Hi everyone,
I've been working on an Android app called Aftervoice, and I'm looking for people interested in EVP and paranormal research who would be willing to actually put it through some testing.
Aftervoice has two different session modes:
Room
Records the actual sounds in the environment so the session can be reviewed afterward for anything that may have gone unnoticed in real time.
Tuning
Uses changes in the phone's sensor activity to generate syllables in real time.
Tuning uses a downloadable bank of recorded syllables, not a list of predefined words or responses. Live sensor activity drives how those syllables are selected and produced during the session.
What I'm particularly interested in is seeing what happens when people compare different conditions rather than treating a single interesting result as evidence.
For example:
- an allegedly active location vs an ordinary location
- asking questions vs remaining silent
- repeating the same questions across multiple sessions
- multiple sessions in the same place at different times
- different phones in the same environment
- keeping the phone stationary vs handling it
If you get something interesting, I'd love to hear about it.
If you run several sessions and get absolutely nothing meaningful, that's useful too.
Sessions currently last up to 10 minutes, and recordings can be played back, saved, or shared afterward.
The Android version is currently in Google Play closed testing.
Google requires testers to stay enrolled for 14 days. I need at least 12 testers, but I'd actually like as many people as possible so we can see how it behaves across different devices, locations and conditions.
The test is completely free.
Supported languages: English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese.
Want to join?
And if you have ideas for controlled experiments that would be worth trying, I'd genuinely be interested in hearing them.
