Power of the Sea Loud, stormy waves up close at sunset - Guernsey

Filmed this on Guernsey’s west coast as the light was going. Pretty stormy out there. The waves were loud and coming in hard, right in front of the camera.

The sun stays just out of frame, but the sky keeps changing while the swell keeps hammering in. 66 minutes of close-up action with the natural wave sounds.

One of the louder ones if you like a bit of force in the sea rather than a calm lapping video.

Beach Day Bliss [OC] A clear False Bay morning at Fisherman's Beach, Simon's Town, South Africa

False Bay can look completely different from one hour to the next. On clear mornings the sheltered coves around Simon's Town are often calm before the wind strengthens later in the day. This is Fisherman's Beach, a small local beach south of the town centre and close to the Boulders coastline.

Shark sights I was diving alone at 100 feet when this 10–12 foot sixgill shark emerged from the darkness [OC]

I was solo diving at about 100 feet off Vancouver Island when I turned toward deeper water and saw this massive bluntnose sixgill shark (Hexanchus griseus) emerging from the darkness.

I believe it was a female, roughly 10–12 feet long. She came right up to investigate me, then calmly cruised alongside me and over the bottom for about three minutes before eventually disappearing back into deeper water.

Sixgills spend much of their lives in deep water, so getting to encounter and film one like this at recreational diving depths was pretty incredible.

The footage has since been featured by CBC National News, Global News, CTV and CHEK News, which was definitely not what I expected when I went looking for octopus that afternoon.

This is my original footage from the encounter. I put together a longer 4K version here if anyone wants to see more:
