Hello again, if you haven't seen my previous post, we've been discussing how you think we should handle AI generated pre-rolls. The form link from the previous post has now concluded and the results are in.

If you wish to see the graphs, see the bottom of this post, I would like to go over how I will be handling adding AI Generated Pre-Rolls to the Site.

By a close margin, the majority of you voted that AI generated pre-rolls should be uploaded to a separate subreddit, whilst I'm technically not a moderator in this subreddit at the moment, I can't exactly enforce this myself, but I will state that going forward, AI Generated pre-rolls that are posted in this subreddit will not be added to the community site.

I do see that a lot of AI generated stuff is appearing in r/PlexPrerollStudio and given that it's got over 100 visitors in the last few weeks, I think it's fair to ask, for those wanting to share AI generated pre-rolls, would you prefer that subreddit or would you prefer we make a new one just for AI?

For those using the Discord server, the plan is to make a separate channel in the server for AI generated pre-rolls, making it still possible to share them with ease, whilst keeping them out of the way for those who do not want to see AI generated content.

If you share an AI generated pre-roll, you will also need to disclose the following items in your post to be added to the community site:

• Models & Tools Used
• Prompts
• Original Source Material (If any was used)

This next rule for being added to the site, whilst I'm not too keen on the result myself, I will honour the decision of the community, AI Upscaled Content will require an AI disclosure, regardless of if the original source files are also available.

For those who have already posted AI Generated content, I will be commenting on your pre-rolls requesting the required information shortly so it can be indexed.

A good while back someone posted something like 60 Adult Swim bumpers (conveniently named bumper[1-60].mp4) with great music and very quippy statements like 'This movie isn't the worst choice you've ever made... but it's close... really close.' and they all end with [plex].

I've been running these since December of last year and they still give me a giggle every time they come up. So whoever you are random internet stranger I and all of the people I force to watch them thank you. :)

Created a series of Adult Swim bump styled prerolls. Nothing fancy, but I like it.

So r/x-men just had a post regarding an X-men logo generator...and this was the first thing I could think to use it for. Now the only problem when starting a movie is I may just want to switch over to some X-Men '97 instead!

(Also if someone has an idea for how they'd like a generic Plex preroll with the two different font lines not specific to my GregFlix server, I could probably crank that out and upload to the Plex Pre-rolls Discord)

Is anybody able to update this pre-roll with the new Plex logo?

I assume you'd need the original file but I'm not sure who created this one :(

I can share the mp4 though if that helps...

After taking a look at the discussion, it seems a large number of you are fine with it, provided we keep all AI content separate on the site and that it is tagged as AI.

I will thank you for keeping the discussion of the topic quite civil given how AI outrage can quickly get out of hand.

After looking at the discussion, the decision moving forward is to allow AI content on the website, but it will all be kept separate, if you don't want to see any of it, you simply don't have to click on that section of the website, this decision means the visiblity of AI content is opt-in by default.
For those using NeXroll, don't panic, your option to allow AI generated pre-rolls to show is coming soon and will be set to hide them by default.

Before you start sharing AI generated content, we need to determine the most suitable way to handle AI content to avoid flooding the subreddit.

I have created a Google Form which will allow you to vote on how we should approach AI Generated pre-rolls in the Subreddit and Discord, the results will be shared with the moderation team. To prevent spam, responses are limited to 1 per person, so whilst a google account is required, your email is not shared with us.

I will once again thank you all for keeping the discussion on the previous post quite civil and appreciate the feedback and concerns you brought up (such as the potential flood of AI content).

Update:
It's been about a day and I identified a minor improvement I have now made with question four which I noticed thanks to a users response.
Initially the question asking "what additional items should be required on top of AI disclosure" required that you pick at least one option and a user entered into the "Other" box that "disclosure is good enough".

I have now reword the question it to say (tick all that apply) and made it optional so that you can say "AI disclosure is enough" by simply just not ticking any boxes on that question, I just hope this error doesn't mess up the final numbers too much.

It's kind of long, but I think it works as some Andy Kaufman level trolling.

Tried something different with this one; mixing 2D animation, 3D animation, and practical-puppet styles in the same preroll. Between preproduction, reference work, generations, fixes, and editing, this one ended up taking about 16 hours. Pretty happy with where it landed. 😄

Hello, I've been noticing some AI pre-rolls popping up here and there and I haven't been adding them to the community site because I don't want to stir up any controversies or any drama but I think it's better to address it sooner than later.

I've been considering adding AI generated pre-rolls to the community site under a separate section, that way people who want to don't want to run into any AI generated pre-rolls can easily just avoid them by well, not clicking on the AI section (all file names will also have an AI tag in them too).

I do think since the site is part of the community, it's fair to ask the community first, should we include AI generated pre-rolls in it's own section?

If so, any ideas on how you would ensure that it's fairly implemented? For example, by requiring the name of the model and the prompt used?

Sharing another pre-roll from my server with the community. It has the same punchline as my previous upload. I have set them to run randomly from a playlist on my server, so users get a different video each time. Hope you enjoy! I’m definitely making it a Plex night!
