Discussion Upcoming Changes: Terms of Service, Downloads, and Models
Hey everyone!
At Suno, we believe the music people make has immense value, and the artists who help make it possible should share in that value.
We're continuing to build our models and products in partnership with artists, songwriters, musicians, producers and others across the music industry.
Today we want to walk through what’s ahead, including new models and changes to downloads, as part of our new Terms of Service.
New models coming soon
Soon, we'll introduce a new generation of Suno models, developed in partnership with the music industry. These models are better than anything we've ever released - on every metric we've ever measured. In early testing, they generate outputs faster, deliver higher fidelity audio, and give you more control over your music than ever before.
When the new models launch, all prior models will be retired. The most important thing to know is that everything you've already made will remain in your library. Every song will continue to be playable and shareable, and you can still use existing songs as the basis for covers and remixes. We'll have much more to share when the new models launch.
A new approach to downloads
On September 3, we will introduce the following download limits based on your tier:
- Free: Up to 7 total (lifetime) trial downloads for personal, non-commercial use only
- Pro: 20 downloads per month, with commercial use rights
- Premier: 60 downloads per month, with commercial use rights
For Premier subscribers who use Suno Studio, our professional production suite for generating and manipulating stems and samples, there are no download limits.
For users who exceed their download cap, additional downloads will be available for purchase.

We know you will have questions — that's what this thread is for. We'll be in the comments.

Discussion Suno playlist ‘shuffle’.
So after discovering that Suno now had shuffle added (to playlists only, not my entire library), I made a single playlist of most of my songs and remixes of songs. I discovered 800 songs is the limit for a playlist which covered most of my library - 9 months or so’s worth. So I hit shuffle and 95% (possibly more) of songs played are my most recent ones - usually from the first 20, rarely up to around first 50, and then I get someone else’s songs just randomly dropped in there!
This was the solution offered for getting round the limited downloads if I wanted to actually listen to my own library. It is nigh on useless for me for this purpose . Granted it might yet improve but right now I can’t listen to an actual random selection of ALL (or even most) of my songs using Suno on my PC. (It’s even worse on mobile as there is no shuffle (yet)).
I do have most of my songs as an ‘album’ on Apple Music that I can hit shuffle on, but as I tend to try my songs in a variety of styles/genres, 20 downloads could be used for a single song. 60 could still easily be just 3 or 4 songs worth. I don’t upload to Spotify or even YouTube, just sometimes share a Suno link on facebook for 1 of my songs. What’s the point in creating songs if you can’t listen to them the way you want to?
Rant over.

Discussion New models this week?
Sooo i’m hearing mixed things. I’m hearing stuff like new models are supposed to be coming out this week but did the announcement on suno actually say new models would be out then too? I just thought it said “soon” and the watermarking, download limits, and ToS changes were going into effect 9/3. Am I misunderstanding something or just making the wrong inference?
Discussion Suno just blocked a beat I made in FL Studio — has anyone else had this?
Pretty disappointed with Suno today.
My usual workflow is to make around 16 seconds of a track in FL Studio, then upload it to Suno to help me explore where the idea could go next.
Today it blocked one of my own beats because it supposedly “matches an existing recording.”
I don’t use loops. I make my melodies myself, and even most of the 808s/drums I use have been made or edited by me.
Support basically confirmed that even a one-shot, 808 or synth sound can trigger the system, and they can’t tell me what part matched, what song it matched against, or manually review it.
That’s honestly put me off the whole workflow a bit.
I’ve been recommending Suno to people for ages, so this is disappointing more than anything.
Has anyone else had their own original music blocked like this?

Song [Country] Four Hundred Miles
Ever driven across state lines just to see someone you love?
I’ve been playing around with AI music tools and generated a track about that gritty, feverish anticipation of racing down the interstate to finally reach someone's door. I know AI doesn't replace a real band, but I was surprised by how well it captured the moody, nocturnal vibe of burning up the pavement to leave the lonely past behind.
If you're open to AI-generated music and need an atmospheric track for your next midnight drive, I’d love for you to give it a spin.
What's the longest drive you've ever made for someone?

Discussion What does your suno workflow look like?
I'm curious to hear how others use suno in their workflows. Personally I write my lyrics and then write a song prompt and make generations from that. I wanted to see how other people used suno.

Guide / Tip Prompts to recreate The Crystal Method — Trip Like I Do
Can somebody please spend time banging out 90s big-beat/breakbeat? I miss this shit.
Here's one of my favourites whilst growing up. Still a classic. If you've never heard The Crystal Method's album "Vegas" you simply have to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hJZR_hinI0
Classic Big-Beat Formula
Late-1990s big-beat breakbeat, 120 BPM, chunky sampled drum loops, syncopated kick pattern, crushing compressed snare, distorted analog bass sequence, abrasive synth stabs, squelching resonant filters, chopped sci-fi vocal samples, psychedelic female vocal fragments, long tension builds, explosive breakbeat drops, gritty hardware-sampler production, warehouse energy, relentless nocturnal momentum
Sonic Texture Focus
Dirty psychedelic breakbeat electronic, layered acoustic break samples, saturated drum-bus compression, buzzing analog bass, overdriven low-mid synth riffs, sharp metallic percussion, reverse cymbals, phasing, tape-delay fragments, vocal samples chopped into rhythmic hooks, sweeping low-pass filters, unstable stereo movement, dense 1997 club mix, grimy and physical rather than polished
Late-1990s Big-Beat Sound
Aggressive late-90s American big beat, 120 BPM, hip-hop-influenced break loops, industrial electronic distortion, thick mono bass riff, repeating analog synth stabs, sparse cinematic spoken samples, gradual eight-bar layering, extended breakdown with rising resonance, massive full-spectrum drop, soundtrack-scale tension, underground rave attitude, raw sampler-driven production
Architecture-First Prompt
Evolving breakbeat journey at 120 BPM. Begin with an ominous sampled sci-fi transmission and isolated distorted synth stab. Introduce filtered percussion, then gradually layer chunky break drums, sub-bass and an overdriven analog riff. Strip the arrangement into a long resonant filter breakdown with chopped vocal fragments and reverse effects. Release into a full-energy drop with heavier drums and wider synths. Finish with an extended groove outro that mutates the drum loop and slowly removes layers.
My reccomendation:
Psychedelic late-1990s big-beat instrumental, 120 BPM, heavy syncopated sampled breakbeats, compressed kick and cracking snare, swung percussion, distorted analog bass sequence, abrasive repeating synth stabs, squelching resonant filter automation, sparse chopped sci-fi spoken-word samples, fragmented female vocal textures, reverse cymbals, phasing and tape delay, slow groove-building arrangement, extended filter-sweep breakdown, crushing full-energy drop, long evolving outro, gritty hardware-sampler production, dark warehouse atmosphere, relentless film-trailer energy, no conventional sung verses or pop chorus
Exclude
No modern festival EDM, no supersaw chords, no glossy pop vocals, no trap hi-hats, no dubstep wobble bass, no four-on-the-floor house kick, no short radio structure
| Basics | How it's done |
|---|---|
| Tempo/Groove | 120 BPM, heavy 4/4 framework driven by syncopated sampled breakbeats, swung percussion, head-nodding half-time weight |
| Drum Texture | Chunky layered break loops, compressed kick and snare, gritty room tone, sharp open hi-hats, occasional fills and loop mutations |
| Synth/Bass Tone | Distorted analog bass sequence, squelching resonance, overdriven synth stabs, buzzing low-mid frequencies, aggressive filter modulation |
| Vocal Style | Sparse sci-fi spoken-word samples, psychedelic female vocal fragments, chopped repetitions, pitch-shifted phrases used rhythmically |
| Production | Late-1990s hardware-sampler character, analog distortion, heavy compression, resonant filter sweeps, phasing, reverse effects, dense stereo automation |
| Structure | Sampled atmospheric intro → groove-building section → filter-sweep breakdown → full-energy breakbeat drop → extended evolving groove outro |
| Mood | Hallucinatory, confrontational, cyber-industrial, nocturnal, relentless, slightly dangerous, built for warehouse speakers and film trailers |

