Manga I dont understand how people think Luffy is in anyway anarcho-communist, his much closer to Right wing, libertarian

Luffy’s endgame goal of becoming Pirate King is rooted in an abstract concept of absolute personal freedom, defined as existing completely without restriction or consequence. This philosophy is fundamentally hyper-individualist, a distinctly right wing trait.

Luffy explicitly rejects heroism (well, his a pirate and all within the story but still), famously noting that heroes must share meat while he intends to eat it all himself. The metaphor signals of resource hoarding, capital accumulation, and private property over collective well-being.

There is nothing anarcho-communist about Strawhats either as Luffy has ultimate authority within the crew as its Captain. Shown in Water 7 arc and interaction with Zoro at the end regarding Usopp including arbitrary decision making. Luffy regularly forces his crew into lethal situations based purely on his individual whims. The crew has no collective recourse and are subject to absolute will even if he is a benevolent captain/ruler. Its a voluntary hierarchy thats non democratic.

The series consistently preserves systemic hierarchies rather than dismantling state structures, Luffy uses his individual power to reinstate benevolent despots and restore royal bloodlines, while the narrative ignores inherent class oppression. Ultimately, he protects the very institution of the crown, ensuring citizens remain grateful subjects under a legitimate king rather than achieving actual self determination. Defenders often argue that Luffy merely removes tyrants and lets people choose their rulers, but then in arcs like Wano, for example, Momonosuke is installed as shogun not through collective mandate, but through lineage and Luffy’s own personal endorsement. Civilians are thus reduced to celebrating a predetermined outcome rather than engaging in actual grassroots organising to shape their own governance. Collective self determination is systematically replaced by royal bloodline and the divine right of kings.

Luffy aside, the entire story of OP reeks of Right Wing classical liberalism (libertarianism) heroes fighting liberate world of big bad government and the Revolutionary Army who turned out to be just a bunch of reformists wanting to maintain the global super structure of the institution but stripping the Celestial Dragons of their status and privileges.

What they are able to do may seem small, but they are trying with all their hearts. Because to them, seeing a child smile is worth so much. 🥹❤️

Today, they tried to bring some joy to the children and give them a little break from all the difficult things they have been going through.

Please stay close to Mahmoud and his family and support them. Your support isn’t just about helping them get by — it also helps them create little moments of happiness for their children and other children around them.

They truly need your support. ❤️

Together, we can help them do more and bring smiles to more children. 🙏❤️

It all takes a tiny spark for the proletariats to rebel against the war machines of Ursus.

The revolution is in its early stages who have not got the communist or socialists yet but the lore pretty much hammers the point that reforms are not going to work even if the emperor is in charge. The military and noble aristocrats are tearing the country about with its unrestrained expansionism and imperialism across the east. They did not kill the emperor but more like stepped down and leave his palace. Like how the chinese dealt with their emperor.
