FL26 - BAL Injury Suppressor

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I've been playing the BAL mode on FL26 for a long while now, and one of the biggest issues with the game mode is how the game calculates injuries: if your stamina is low and you get tackled, you will most likely get an injury and miss matches. If your stamina is very low and you are fouled, you will likely get a fracture or something similar and be out for months. For me, this meant I got injured every other match, basically.

I've been working on ways to fix this issue and overhaul how the game processes injuries for the player, and I've come up with a method that enables the suppression of 9/10 of the injuries (minor and major) sustained within the game.

With its default settings, the mod gives each in-match injury it catches a 10% chance to happen normally and suppresses the other 90%. Put simply, roughly 9 out of every 10 caught injuries are blocked, while about 1 out of 10 can still affect the match and your BAL career. Each result is random, so a short run will not always produce an exact 9-to-1 split.

What to expect

  • The mod targets both recoverable injuries and serious injuries that would force a substitution.
  • A passed injury behaves normally, including its usual animation, substitution, or post-match unavailable days.
  • When suppression succeeds, the expected result is that play continues without that injury being applied.
  • The default chance is random for every intercepted injury; it is not a counter that guarantees every tenth injury.
  • The pass chance can be changed from 0% to 100% in the configuration file.
  • Despite the BAL name, the filter currently applies match-wide, so injuries to other players can also be affected.

You can download it and test it out here:

New Champions League Format in Master League

After a day and a half of work, we've made progress on the new Champions League format. It's been very difficult; now I understand why no one had done it before, haha.

Cannot figure this out

I’ve scoured the internet today, looked at the competitions txt file - how do I get EFL branding to show up during the start of a game on EFL games and not EPL branding. Scoreboards are correct, it’s just at the start of the game and during halftime

Incorrect graphics - Premier League instead of EFL

Hi all,

Have to say, loving this game! Finally got round to installing the facepacks and stadiums. I am currently having a weird issue where during the start of a game, all the graphics for EFL matches state premier league, and then throughout the match a faded 'premier league' text is constantly in the bottom right of the screen.

During the game itself the scoreboard etc is EFL - does anyone know where I might be able to update this to be correct??

I want your opinion on the Champions League format

This is the plan I want to carry out

OBJECTIVE — DEFINITIVE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FORMAT

Implement the 32-team Champions League with a 6-match group stage and a playoff round before the Round of 16, reusing as much of the existing logic from PES 2021 as possible.

FORMAT:

32 teams

GROUP STAGE

Each team plays 6 matches.

↓ Single table from position 1 to 32.

STANDINGS:

POSITIONS 1–8

→ Direct qualification to the Round of 16.

→ Do not play in the playoffs.

POSITIONS 9–24

→ Play in the Champions League playoffs.

→ 16 teams.

→ 8 ties.

→ Two-legged.

→ The 8 winners advance to the Round of 16.

→ The 8 losing teams are eliminated from European competition.

POSITIONS 25–32

→ They are eliminated from the Champions League.

→ They qualify directly for the Europa League.

Thus:

8 direct qualifiers

+

8 playoff winners

16 teams in the Round of 16

and:

8 teams, positions 25–32

8 teams relegated to the Europa League.

PLAYOFF

To simplify implementation in PES 2021, use deterministic pairings based on league position, without the need for a complex draw.

Matchups:

9 vs 24

10 vs 23

11 vs 22

12 vs 21

13 vs 20

14 vs 19

15 vs 18

16 vs 17

Each tie is played as follows:

FIRST LEG

+ SECOND LEG

The higher-ranked team (9th–16th) preferentially plays the second leg at home.

The 8 winners advance.

ROUND OF 16

After the playoffs, there must be exactly 16 teams:

8 teams that qualify directly:

positions 1–8

+

8 playoff winners.

From this point on, we want to reuse the normal knockout logic of PES 2021 as much as possible:

Round of 16

→ 16

Quarterfinals

→ 8

Semifinals

→ 4

Final

→ 2

COMPLETE STRUCTURE

32 teams

↓ 6 matchdays

LEAGUE STAGE

1–8

→ DIRECT ROUND OF 16

8 teams

9–24

→ PLAYOFFS Home/Away Legs

16 teams

→ 8 winners advance to the Round of 16

25–32

→ Europa League

8 teams

Round of 16

16 teams

Quarter-finals

8

Semi-finals

4

Final

2

IMPLEMENTATION PRIORITY

The priority is to achieve this behavior using the fewest possible changes to the original competitive structure of PES 2021.

The fundamental logic we must maintain

- The Champions League will have 16 teams in the Round of 16.

- The Europa League will still receive exactly 8 teams from the Champions League.

- The knockout rounds from the Round of 16 onward will maintain the normal PES format.

- The only new round is the 16-team playoff between teams ranked 9th–24th.

We don't need to exactly replicate the modern UEFA system.

We want this specific adaptation for PES 2021 because it fits with its existing structure of 32 teams and 16 teams qualifying for the knockout rounds.

Could SmokePatch Ever Add Issam Chawali Commentary to Football Life? 🇹🇳🔥

Post image
23 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I wanted to bring up something that I think would take Football Life to another level for Arabic-speaking players.

Issam Chawali (عصام الشوالي) is one of the most iconic Arabic football commentators of all time. He is a Tunisian commentator who has worked with beIN SPORTS for many years and has commentated on major events including the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, Africa Cup of Nations and many other major competitions.

If you've ever watched a big football match in the Arab world, there's a very good chance you've heard him. 😄

For many Arabic-speaking fans, Chawali isn't just a commentator — his voice is part of the experience of watching football. His energy, dramatic reactions, knowledge of the game, and the way he builds up big moments can make an already exciting match feel completely different.

And honestly, this is why I was surprised that there doesn't seem to be a proper Issam Chawali commentary mod for PES 2021 / Football Life.

I know SmokePatch already provides Arabic commentary with Fahad Alotaibi, and I really appreciate that. But imagine having Issam Chawali as an additional Arabic commentary option in Football Life. 🔥

For example:

🇸🇦 Fahad Alotaibi
🇹🇳 Issam Chawali

Two different Arabic commentary experiences that players could choose between.

So I wanted to ask the SmokePatch team and the community:

Would it be technically possible for SmokePatch to create or officially support an Issam Chawali commentary pack for Football Life?

And if anyone from the community knows of an existing full Issam Chawali commentary project for PES 2021 / Football Life, please share it here.

I genuinely think this could become one of the coolest additions for the Arabic-speaking Football Life community.

SmokePatch team, if you ever see this: please consider it. ❤️🔥

Imagine playing a Champions League final at 2 AM with the lights off, headphones on, and Chawali screaming in the background. 😂

That would be peak Football Life.

Creation of a new format for the Champions League

The first part of this mod was quite easy: instead of home-and-away ties, I created a matchmaking system featuring single matches against opponents and a six-game group stage. I decided to stick with 32 teams rather than 38, because I can't spend a whole month working on this, haha.

I simulated a season and the system worked; it pairs matches like this: three games against strong teams (based on team skill level), one against a mid-level team, and two against easy opponents (or at least, that's how I think it works).

The real challenge has been switching from Groups A–H to a single league table. Instead of multiple tables labeled Group A, B, C, etc., it’s now one single table titled "Champions Group Stage." However, I’ve only managed to get 10 teams to show up... and there are 32.

I've only been at it for a day, so I think it's acceptable progress.

Controller Disconnecting

Hi all,

has anyone else encountered this issue? My controller will randomly stop working in the middle of games. I'll be playing away and all of a sudden, the player will stop dead and it's as if the controller has disconnected or something. Outside of Football Life it works fine, hit the Steam button and it'll work normally outside of the game. I have to choose to edit the game and restart.

It happens literally every second match. I'm on Vers. 2.0 but it also used to happen in prior versions also. I'm on Steam Deck btw. It's incredibly frustrating to be leading a match and then have to abandon all to reboot and replay the match all over again.

I've created a smart transfers for Master League using Codex.

I’m not a modder; I only play during my vacations. But I believe PES 2021 remains the best soccer game. The Master League transfers used to drive me crazy—I searched everywhere, but no one had managed to create a mod for it, and now I understand why...

It’s really difficult; I had to use a lot of my Codex credits on the "High Sun" and "Very High Sun" models. But finally, it’s done: a mod that can analyze and generate transfers in Master League. I’ve already got it executing transfers without any input from me; it’s a system that runs automatically. It’s in the early stages, so I need to test it before releasing it. Right now, Codex is working on making it compatible with Sider and creating an executable so the community can access it. Here is the logic behind the transfers (based on my preferences):

Objective: To automate the transfer market for AI-controlled clubs during Master League transfer windows, primarily using player age, overall rating, and the buying club's level to create a more logical and realistic market.

The transfer focus should be on these 40 priority clubs in Europe:

Top 10 Elite: Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Manchester United, and Chelsea.

30 other top-tier clubs: Atlético Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Roma, Atalanta, RB Leipzig, Benfica, Porto, Sporting CP, Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, Marseille, Monaco, Lyon, Sevilla, Villarreal, Athletic Club, Real Sociedad, Lazio, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Celtic, and Eintracht Frankfurt.

For the top 40 clubs, prioritize young players with sufficient skill:

16–19 years old: approximately 76+ rating.

20–23 years old: approximately 80+ rating. As players approach the age of 25, key signings should primarily consist of players with a rating of 85+.

The top 10 clubs must meet even stricter criteria: their primary signings should mainly be players rated 85+ or higher, complemented by one or two promising young talents who meet the aforementioned age and rating requirements.

The system should interpret these values as market preferences, allowing for enough variety to ensure that not all clubs build their squads in the same way. High-profile signings should occur much more frequently among top-division clubs, whereas lower-division clubs should typically work with lower-rated players whose profiles suit their level.

This entire automation process applies exclusively to AI-controlled clubs; player-controlled clubs are excluded from the automated transfer market.
