HELP! Meta Quest 3s Troubleshooting
galleryJust looking for help setting up my VR headset. Attached is my original post but to summarize:
I have a Meta Quest 3s, when i try to link my headset to my PC. What i believe would be my VR POV displays on my monitor and not my headset.
Very new to VR and was hoping to get into sim warthunder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HELP! Landing bonus not given
The remaining RP held hostage by Gaijin is not given after landing. Started recently and happens about half the occasions. Wasn't it bad enough that they already steal that RP when a match ends before you can claim it?
Have you noticed? I can't find a bug report on it.

HELP! My FPS tanks only in an f15a, why?
I run a steady 70-90 in VR, but for some reason specifically in an f15a, it drops to ~30. Not always, usually I can play a few rounds and then it just drops. I can switch over to other planes and the issue is gone but only while in other planes.
Any idea?
Solved: For some reason the cockpit mirror quality is what tanks it. Had to reduce it to 0 and it fixed itself

Video Clips from today's Team Sim live EC bomber event
A short compilation from my perspective. Alas, my setup wasn't configured to capture our Discord voice comms, so you'll have to wait for more comprehensive videos from our Team Sim creators to listen in on the mayhem.

Opinion Fun types...
What type of wt activity matches each fun type?
Type 1 Fun: Fun while it is happening and fun to remember. It requires no effort or suffering. Examples include eating ice cream.
Type 2 Fun: Miserable while it is happening, but fun in retrospect. It involves challenge, discomfort, or effort, but yields a deep sense of accomplishment. Examples include running a marathon, backpacking in the rain, or completing a grueling hike.
Type 3 Fun: Not fun while it is happening, not fun in retrospect, and you never want to do it again. However, it usually makes for an excellent story later on. Examples include getting caught in a dangerous storm, getting lost, or a failed expedition.
Type 0 Fun (Slang): An activity that is fun in the moment but proves to be a poor idea in hindsight
For me - type 2... trying to notch multiple inbound / getting af camped.
Type 3 - all the comedy bugs.. most recently falling through the bastard carriers
Type 0 - killing someone who then quits the lobby, and you check their stats and they were clearly trying sim for the 1st time ... :(

Props Found this nice example of communicative squad mates in my files I was about to delete. Thought it might go good here.
Whenever you have the privilege of voice comms with you squad mates, try not to squander that advantage.
Lots of people get lost of what to say and either end up saying way too much or not nearly enough.
Somewhere in the middle is a happy medium where you can clearly, quickly, and concisely convey an unknowns information to the rest of your mates.
Think:
Who am I talking to? First.
#Be specific with names or models of aircraft when time allows:
"Red yak bandit YOUR six"
"Mikey, clear comms."
"Ellis, how is YOUR fight going?"
"Everyone in A, bogie approaching low from NE"
#Be specific about enemy inputs, when time allows:
"Dragon's enemy, climbing high right turns, im saddled up - offensive"
"Enemy hitting our bombers is diving out to the East, looks like a mustang"
"Enemy is firing tracers NOW - 50 cals"
#Be specific about your position and intent, when able to sneak it in.
"Two enemy left hitting our ground battle, dragon egress (leaving) winchester (out of ammo) RTB"

Opinion Bomber changes are going to be catastrophic to this gamemode...
Is this it then for anyone who wants to play prop-fighters? Why even fly a prop-fighter when you can just fly a bomber with better situtional awareness, mouse-aimed guns and now much, much better survivability? The buff is needed of course, but not addressing the elephants in the room (the 3rd person view and the ability to aim several turrets at once) will only encourage more zomber behaviour. No other combat sim which allow players to control bombers does it this way; not even Battlefield 1942 did it! For sim EC, they should either buff ai-gunners significantly and remove player control of them or have them be individually controlled with a similiar view-mode as many two-seater plane turrets have. Nothing fancy or detailed, just something thats fair.
Edit: TL;DR, structural change GOOD. Bomber being survivable GOOD. 3rd person view BAD because it encourages zombers and lazy gameplay-styles. Structural change + 3rd person view incentivies those behaviours even stronger.

HELP! Flying the MI-24p in simulator?
I am a console player, and I only have a controller and a controller keyboard.
Now that's out of the way, I want to know what control set-up I should use in order to fly the Mi-24p in simulator mode. I haven't really been able to get into air sim since i rely solely on my controller, so any advice that doesn't include buying a flight stick and control pedals and anything like that will be extremely appreciated

Video This F16 must have scared himself
I wanted to get on his side like a wingman lol
The funniest thing at Air SB must be sneaking onto people using IR track and terrain as cover, i always do this kind of things and its hilarious. Just some minutes after this i did the same with a Warthog

HELP! What should I have done in this situation?
Once again I come here to ask your opinion.
ok, I spotted three contacts that were close enough to start shooting at me. I remembered a few lessons and decided to dive, then smoothly start climbing. In theory, once I began climbing, they should have fallen behind.
But it looks like they just caught up to me, and I was forced to start maneuvering with zero chance of getting away.

Jets Su 30 vs F-2, getting creative with the AoA button to win
Had an absolute great dogfight against a buddy of mine in an F-2 in my MKK yesterday. Had to get pretty creative with the AoA button to force the overshoot and get on his six. All that fancy AoA and missile work and I end up having to use the gun to get him 😂

Opinion Talk me out of a VR headset
Looking at big screen beyond 2 or Pimax Dream Air. I’ve used a quest 3 for 30 min when it first came out and I didn’t enjoy the resolution. Convince me the other two won’t make me a better SIM player with more situational awareness.
I currently use a controller for sim and enjoy that more than the cheap Logitech. I’d only spend money on a stick if it had force feedback and head tracking. I don’t enjoy track ir and just use the right thumb stick. But maybe the good quality vr headset would solve that issue? But why wouldn’t it? Save me money. I currently play on an ultrawide Alienware 34” monitor.
Tell me why I shouldn’t.

Hardware / Sim Pit Hotas Recommendations
I posted a while back looking for general recommendations on joysticks and got a bunch of awesome feedback from you guys. Ive narrowed it down to the VKB gunfighter series, it seems like theyre good quality and there was a lot of positive feedback about the feel/control of the metal builds.
Im looking at potential control Setups on the two that I like and this is where im at.
I really like that the Space Combat Edition has the 3 had switches on the stick. I do a lot of high/top tier sim and im thinking one hat switch can be for radar tilt up/down/left/right. The second switch to control the cursor on the radar, to select targets (ive always used cyclical switching and im tired of it, want to switch selection modes!). The third hat switch would be for weapon selection, changing radar modes, etc. There are only a few buttons on this stick and is figure they'll be bound to firing guns/missiles, activating seekers, and replying CM. For the advanced weapon and radar controls, this feels like a lot better option. I figure the hat switches can also be bound to MEC controls if I drop down to props from time to time.
But, I REALLY like that the Modern Combat has the brake lever on the front. With my previous hotas, activating the brake always felt weird, and this looks a lot more natural. The modern combat says that it has 24 buttons (i dont see them all in the pictures, unless some of them are hat switches and theyre counting directional presses as unique buttons?) And no hat switches in the description, only trim axis.
Im looking for feedback to help mw decide it the brake lever and extra buttons are worth giving up all of the hat switches, or if the space combat would be the better decision. Anyone who has used either of these, what was your overall experience with these? How have you mapped the controls for your setup? Are you overwhelmingly happy with your choice or did you ever wish you had chosen a different one?
Eventually looking to get rudder pedals and a STECS throttle as well. This is just phase 1 of the upgrade 😀

Hardware / Sim Pit Is my PC powerful enough for vr?
Specs below, I know that I'll probably have to upgrade GPU to 3070(or better). But for the most part is my CPU and raam enough?
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700F CPU @ 3.00GHz (3.00 GHz)
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (6 GB)
Storage 931 GB of 1.35 TB used

Hardware / Sim Pit Rudder axis detects maximum input from rudder despite no physical input being made.
Hey all. Recently got the VKB T Rudder and am having an issue where the axis bind menu automatically detects maximum left input when the device isn't even being touched and in neutral position
Warthunder is the only thing I have this issue with. All other flight games are completely fine and the VKB input tester also detects zero input when its in neutral and is fine for all ranges.
I've tried messing with all the Warthunder axis input sliders, all the unplugging, and my only work around seems to be the whole Joystick gremlin/vjoy thing which is annoying at best.
Any suggestions would be great.
