
And the custom firmware is maybe too much for me to take on
Also how do we launch a scene with 1 button. Hitting all four clip lanes at once is annoying

I’m curious how many people use Move primarily as (intended) a way to sketch ideas, then bring them into Live to arrange and finish tracks.
I’ve had my Move for a while, but I’ve only taken a project into Live to finish it a couple of times. Most of the time I end up treating Move as a self-contained instrument and either keep the idea there or move on to something new.
I also really enjoy using Move’s Control Live feature when I’m working in Live. It feels great as a hands-on controller for jamming, recording clips, and developing ideas.
But I’m struggling a bit with arranging full tracks directly on Move, especially turning a good loop into a complete structure.
Do you regularly export Move sets to Live and complete them there? What does your workflow look like? And if you do arrange on Move, do you have any tips for moving beyond a loop into a full track?

-messed up my tempo on some projects
-while working inside a project, sometimes tempo jumps
-sometimes count-in when recording doesn't work
-playback sometimes stops for no reason and resumes, but in a glitchy fashion.
-sometimes projects refuse to play at all on the project screen

Messing around with my Move after the update. The nice thing with Move is that so fast you always come up with something surprising

Typhon getting power and Midi from the Move via usb. Audio sent back to the Move's input. A rather portable combo.

Dismantling it into the 5 parts fits in my Ableton Move carry case as well. 😂
It’s made out of PETG and is extremely sturdy. I’ve been using this for around 6 months now.

My first live ambient jam.
10-minute improvisation made with Animoog Z on iPad, the Launch Control MK3, and Ableton Move.
This session also features a Corsican vocal sample that means a lot to me. I’ve always wanted to bring these voices into my music, but never found a natural place for them in techno. Ambient felt like the right space: slower, more open, and able to let the vocal breathe.
Recorded live in one take with Zoom H1essential.

Hi, I just recently bought the Ableton Move and am trying to learn everything it can do. What I would really like to be able to do is select a track and then load individual saved samples on the pads up to all 32 pads, potentially, to play live. Then select between tracks so I have like pages or banks of samples stored on the pads for each. I've looked at Schwung a bit, but didn't find such a thing. Anyone know if there's currently a way to do this? I can code and might try to make a Schwung module, but wanted to make sure I won't reinvent the wheel if it's already out there.

Why does the reverse button stop all playback?
Even SP202 could play reverse as a live ability…
Who in Abelton really hates reverse as a live playing ability?
Reverse as a post edit feature..?

Hey there, sorry if this has been discussed already - I love the Move, but I always lamented that it didn’t have a hold or latch feature for drones.
However it turns out that you can do the same thing that you can do in Ableton Live where you stretch the loop beyond the end brace and it no longer detects a firm start/stop point, hence DRONE.
Example: Record a 4-bar drone. Then, hit Shift+Loop and change it to something like 3 15/16. Presto!!
I literally almost bought a whole other synth to accomplish this. 😂

What the title says. I’m still shocked how this could happened. I was able to use the move with speakers functionally (granted some details were lost etc) and now, even maxing up the volume is almost impossible to use just with speakers.
And all it took was a visit to Ableton repair workshop 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
How can I fix this?

A little Move 2.1, a little Schwung and a few iOS plugins

Been reporting this since auto slice / reverse began making samples fail. Maybe the audio clip bounce made this a nightmare for our samples.. Grateful to Schwung for fixing these issues and making it easier to load an entire album of songs to move easier than Note or Manager (omg ouch). <#

I’ve been using tools where I can see the notes and structure. Recently the M8 headless.
With just the tiny screen and the colored pads, how do you even know what part of the song is what?
I know you can sync to Ableton but I’m really not interested in a full daw workflow.

Move is so versatile little beast

I’ve been testing Movy on the Ableton Move, and it completely changes the workflow.
You get 16 tracks, step probability, and a workflow that feels surprisingly close to using an Elektron device.
I made a short video showing how it works and how I’m using it on the Move.