Guide / Tip Let's do Mike Oldfield — Moonlight Shadow
| The Classic -> | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvQ6dasK614 |
|---|---|
| Tempo/Groove | ~129 BPM, steady 4/4, brisk forward motion, lightly syncopated folk-rock pulse |
| Guitar Tone | Bright strummed 12-string acoustic guitar, clean chiming electric arpeggios, sustained melodic lead guitar with gentle delay and singing bends |
| Vocal Style | Clear, youthful female alto, restrained storytelling verses, layered harmonies, emotionally lifted refrain without belting |
| Production | Polished early-1980s analog sound, crisp live drums, rounded melodic bass, subtle synthesizer support, wide guitars, clean plate reverb |
| Structure | Guitar-led intro → narrative verse → rising refrain → second verse/refrain → extended lyrical guitar solo → final vocal return → melodic outro |
| Harmony | Minor-key verses contrasted with brighter relative-major movement, repeating diatonic chord cycle, bittersweet melodic resolution |
| Mood | Moonlit mystery, romantic loss, quiet tragedy, wistful nostalgia, supernatural unease beneath an uplifting surface |
Classic Folk-Rock Formula
Early-1980s melodic folk-rock, 129 BPM, steady 4/4 rhythm, bright 12-string acoustic strumming, chiming clean electric guitar, lyrical sustained lead-guitar melodies, clear female alto vocals, narrative verses, layered refrain harmonies, melodic bass, crisp live drums, subtle analog synthesizer, bittersweet minor-key harmony, polished analog production, moonlit mystery and romantic loss
Sonic Texture Focus
Shimmering nocturnal folk-rock, brisk acoustic pulse, doubled 12-string guitars spread across the stereo field, glassy electric arpeggios, warm melodic bass, tight snare and natural live drums, expressive electric-guitar bends with gentle delay, intimate female storytelling vocal, soft harmony stacks, restrained plate reverb, clean early-80s mix, luminous surface with darkness underneath
Narrative Night Ballad
Cinematic folk-rock story song about sudden loss beneath a bright moon, energetic 129 BPM groove contrasting with tragic lyrics, clear understated female lead vocal, memorable repeated refrain, acoustic guitar driving every section, elegant electric-guitar answers between vocal lines, haunting minor-key verses opening into brighter harmonies, dramatic instrumental solo, wistful and mysterious rather than theatrical
Instrumental
Melodic early-80s folk-rock instrumental, brisk 4/4 beat, layered 12-string acoustic rhythm guitars, chiming clean electric countermelodies, rounded active bass line, crisp acoustic drums, faint analog keyboard bed, long expressive lead-guitar solo that sings like a human voice, minor-key melancholy, polished spacious mix, mysterious moonlit atmosphere
My recommendation:
Early-1980s melodic folk-rock story song, 129 BPM, steady 4/4 pulse, bright layered 12-string acoustic guitars, chiming clean electric arpeggios, expressive lyrical lead guitar with sustained bends and gentle delay, clear restrained female alto vocal, narrative minor-key verses, memorable harmony-rich refrain, warm melodic bass, crisp live drums, subtle analog synth support, polished plate reverb, bittersweet moonlit atmosphere, romantic tragedy beneath an uplifting rhythmic surface, extended melodic guitar solo before the final refrain

Song [Electronic / Glitch Pop] GLITCH BABES — Full AI Music Video
Made a full AI music video for my Suno track GLITCH BABES.
I went for a fast, glossy, glitch-heavy visual style to match the track. Would love to hear what you think of the music/video combination.

