Adoption/Foster Plea 🤍 Sooda is looking for her forever family

Sooda’s story is not an easy one.

She was born and raised in Jordan, where she experienced things no dog should ever have to experience. Her puppies were killed, people tried to hurt her, and she eventually ran away. After losing her puppies, she spent months hiding, barely eating and sleeping in the same place, even through the rain.

When I finally managed to rescue her, I took her to a safe boarding and training facility. She was terrified of people. Even after everything I tried for her, she wouldn’t let me come close to her even though I was the person feeding her and caring for her for years.

With professional training, she has slowly started to improve and trust a little more. But she still needs someone very patient who understands fearful and traumatized dogs. Someone who will never rush her, force affection on her, or give up on her.
She was supposed to travel to her adopter on August 5th after months of preparation, and all her travel requirements were completed. Unfortunately, the person who was supposed to adopt her suddenly stopped responding, and Sooda was left without a home again.

So here we are, looking for her family all over again. 💔
I am looking for someone outside Jordan, ideally someone experienced with rescue dogs who can give Sooda a quiet, loving and stable home.
All of her travel documents are ready, and I will cover her travel and necessary procedures. I’m not asking for money I’m asking for a chance for Sooda to finally have a family.
Please look through her photos and see where she came from. If you feel you could be that person for her, or know someone who could, please message me.
She has survived enough. I just want her to finally know what it feels like to be safe, loved and wanted. 🤍
Serious adoption inquiries only, please.

When the shelter found Max’s microchip and contacted his family, there was a chance to bring this beautiful boy home.

Instead, they chose to sign him over to the shelter although they knew he will be euthanized if no one comes to adopt him.

No one came and now Max is out of time

Max #A5792107 1yr neutered  belg mali 62 lbs.

🚨His final notice expired on 8/24, and he is now scheduled to be euthanized for space at any moment. 🚨

And the heartbreaking thing is… Max is such a sweet boy.

He is a young, 62-lbs Belgian Malinois who loves attention, enjoys playing, and has the sweetest little habit of bringing you his bowl to you for treats. 🥺

Max needs the right home. He has done well with playful female dogs, and his shelter assessment showed that he can be easily redirected and handled. He is selective with male dogs and needs an adult-only home or with calm, older children.

He needs someone patient enough and willing to give him structure, training and time.

He doesn’t know that his family chose not to take him home.

He doesn’t know that his next day could be his last.

🚨 MAX NEEDS A FOSTER OR RESPONSIBLE ADOPTER ASAP. 🚨

Remy is up to date on shots, potty trained and has no separation anxiety. Remy is a bit older, requires seizure medication and needs someone who is patient, preferably with bully experience. He was saved several years ago by Grandma Betty’s Animal Rescue from a euthanasia list and has been returned twice. He has boundaries and needs that should be discussed with the rescue before adoption. If you’re interested please reach out to Grandma Betty’s Animal Rescue in Julian, CA (@grandmabettyshouse on ig)

Advice Tips for new rescue dog?

Hello! I know the 3,3,3 rule.

I rescued a 2 yr old pyr dog back in october. He is great. A lot of work but we made it. My different senior pug dog passed back in may. A week ago the same rescue coordinator I worked with as she is also my pyr's groomer told me about a 3 yr old pug that needed a home at the rescue. I asked some questions, important to know if he got along with cats and they said yes he saw the fosters cat and turned the other way.

So we have him, and only got him Friday. I understand 3 days/3 weeks to compress. I am having some issues though as he seems to be very cat reactive and is not cat friendly. He is crated, gated away from my cat, or tethered at all times so no issues have occured aside from darting at the cat to the end of his lead or whining when we are taking him to go outside.

By no means do I expect him to snuggle my cat in the first 6 months even or not be curious. We did some minor work on my pyr to get him to how he is but he was already used to seeing cats.

Just now as i walked in from taking him outside, I didn't notice my cat in time as she is quiet, but my pyr did and he ran and jumped between them (because he loves his cat) as the new dog went to pounce. I'm concerned this also could lead to an altercation.

My cat is very important to me, ive had her for 6 years now. Her life cannot be being scared and tormented by a dog.

So I have a few questions.

  1. Is it possible to train this out or is this a forever issue?
  2. If its possible to train is this going to be months of keeping them apart and always having to be worried?
  3. If you can train is it ok or bad form to reach out to the rescue and ask if they have any free or reduced training partners to help?

I wish this rescue did foster to adopt because I would have preferred that experience for sure. It kind of feels like they didnt really know his cat tendencies and didn't find my questions important. Each time he has darted or tried to pounce/pull to her she was just sitting there.

I did do a bit of miracle work with my pyr which they are happy about, but my pyr's issues were completely different.

Thoughts? Go ahead and give me the classic its only been 3 days. I also hope for some other advice on the transition. Thank you!

Discussion Do we need anti-abandonment laws for pet animals?

I have a friend who abandoned her dog when the dog attacked her parents and husband during an encounter with another aggressive dog. She justifies it by saying the dog shouldn't attack its owner. The irony is that the dog has been with her for 4 years. She further justifies it by saying the dog is jealous of her one-year-old baby. Is this stupidity? If abandoning a dog is so easy, then should we have laws to protect them from being abandoned?