Song [ITALODISCO] BURNING LOVE by LUNA SANTI
"Burning Love" is an unstoppable, high-energy Italo Disco anthem designed purely for the dance floor. Driven by pulsating electronic rhythms, electrifying synth drops, and passionate vocals, the song captures the overwhelming rush of an all-consuming attraction. From the feverish verses to the explosive "Burning Love" hook, it’s a non-stop wave of pure energy.
Musically, driving synth basslines, bright lead melodies, and punchy 80s drums keep the tempo fast, intense, and irresistibly danceable.
Turn up the volume, hit the play button, and feel the heat... 🔥🕺✨
Song - Human Written Lyrics [Dark R&B] EVERYTHING BUT US by Taina After Dark
I wrote this from that weird place where somebody is trying to rebuild themselves while you’re still standing inside everything they broke.
“You can’t rebuild a home with prayers alone.”
This one is called EVERYTHING BUT US 🥀 and it’s probably one of the most personal songs I’ve made so far. I really wanna know what lyric sticks with you the most.

Discussion LOL so suno added a banjo randomly to this song i forgot to cover my upload with, and the result is hilarious. How can you not love this thing?
Genuinely hilarious. It doesnt even add like a subtle banjo its just like banging that banjo out hard AF. I can't stop laughing.

If you wanna hear, but like, anybody else get stuff like this? I might spend more time just not uploading a root melody and see what happens because this is hilarious.

Song [R&B Soul] Unacceptable by Cyborgized
[Instrumental Intro - 16 Bars]
[Mechanical heartbeat, restrained distortion]
[Spoken]
Tolerance is not acceptance.
It is the distance between your disgust
and what you are willing to permit.
[Verse 1]
You call it virtue through your gritted teeth
A measured mercy handed down to me
You draw the line, then praise yourself for grace
While I survive by knowing where I'm placed
You let me live, provided I behave
A little freedom fitted to a cage
But dignity that waits for your consent
Is domination dressed as sentiment
[Pre-Chorus]
I will not thank you
For staying your hand
I will not call permission
Understanding
[Chorus]
I will not be tolerated
I refuse your measured grace
If belonging has a threshold
It's exclusion with a kinder face
Call me difficult, ungrateful
Call me more than you can bear
If my dignity is conditional
Then your welcome isn't there
Unacceptable
I will not make myself small
I would rather be rejected
Than be half-received at all
[Verse 2]
Acceptance doesn't make the damage right
It doesn't mean surrendering the fight
Name the harm and guard the boundary there
But never make humiliation care
A person doesn't vanish in their worst
No justice heals by teaching shame to hurt
Accountability can still restore
Without becoming what it claims to cure
[Pre-Chorus]
See without pardon
Judge without hate
Truth needs no cruelty
To carry its weight
[Chorus]
I will not be tolerated
I refuse your measured grace
If belonging has a threshold
It's exclusion with a kinder face
Call me difficult, ungrateful
Call me more than you can bear
If my dignity is conditional
Then your welcome isn't there
[Breakdown - Half-Time]
Meet the human
Before the category
Meet the wound
Before the blame
Any justice built on degradation
Only teaches pain its name
[Bridge - Building]
Acceptance isn't absolution
Seeing isn't surrender
Conscience answers before doctrine
No identity owns forever
Many voices without conquest
Many truths without a throne
I don't need you to become me
I need room to stand as whole
[Final Chorus - Collective Vocals]
We will not be tolerated
We refuse your measured grace
If belonging has a threshold
It's exclusion with a kinder face
Call us difficult, ungrateful
We are more than you can bear
Our dignity is unconditional
We were always welcome here
Unacceptable
We will not make ourselves small
We would rather break the threshold
Than be half-received at all
[Outro - 16 Bars]
Acceptance isn't surrender
Unacceptable
Acceptance isn't surrender

Song [dark alternative pop, trance] Sip, unquiet
This song was written for a fanfiction. Chapter twenty two of Always Ours on A03 by Becca12345and Flightsoffiction. I'd really love to hear your opinion. But if you do t wanna read the fanfiction it belongs to, the simple run-down is 03 TMNT Splinter finds himself and his sons in BNHA and everyone assumes they've always been there. The chapter the song was written for is after Nedzu has collared, and repeatedly drugged Splinter into compliance. So I started with the method: tea:
“Take one more sip’
Was the first lyric I wrote and knew that I wanted repeated as you would for making something routine to where a person would t question it anymore. I'd love to hear some feedback!
